These are great and have held up for almost 5 years so far!
I thought I'd give a review after using the same set for almost 5 years. They still seal well but you have to make sure that you've really sealed them. I use the white sealing clip first to run back and forth across the seal (to save my fingers). Then I use my fingers to really make sure it's evenly sealed and sometimes have to pinch it closed and run my fingers along the seal til it's smooth. The little vacuum pump works great and is rechargeable. If it doesn't vacuum well, then recheck the zipper seal. As soon as I pop the pump off the bag, I put my finger on the air valve to make sure it's closed and sealed. It doesn't say to do this, it's just something I've always done. I've never had to replace the air valve on any bags. I wash the bags in soapy water and let them air dry and store them flat. I have reused them now for almost 5 years. I haven't found that they hold odors or stains. A couple have worn out but the rest are still holding the seal and I've never had any trouble with the pump. I use them to store food in the freezer and they lay flat and take up less room than containers. Work great for freezing tortillas. I've used them in the fridge to store various odd shaped things without using the vacuum seal instead of using disposal ziplock bags. I also use them to store foods in the cupboard on occasion. I've never used them for liquids or as sous vida bags. So with this track record I recommend them highly for freezer, fridge & cupboard use.

Works like it's supposed to, is very easy to use, and has many uses
I bought it to seal my seeds, and needed heavy duty freezer vacuum bags that are reusable for when I need to pull seeds out to plant, then reseal the remaining seed stock. It works well, and is very convenient. The little pump is sufficient... it will pull the necessary vacuum, but is fairly slow. But the convenience of a rechargeable small pump makes it fine for this use. If I was going to do a whole lot at a time, I'd probably rig up my commercial vacuum pump, but it's not worth the effort for as easy as it is to just grab this little unit. The bags are basically a heavy duty ZipLok freezer bag, but with the textured surface on the inside for the air to flow, and the simple check valve that the pump sets on, seals via the silicone rubber ring on the pump, and allows the pump to extract the air. It takes a few seconds for the check valve to open up, but when it does, you can then see the bag start to collapse as the air is sucked out. Great little product for the price and does what other things can't do. I'll be interested to try it on sous vide, but that's not what I bought it for... that'll just be a bonus. I do use it to store my homemade bread in. I make two loaves at a time, and one loaf get put in one of these bags, extract just enough air until the bread compresses slightly, then into the freezer. No ice crystals and it thaws perfectly. The loaf that I'm using goes into one of the large 12x13" bags, and again, I pull just enough air out until you see a slight compression of the bread... now it's sealed from mold spores and stays fresh for a very long time. It's not that hard to pull a vacuum on it after taking the loaf out to slice some pieces off of it, and the pump is compact enough to just leave on the counter. It also works great for putting tortilla chips in. When we get the big bag of tortilla chips from COSTCO, the first thing is take out as many as will fit into one of these large vacuum bags and pulling a vacuum on it. The chips stay fresh, which they won't in the opened store bag they came in. Extra produce from the farm [tomato and pepper slices first frozen on a cookie sheet] can go into these bags and then into the freezer. You can pull out "fresh" tomato and peppers to use, then re-vacuum the bag to keep ice crystals from forming on the pieces. Works great for cookies and other snacks that will go stale. Basically, anything that I need access to that the Food Saver permanently sealed bags aren't practical for, these get used. I have found that the valves do sometimes slightly leak over time, so I usually put a small piece of thin film tape [like packing tape, with a folded over section for a pull tab] over the suction valve after I've pulled the vacuum, which can be reused every time. Great little product, and I bought 3 kits for the farm.

Good while it lasted, get the extended warranty!!!
I purchased this item on January 6th, 2021. I have used this with multiple items I wanted to freeze, vegetables, meat, etc., items in the fridge like cheeses & veggies & it worked well. I did try to marinate a steak & seal it, there was a small amount of liquid that kept getting sucked into the unit & it wouldn't work, so that was a no go, but I wanted to try. Other than that, it was working fine. Skip forward to today, February 13th, 2021, I charged the unit this morning & while unplugging it, the whole charging port came out of the unit with the cable. I am out of my return window as of February 8th & can not return it. The suction unit obviously doesn't work now & I can't find any information as to how to return it to the manufacturer for replacement. If you purchase this item, I highly recommend getting the protection plan. I have already ordered smaller bags & can't return those after all of this, so another purchase will have to be made, with a protection plan. I will update this review if further issues occur after the next purchase, with the warranty.

A BIG disappoinment.
As I regularily save bulk meat purchases in smaller portions, I was really looking forward to reusable bags as well as the ability to vacuum seal it. I initially tested the vacuum sealing on a random product, and it took several tries before I figured out that you REALLY have to make sure that you have the strip sealed completely. Even then, it didn't seem to hold the vacuum after a few hours. No problem, I could live with that especially since I mostly freeze the meat and it would probably be frozen before it started to lose the vacuum. However, a few days later I decided to use it to vacuum seal a marinade. The liquid was way below the top fill line, I used the liquid attachment, but I could immediately see that it was sucking up too much of the liquid. No problem.... that's not why I initially bought it, so I just disconected and let my meat marinade the usual way. But, that was the end of the vacuum. First it wouldn't start. I shook it a few times and it started but I could not longer turn it off. So that was it's funeral. On another note, I had used two bags by this time; one for the marinade, and a second for some chopped carrots. As I was returning the product, I obviously had to clean the bags. It was not only cumbersome to clean the bags, but they both had residual stains. This has unfortunately turned me off from any other resealable/vacuum product. I wish I had pictures, but I am writing this after I had already returned the item.

Special vacuum for this bag only
I thought these bags required any type of vacuum but it has to be this type of vacuum concentrate on small hole. Works best flat surfaced leave valve to be flat to bottom liner and it works great

Adequate but still cautious
The handheld is fairly easy to use. It's take out of the box ready. It does take a bit to get used to where to hold and how much pressure to use. For the most part it seals the bags, but make sure to use the white plastic sealing tools, as the ziploc mechanism is doesn't seal correctly and you won't get any suction and seal if any part is left open. You uat hold the handheld straight and exactly where it says or it stops sucking out the air. The instructions say it will change sounds (like a food saver does) stop automatically. I can tell when it changes tone, but I have never had it successfully stop automatically. I find that since it never stops, it's best to stop it, hold the seal tight for a second and then remove the handheld. It seals most of the time, but not every time. The bags are about the thickness of a regularly throw away ziploc, or much the same as a throw away foodsaver. I have washed them. I haven't had them long enough to see how the bags and ziploc on top will last. So I'm not sure about the long term reusablility. I'm a bit sceptical. I will update as I use them more. For now I reseal my cheeses, deli meat, veggies and hard fruits. I haven't done anything for the freezer yet.
