BARNETTS MEGA Sour Raspberry 500g

Takes me back to my childhood. Very sour, on a different level to other “sour” sweets like toxic waste.

If you love sour these are a must. Highly recommend, bought for my partner and he absolutely loves them. (If you do not like sour he warned they are lethally sour)

Just ok, fun though.

I ordered these as had last ordered similar in 2012 and my pregnant fiancée was craving sour sweets. After all local shops “sour” sweets failed to put a smile on her face because they where more sweet than sour I ordered these. I did warn her that the last time I ordered some like this it dissolved a paperbag in 2 weeks. Lets just say it was so sour she spat it out and the cravings are gone. I would happily pay double to see that facial expression again! The exterior couting is super sour and lasts about a minute or two. There is also a ton of the sour powder inside which leakes out as you suck them and its amazing how sour these are. Now going to prank next doors kids and my family!!

I think the recipe for the flavouring, malic and citric acids might be off. This doesn't give sour, just a very unpleasant, almost bitter taste and I have a nice juicy reaction to most sour products like Haribo and sour skittles so I don't think it's my taste buds. Not worth it.

Slightly sour initially but then nothing do taste nice though, but don't buy as a prank sweet lol!

I'm a huge sour candy fan and that might be understating it as I ate over half this bag in one sitting. I finally found a candy I consider to be truly sour. If you find most sour candy to be a joke, warheads to be tame, and toxic waste to be fairly bland you're in the same boat as me. My girlfriend and I gave some of these out at a group event and most people were not able to keep a single candy in their mouth until the sour coating dissolved. The reactions of people matched those you'd typically find in youtube videos of people eating these candies. 10/10 would recommend if you love sour candy. The flavour kind of sucks and they're way too expensive IMHO, but, you're not likely to find a more sour candy anywhere so I still give them 5 stars.
