Review: My Plant Based Julie & Julia - This. This is the book. Whether you've never eaten a vegetable in your life or you're a self-proclaimed herbivore, this is the book. I've been following Andy for years and was elated when she announced that she was coming out with a cookbook. However, I had to hold myself accountable for judging this book fairly, and not just decide to like it because she takes great smoothie bowl pictures and has adorable children. (They are so adorable, though!) The day I recieved my book I started reading and before I knew it I was over 50 pages in, hooked, and I hadn't even reached the recipes yet. The book is beautifully laid out, easy to follow, and the pictures are to DIE for. However, the most impressive part of this book is the amount of KNOWLEDGE and EDUCATION she includes! All of my life I have dealt with hypothyroidism symptoms, although I've never been diagnosed, along with many other mystery health issues. Andy does such a great job of explaining her health journey and how plants have helped heal her, while encouraging the reader. It also meant a lot to me that she had a doctor review the book so you know you are getting quality, factual information. I've dabbled in the vegetarian/vegan/plant-based space for a little over a year and I've never felt so excited or inspired to start cooking (& start healing!) My doctor recently asked me to continue being vegetarian while also cutting out gluten, dairy, and soy. This cookbook has made what seemed like a daunting task, effortless. This book has 75 recipes ranging from smoothie bowls, salads, desserts, salad dressings, sides, and more. I appreciate how every recipe has accessible ingredients that can be reused in so many other recipes. For example, she doesn't call for 1 tsp of tarragon in one recipe and then no other recipe uses it so you're stuck with tarragon that you're never going to use. She uses simple ingredients from the earth that can be used in many recipes. (Which helps save money at the grocery store!) As a person that cooks for one, I've found that these recipes are either simple to halve or I can spend a few hours cooking on Sunday and have lots of meals ready for the week! All of her recipes are super flexible so you can add in/take out what you like. For example, I switch out potatoes for sweet potatoes in many of her recipes and everything still tastes delicious! She really encourages you to put your own twist on things. This book also inspired me to do the 30 day plant over processed challenge. I already eat vegan at home but Andy makes such great suggestions like eating lighter to heavier, 80% living foods and 20% cooked. She labels each recipe accordingly which made it a breeze to plan out my weekly meals! I've sort of felt like my own version of "Julie & Julia" cooking my way through this book, a new recipe each day, increasingly excited to create in the kitchen. This book has made my life easier and helped me save money by using seasonal fruits and vegetables and encouraging me to eat at home (and through the 30 day challenge, I've been saving money from not buying alcohol)! I've realized at this point my review might be all over the place. It's because I have so much energy! These recipes are filling and nourishing and leave me filled with energy to take on the day. As a personal project, I have been writing my own reviews for the individual recipes along with tips and tricks that maybe I will share one day! But it has been fun to pretend to be a food blogger through Andy's cookbook. All in all, I couldn't recommend this book more and I'm so thankful to Andy for pouring her heart into it! Review: Pictures of every recipe, YESSSSSS! Truly an awesome book on so many levels. - I picked this up the other day and haven't been able to put it down. You'll be tempted to skip straight to the recipes when it arrives but if you do make sure you flip back to the beginning and read the story. It makes the book make perfect sense. These recipes were chosen with purpose and the story tells why. She also gives a very easy to follow 30 day plant based challenge and reading the book helps you understand where each recipe fits into that challenge. And, yes you'll start noticing a change in how you feel rather quickly! I've been plant based for 25 years but she gave me a completely new outlook on it and I'm doing it better now. I already have more energy after 4 days and my family and I have loved every single thing we've made so far out of this book. The smoothies are soooo delicious. To the naysayers stating recipes have been free on the website, the book gives it all to you with so much more than just recipes. If you want to browse recipes go on the site, if you want to be inspired by the why behind all these recipes along with gorgeous color photographs of every single one get the book. Just get the book! It's food you can feel so good about eating and preparing for your family. Even the couple things I thought I might not like I actually really enjoyed. I've already made some things twice and the smoothies, oh my goodness. And as one reviewer mentioned she felt the main meal recipes were lacking, I'm willing to bet she skipped straight to the recipes and didnt read the story....and too many desserts....no way, we need those healthy desserts too. I love having treats I can feel great about making for my family and that'shard to find. This book will inspire you in so many more ways than a typical cookbook. Andrea, from a plant based michigan mom, I salute you. Great job putting this together, for following your dreams (I've always wanted to create a cookbook), for not giving up when it probably seemed hard, and for successfully converting your burger hubby into this amazing lifestyle. My family also jumped onboard my plant based train a little over a year ago and your book is our new favorite. I so hope you get these reviews because you rock, and don't let the others get you down, you can't please everyone. But, know you have a fan club here at our house!

Visually stunning and delicious healthy recipes inside
This book is amazing. It is way more than a simple cookbook. It is a guide on how to start eating a plant based diet. There are helpful tips and the recipes look healthy and delicious. There are no exotic ingredients that are hard to find. The layout and photos are incredible and creative. The author has a beautiful family and lives in a beautiful place. Even pictures of the silverware and spices are captivating. Looking forward to fully transition to a plant based diet.

Absolutely Must Purchase
So Iโm not one to write a review unless Iโm feeling like itโs life altering haha even tho I rely on them. ;) Everyone can stop their search for a plant based book. This beautiful piece of art is sure to give you a balanced fulfilling and most delicious experience with food! The attention in the photos is so satisfying and keeps your attention making you want to continue to flip through it revisiting it again and again. My kids will just look through it for pure pleasure. The simplicity in the nourishment you are able to take away is so refreshing and not at all overwhelming. Literally every meal we have made is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! We personally already try to strive to eat plants more than processed but this book really helps you nail a routine that fuels and supports the whole family. We are so grateful to have this proudly displayed in our kitchen. There is great variety as well. Something else I enjoy is the nutritional facts provided. Itโs so much more than recipes, itโs guiding your nutrition knowledge. Thank you Andrea for your intentional hard work to give our family something so exciting and delicious! Iโm certain we will be making memories with this gem being a focus. ๐บ MAHALO!

A Must-Buy for Every Kitchen!
I have been following Andy on social media for a while now, and she is truly the one who inspired me to go vegan and adopt a plant-based lifestyle. Prior to the release of her cookbook, I had been making a number of the recipes featured on her Instagram, which tasted delicious and made me feel my best! Because of this, purchasing Andy's cookbook was an easy decision! I highly recommend that you purchase this too as it is both affordable and far more fulfilling than any other cookbook on the market. "Plant Over Processed" is beautifully designed, highly informative, and features a variety of the most unique and tasty recipes that are easy to make. With this being said, the recipes included in this book are so satisfying and delicious that it's hard to believe that they are made with completely plant-based and whole ingredients. As a result, it is impossible for this cookbook to leave you uninspired as you will discover that it will forge you a healthier lifestyle no matter your current way of living and eating.

This Book is a Must Have
I started following Andrea Hanneman back in 2015 when I went plant-based around the same time as her. It was really inspiring to see someone who lived in the same place as me making healthy choices easy and beautiful. Her recipes have inspired me and bettered my food for years now, so of course I had to get her new book on pre-order. Having her book makes cooking the recipes that Iโve been using for years so much easier because instead of scrolling and scrolling trying to find the things I love itโs on my counter easy to find. The cookie dough I used to make and lost the recipe - ITS IN THE BOOK! That was my first vegan dessert Iโd ever made with the coconut ice cream. It brought me back to when cooking like this was all new and overwhelming and I was so surprised to see how good non dairy and meat could be! The day the book arrived, I went to the beach and tagged all the new recipes I wanted to try. Of course theyโre all incredible. In particular I already know a family favorite is going to be the caramel cookie bars. If my husband doesnโt like some thing or just thinks itโs okay heโll ask if I want some but if he loves some thing he says I canโt have it and gets upset if anyone else eats it because he loves it so much. He was extremely territorial over these cookies. Iโve already made them twice and I think Iโve only had the book for a week and a half. The nacho regular cheese and the magic cookies are household staples and people always think itโs my recipe and when they finally ask how I do it I just send them to the @earthyandy Instagram. Thank you so much Andrea for making it so much easier to be plant-based and to show how delicious and beautiful eating plants over processed can be. This book is a MUST HAVE regardless of whether youโre plant based or not.

Excellent but it has left me wanting more...
The introduction is fantastic especially if you are trying to figure out how and find the reasons to switch to a plant based diet. There are definitely some great tips of how to stock your pantry and easy starter recipes. I wish there were more recipes, as a good portion of the book is more of a guide. I certainly hope another cookbook of just recipes is coming out soon because you can never have too many good recipes (and we certainly waited too long for this one). While we're on to recipes, I notice a lot of the desserts of heavy on chocolate. I know after following earthy andy, that is is a huge chocolate lover. I love chocolate as well, but my family doesn't always agree. I just would love some more chocolate free recipes to wow some less than chocolate loving family, after all will need their buy in to go fully plant based. Overall the book is put together fantastically, I think the price point is right and the photos are amazing.

LOVE!!!!!
I want to start off by saying I never ever write reviews on products. But I have been following @eartyandy for a few years and while I am not vegan I found her recipes and family life so appealing. I have been suffering from years of digestion issues. I have been on several diet to try to help my stomach issues. I bought this book because not only did I want to support her work, but because she too suffered from IBS and other digestion issues. I love that she isnโt pushy about going vegan. The whole idea of the book is too choice Whole Foods and not processed foods. I have been trying out recipes for 2 weeks now and I have LOVED every single one of them. I donโt want to be pressured into becoming vegan I want to take my time and see how it fits into my life. And with this book I feel like the recipes are just so delicious that I can see myself continuing with my gut health journey. Thank you Andy!! You guys wonโt be disappointed with your purchase. In 2 weeks I have also lost 5 pounds but I am looking to heal my gut. The pictures are colorful her family is beautiful and the recipes are easy to follow. Many recipes have the same ingredients so I havenโt wasted food. I love it!!!

Author, Test Thy Recipe
Well, I just made the โSoul-hugging Lentil Shepherdโs Pieโ recipe, and while it hits the flavour notes, I cannot say it went quite as the recipe suggests. For example, 1 cup of chopped onion, 4 medium carrots and 3 cups of cooked lentils are meant to simmer in just 1 cup of vegetable stock for 10 to 12 minutes. I ended up using 2 cups and it still was nowhere near enough to make simmering possible. So, I skipped the simmering altogether. Author, test thy recipe.

This book is changing our lives!
This is my favorite book, or I should say: Journey in a book. I am already a vegetarian/Mediterranean so I did not need the extra push to let go of meat/processed food and eat more plants as our Mediterranean diet is full of plants and we make almost everything from scratch (Bread, Jam, canned and fermented goods, etc..). However, Andy was still able to change our lives! We are guilty of buying processed snacks and desserts as it is convenient and it's also hard to find vegan recipes that actually work to be good (My stomach can't tolerate dairy). Ever since I got Andy's book I have been trying out her recipes and I can't express in writing how satisfying and delicious they are, it's a plus to know that you are having something nutritious and not high in sugar; especially when it comes to desserts. I have not even got to my favorite part about this book and that is that it's not simply a cookbook! It's an educational book with a life-changing 30-day challenge that I am following right now. It takes you on a complete journey of learning about Andy's story and feeling like you are having a cup of tea together talking about life. It then moves to talk about the value of plants in a way that is interesting and backed by science. After reading everything Andy has to say about plants it's very hard not to drop everything and go buy a bunch of delicious fruits and vegetables! Andy also includes a detailed essentials list to help you stock your plant-based kitchen. You can find these in any grocery store/farmer's market. She then goes on to introduce a 30-Day challenge to help you kick start your own journey to healing your body with food. And then there's the best part in which Andy includes her recipes that are so delicious and nutritious with equally beautiful photos. Andy then seals the journey with more benefits this diet has on a larger scale and the most beautiful quote. I started my 30-day challenge as soon as I got the book and I already feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. My family and I feel so grateful for this journey in a book. I already have a list of people I want to buy this book for as gifts!

Amazing recipe book! Loved it!
This book is amazing! I am very new to the plant based life and have followed Andrea on Instagram (@earthyandy give her a follow!) so grabbed this book as soon as it was available. The recipes are so simple and easy to follow. Most importantly they are also delicious! Iโve tried all the different smoothie bowls and the chunky monkey really hits the spot when wanting a little chocolatey comfort! The Earth bowls are also amazing - my current favourite is the Teri Poke Bowl. I would 100% recommend this recipe book to everyone (even people who arenโt solely plant based)
