I had to leave this review!
Greetings from Germany! I must admit, I was not most convinced this was going to work when I placed the order. I mean, I had nearly purchased Hairprint after all :). However, while Googling for something on the lines of Hairprint, albeit with less mess, I got a hit with Amazon.com web page for Deity Color Change Shampoo. So, instead of Hairprint, I clicked "Order Now" for Deity. The BEST impulse shopping I EVER did :D I live in Germany, so the package took a good 3 weeks to arrive - not the fault of shipping company - it's the German customs office (Zollamt) at the port of entry plus all the public holidays + bridge days. Regardless, my parcel arrived. However, as I was following the Hairprint instructions, I decided to wait a couple more weeks, you know, let my grays grow out to 5 cm. Finally applied it this evening after putting my little one to bed. HAPPY!! And no funky colored scalp either!! I have to say, the smell was not what I had expected. I had read few other reviews that said it *stinks*. NO, it does NOT stink. If anybody ever worked in a garden or a field, there are certain types of grass or shrubs that smell this way, and wet earth. It's a very "botanical" smell no doubt, but not *stink*. Actually I didn't mind it at all. Reminded me of the times I would go salad picking on my parents-in-laws' farm in Austria :) A bit about my hair - I have naturally dark hair. I am from India and have rather coarse texture to my hair naturally. Anyway, I wet my hair a bit in the shower, towel dried them, applied Deity right out of the pouch by squeezing a bit at a time directly on damp hair. Massaged it in for 10 minutes. Left it on for another 20 min - that was not intentional though. I meant to leave it on for another 10 minutes, but forgot to set the timer, and the book I was reading was a chicklit romance ;). Washed it out after - used rather warm water than lukewarm. Washed for a really long time to make sure the water was 100% clear finally. I noticed that I lost *less* hair than I normally do on my hair-wash day. The hair itself was rather dry and rough to touch, but I just used my regular conditioner and that sorted it out!. I naturally have very very dry and rough hair. So it didn't really feel an different than it would if I washed my hair using a drug store shampoo without oiling them first. Dried the hair using hair drier, and then checked what was the result. ALL my grays are covered. Well, I did miss a spot close to the roots so there the hair still look rather very very dull gray, but otherwise, my hair look the same color they did about 25 years ago. I started going gray very early, around 18, I am 43 now. I have always colored my hair with chemical hair colors all this while. And as a result I am "blessed" with the 1/3rd the hair I had 20 years ago :( when I washed off the Deity I had less hair in the drain than I have ever had in last 15 or so years! Barring the rough feeling hair after washing off - that was easily fixed with my regular conditioner - I have only the positive things to say about Deity. I will for sure will reorder. Even though one has to pay customs duty even on the products bought off Amazon - only the goods worth EUR 20 including shipping are duty free :( - I will buy this again! I will also buy some for my mother who lives in India. On a side note - Deity. could you please have a local Amazon store for Germany? I don't want to wait this long for each order. And I would love it to not have to pay customs duty every time :D. Thank you Deity!!!

Boom Pow - My Hair Looks Great!
So, I too saw a woman on YouTube boasting of the natural product that helped wash the gray away on her natural textured hair. I was impressed and since I'm all about natural products that don't cause cancer and such, I was totally on board. I do like the fact that I received 6 shampoo packets in this box because the average cost of a traditional hair dye is around $5.99-$7.99 USD. However, the cost of this Color Change Shampoo is priceless because it uses natural herbs and such to reverse the gray and color your hair. Do your due diligence ladies and gents. If you use traditional hair dyes/shampoos, there are ingredients such as: Dimethicone, Cocamide DEA, Sodium Lauryl/Laureth, Propylene Glycol, etc., then steer clear!!! These are toxic and can cause organ system toxicity, immunotoxicity, skin allergies, birth defects, blindness, cancer and so much more. Furthermore, sulfates, phytlfates are damaging to your hair and cause it to become dull, dry, brittle, and hard to manage. Make the choice to go natural with your products, and please...read your labels! Pros: -Herbal plant extract used to color my hair -Quick 7-10 minute application -Saw quick results in less than 2 minutes, but continued massaging my hair as instructed to make sure to wash away any gray completely -No toxic side-effects -Great on my natural hair -Portable (can travel with this instead of some messy box with applicator bottle and such. Just pack this away with some disposable gloves and I'm good to go) -Increases scalp circulation -Long lasting (I had no problems after co-washing my hair either) Sulfates strip your hair, so if you use a shampoo that lathers, you are doing more detriment to your hair. -Reasonable price (cost effective for numerous washes) Cons: -None reported. However, this product states that it does NOT stain your head and it doesn't. Yet, my glove broke and one of my fingernails turned dark. This was easily remedied with a magic stain eraser (white puff used in household cleaning- who knew it has that many utilizations). About the Seller: I ordered my Color Change Shampoo - Natural Herbal 2 in 1 Formula from Deity America sold by Nature Complex on 8/6/13 and it arrived on 8/9/13...on time (earlier than I anticipated) and neatly packaged. I was not compensated by the seller in order to give this review. This is an unbiased review and equitable opinion on this natural, herbal hair care product. Recommendations: To the Manufacturer: Perhaps creating multiple color options outside of black if possible would be helpful for those of us who do not necessarily want black hair, but rather just to cover the gray (Ex. - chestnut brown, dark brown, etc.). To Potential Customers: This is a wonderful alternative to traditional, toxic hair coloring. If you're on the fence, get off and get on with this product. I will state that if you have other coloring in your hair from previous treatments, it will strip it out and you will become totally black haired. If you don't mind, go for it. I am not a medical doctor. However, I do my research into determine clinical trials that help me better understand beauty and healthcare products I use on a daily basis. Hope this helps!

It Works and the Color Lasts
I was skeptical about a "shampoo" that dyes gray roots and shampoos at the same time. But I was looking for something more natural, and--to be honest--I'm taking the word of others who are saying this is a natural product. It does smell like medicinal herbs and not chemicals. I have not seen the YouTube video, so I was confused by the instructions. Do I massage for 10 minutes and then rinse, or do I massage for 10 minutes and then leave it on for another 10 minutes? Should I mix the two creams on my head or should I put it in a bowl first and then apply? Should I make my hair very wet or just damp? Because this hair dye is so different from others I've used in the past, there is a learning curve. Be aware that although it doesn't stain skin as dark as conventional dyes, it can stain your skin. I am Asian with long, straight hair, so I thought I could pile all my hair on top of my head as I do with other dyes, but the first time I used Deity, my hair kept falling on shoulders and staining them black! LOL. The second time I used it, I braided my hair and put the dye only on my roots, which worked much better. But because I forgot to wet my hair first, I wasn't able to spread the cream to all of my roots, so I concentrated on my part and hairline and got great results. I don't know the science behind this shampoo, but massaging it for 10 minutes and rinsing worked, even when I forgot to wet my hair before application. Perhaps the heat from your scalp and/or the heat from the friction of the massage helps facilitate the color change. I just know I like it better than anything else I've ever tried. The conventional cream dyes are very messy and take a lot of water to rinse out; the conventional foam dyes are less messy but the color fades fast. I haven't tried henna, but the process sounds like a lot of work. With Deity, I go in the shower, wet my hair, work the cream onto my roots for 10 minutes, rinse, apply deep conditioner and rinse. Pros: The color lasts. The directions say use it every time you shampoo, so I was concerned I'd be using a whole box of 6 packets in a week, since I have very oily hair. But no worries--you can shampoo your hair in-between dyes with regular shampoo and not experience color fade. Deity rinses out quickly and easily. One box has 6 packets, so you save money. No coal tar. No itchy scalp post-coloring. Cons: The plastic gloves included in the box are the flimsiest gloves I've ever seen. :) I don't think it's possible to massage your hair for even a few minutes without making at least one hole in the fingers, as I did the first time, even with my short fingernails. Buy decent rubber gloves, and then you can use the paper-thin gloves for rinsing only. I believe Deity Shampoo only comes in black, so you're out of luck unless you want black hair. It doesn't give you subtle shades or color gradations, but I never really noticed those with even the expensive at-home "professional grade" hair color brands I've tried over the years.

pretty dry hair that is 30% gray primarily in the ...
I am a natural with 4b, coily, pretty dry hair that is 30% gray primarily in the front and around my edges. I purchased this probably a year ago. My hair is not a big fan of shampoos but I wanted to have a color option other than the permanent color I was using. I tried it a few times but it is a shampoo and was really harsh on my hair, so I just left it on the shelf. A few weeks ago I purchased the wrong box color and really needed to cover my gray. So I took 1 pack and mixed it with about 2 to 3 oz of conditioner. I applied it to my hair and let it sit for 30 minutes. I had the best color coverage and my hair was still soft and manageable. I typically do a clay mask once or twice a week for about an hour. I wasn't sure if the color would hold with the use of clay. I have cleansed my hair at least 5 times and have used clay 3 times and the color is still holding. I haven't been using it long to state how it works long term. I plan on using it once every 3 to 4 weeks. This is a great replacement for my permanent color which I only applied every 3 months to prevent damage. That left me with gray hair for at least 4 weeks.

AWESOME - NO MORE GRAY!
Only once have I ever had my hair colored (in a beauty salon), but I did not like the burning sensation on my scalp during the hair coloring procedure, and I was concerned about the harsh chemicals entering my skin. After that, I never had my hair colored again. Many years later, now in my early 60s and with more gray, I reconsidered having my hair colored, but I liked my hair very long. When I asked beauty salons for price quotes, they would say "over $100" because of the amount of time spent and coloring products used. Alternatively, I decided to find a natural product that I could use myself, preferably a shampoo-in type, which I found on Amazon. Wow - what an awesome transformation! I went from gray to black in 10 minutes without the burning sensation nor the 45-minute wait, so CHEAP, and I did it myself. (I use two Deity packets for my long hair.) The results were amazing: My hair was soft/silky and beautifully black, taking 10 years off my looks. My beau said I looked great. As a general rule, I use natural products, including makeup (Zuzu), body lotion (Kiss My Face), face lotions (Burt's Bees and Vitacost CSI), soap bar (South of France), shampoo/conditioner (Naturegate), etc. Although Deity manufacturer recommends using the product each time you shampoo, I only need to color my hair with Deity hair color shampoo once every two months, when the gray hair grows out. Bottom line: The product is natural, comes with gloves, so inexpensive, and so easy to use. It is one of my best keep secrets! -"Victoria C."

Not strong enough to cover gray
Although I followed the direction of the time to massage in - 10 minutes - the color does not last for a single treatment. Once I wash the shampoo color out, there is still much signs of gray at the hair roots. It is not strong enough to cover gray!

Deity America, PLEASE LIST FULL INGREDIENTS FOR COLOR CHANGE SHAMPOO
I'll get to why I gave this product a 1 star in the end. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PRODUCT: I used the product as suggested, but only at my roots where my Asian hair is ~25% white. I had about 1-inch white roots. I do not use store brand hair dyes; I use henna & indigo only. H & I work pretty well but requires several applications, and it usually does not cover gray roots where the hair is the strongest. That is why I decided to try Deity America’s color change shampoo packet. After rinsing the product out, I was stunned to find that it worked really well – but in my opinion, TOO WELL based on the claim that it is all herbal. My stubborn white hair WAS completely covered in a jet-black color. Amazing, since it only took 10 minutes. I also did not experience any of the side effects like rashes and blisters, as some of the reviewers spoke of, but I did feel a slight burning sensation at my scalp, the same feeling you get when you use store-bought dyes with all the harsh chemicals. Additionally, the parts of my hair that I used the product felt dry, and the shine and smoothness was stripped out. Not completely, but noticeably different than even the ends of my hair. That said, I AM 99% CERTAIN THIS PRODUCT USES DEVELOPERS SUCH AS AMMONIA OR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. Over time those chemicals make my hair feel like a bird’s nest with no shine or movement. That is why I switched over to H & I. Chemicals like ammonia and hydrogen peroxide damage the hair by lifting the scales of your hair and depositing the dye underneath. Natural plant-based dyes only deposit on top. THE PACKAGE MAKES THESE WILD CLAIMS: - Turns white/gray hair into black in 5-10 minutes (It does) - Promotes cells of hair follicles to re-grow healthy and strong (No way to know if this is true) - Cleans obstruction of hair follicles for fast growth and easy coloring (huh? “Cleans” can be replaced with “strips” but who knows about the cleaning obstruction part) - Increases blood circulation of scalp (how so?) - Controls secretion of hair oils (Your scalp needs to do this. Your natural scalp oil protects your hair) - Will not color or stain your scalp (It doesn’t) - It moisturizes, grows, and strengthens hair naturally (Does the opposite of moisturize, the other two is something your hair does anyways) - They tout using hi-tech distillation methods to extract herbal properties (Americans, don’t be stupid and fall for these buzz words that mean nothing.) - It’s a one-step time-saving formula (It is) - THEIR WORST LIE, in my opinion: Colors hair naturally with Tibet herbs, Tibet ginseng, Tibet red flower, Leaves of Chinese arborvitae and several herbal plants. They may shove some plants from Tibet just to say they do, but I don’t believe they are the mechanism that changes hair color so quickly. WHAT YOU ARE REALLY PURCHASING: You are not purchasing a chemical-free herbal natural method of coloring your hair. You are purchasing a unique packaging system, which is actually quite genius. Inside the little packet is the dye separated from the developer, which has some shampoo in it, I’m assuming. When you squeeze it out, you mix the two, just like your hairdresser does when she prepares hair dyes with the developer. The convenience is it’s a perfect size to just do the roots quickly, and to be fair it does do just that. WHY I GAVE IT A 1-STAR: Because they are using vague and deceptive marketing schemes. I purchased because I didn’t think that it used harsh chemicals, and as I said above, I AM 99% CERTAIN IT DOES AND I CHALLENGE DEITY AMERICA PROVE ME OTHERWISE with a full chemical analysis report. They should just advertise it as a quick and convenient way to wash out those gray hairs and leave the herbal BS out. In that case, if they were honest, I would give it a 5-star review because it does cover grays very well. If you don’t care about chemicals and developers in your hair product, then you will enjoy this product. WARNING: The instructions say to use the product every time you wash your hair. IN NO WAY SHOULD YOU DO THIS! You will quickly end up with dried out hair no different than what any other chemical hair dye does to your hair. DEITY AMERICA, I AM WILLING TO CHANGE THE 1-STAR REVIEW IF YOU POST ALL THE INGREDIENTS USED IN THIS PRODUCT. But according to reviews, your customer service is below par so I’m sure you will just ignore this. I may just have to pay a chemical lab run an analysis for me. When I do, I’ll update this review.

I've been using this shampoo for about 8 months or so and its great. I started going grey in 9th grade (yes that early) and I've been dying my hair black ever since. The issue I was facing was having to use a permanent dye in my hair monthly and putting harsh chemicals in my hair was not good. I then went to a "natural" dye, which was dying my hair. Then I went to semi, Demi, rinse...all with they're own issues as to why hey didn't work well or last long. I was still having to do it monthly or sooner with the other products. One day while in a health food store I came across this dying shampoo. I tried it thinking it wouldn't work and was so surprised when it did. I've never gone back to another product. And it does not matter how often I have to use it because it's not damaging. Don't forget you have to massage it in your hair and leave for a little bit. I always put a plastic cap on and massage it into my hair while the cap creates warmth on its own. Great product. Price is much better on Amazon than I've seen in the stores.
