Best phone set I have ever owned
I own several of these - a 6-set system for my home line, a 3-set system for my office, and a 3-set system for our vacation home. The handsets are versatile and interchangeable by "registering" them with the home base to which they will ring. I have moved handsets from one system to another. They are very clear, and can work from quite a distance. I have a handset in the basement on the opposite end of the house from its base unit upstairs and it works perfectly.

Over 2 years, liking & using it
Bought this cordless handset to add to my AT&T cordless set. The features I like and USE are the; answer by pressing any button to connect, great in the dark; the voice ID is good but pronouncement is usually a little off; the handset-to-handset intercom works great; different ring for each handset; the handset name feature such as bedroom, office, kitchen, etc.; play caller message at any handset; back lit key pad buttons, but not the other buttons (would have been nice!). The things I don't like (cons) are; the large silver button has stamped text that has with no contrasting color and is very hard to read; the shape of the handset is not a very good ergonomic design. These are both minor flaws and take some time getting used to. As with most newer cordless phones this handset uses HiMH batteries which charge better (no memory problem like the NiCad batteries) and last longer. Over two years of use and have not replaced the battery.

Excellent Sound Quality - Very Satisfied
I bought the Model CL81201 (two handsets) two years ago. The base on this unit is without the answering system. I had no need for one since I subscribe to and prefer voice mail. I have been totally satisfied with the phone. The sound quality is excellent; range from base is exceptional and the display is very readable since it is backlighted. Recently I added a third handset and while shopping for one I found that the additional stand alone handset (Model CL80101) is fully compatible but does not match in color. The base and handsets that came with original purchase are white and light gray. The new handset and charging stand are black, silver and dark gray. After some research, I found that the additional handsets being sold only match the original system with the answering system. No handsets can be found that match the original unit I bought without the answering system. Of course this doesn't matter, since the different handset will be at a different location in my home. What annoys me is if one had to replace a handset for the original purchase, their colors would not match. For this reason, I will rate this review with 4 stars but otherwise I would have given it a perfect five.

Rugged, attractive, and functional this handset exceeds my expectations.
This makes the third AT&T handset. It functions just as flawless as my other two in this set. You can talk for hours at a time and never have the battery conk out on you. One of my favorite features is the ability to use these handsets as walkie/talkies. Being able to do that, saves quite a few steps to a different level of you house or to speak to someone in one of your outbuildings. We've had the first two for several years, and while I don't recommend it, I dropped one in a pan of paint and it never missed a beat.

Great Phone... Intercom System is Excellent
Bought this handset to go with the original package that included 4 handsets. We now have 5 total. We have 1 upstairs in livingroom, 1 downstairs in livingroom, and 1 in each of 3 kids rooms. Each phone can be set to a different ring tone. You can transfer a call to any of the handsets in stead of yelling for them to "get the phone". There is an intercom system so that you can call any of the handsets individually or all together. There is also another intercom feature that allows you to call and talk through any or all of the handsets like a speaker system, which is good for announcing "dinner is ready".... These phones have to be one of my better investments. Highly recommended to anyone with phones in several parts of the house, especially with kids. Also, the voice caller ID is nice, it can announce who is calling, so you don't have to go to the phone to read the caller ID.

AT&T DECT 6.0 extra handset "registration" ha!
We have a 4-set AT&T DECT 6.0 cordless phone system in the house and one of the sets kept giving me a "No Can do- Try Again" message so I ordered an extra handset specifically for this model, ensuring that I was doing so; it came pronto and I dutifully charged it first in its own charger, then followed the instructions to register it in our main cradle, so that it would recognize or be recognized or assume our hone phone number , whatever, well, it failed and failed and failed again many times. So I guess this just doesn't work. Oh, well, it was only twenty -something by the time I signed up for Prime, so I will just throw the damn thing away.

Look Around ... Amazon has got the right price and qualiity for you !!!!! AND they stand BEHIND there merchandise 100%!!!!
I had been having trouble with my phone lines for quite some time, my sister ,my friends, etc kept telling me that every time they called me that my line was busy ( which I have Call Waiting), or my phone just kept ringing & ringing(which I have a Answering Machine on it all the time!)I called Cox Several times... ...They came out several times and found nothing wrong...I even had two men that were here for at least 21/2/ hours, they replaced several jacks, checked my Cox Box...Nothing !! They gave there report to the office.. and a women called me and said she thought I had to have a short in a wire somewhere, because, everytime the service people would come out, my phones were working fine!! Finally, they sent a Senior Service man out, he said my lines checked out again ok..My house was built in 1957 so the house is old..he suggested putting all my phone on a Monitor..Something Farely New...What did I have to loose...Accept that I had purchased a whole new phone system only a few months before this, as I thought the old phones were causing the problems...I went on line as I lost out using my Living Room Phone, as it could not be plugged into a jack, only a plug socket. I went on line an sure enough< AMAZON had exactly what I needed and sent it out right away, I received it in about four days or so..It was as EASY AS THAT....At first...I thought, HOW AM i GOING TO FIND A PHONE TO WORK WITH MY PHONES SYTEM..SO I WENT ONLINE..

What to do if it shows "Out of range OR No pwr at base" and won't pair to your base station
When I received this handset, it displayed the message "Out of range OR No pwr at base" and it could not be paired (registered) to my base station because it was already registered to another base. We finally found a way to make it work: To reset the handset to factory defaults and allow it to be paired (registered) to another base station, enter this code on the handset's keypad: *331734# then press the [Menu/Select] button. The handset beeps twice and it will be ready to register to the base station when it displays a message such as "Put HS on Base to register." Place the handset into the base station cradle and in less than 90 seconds it will beep and it's ready to use. Now it works great! The sound quality is good, just like our other handsets we've been using for many years on the same base station. We use this handset in the basement to replace an older phone. The intercom function to talk between handsets is great for calling people to dinner!

Great Wireless Phone System with Easy Add-Ons
The AT&T wireless phone system with answering machine and intercom was purchased several years ago, and has provided good service, with clear reception to all handsets throughout the house and exceptional handset battery life. This separate handset was purchased as an add-on unit (making 4 in all) after moving house and finding the need for a phone in a basement room. Adding it to the existing system was very easy, and we have experienced no problems at all, even converting seamlessly from a land-line to a VOIP service. Highly recommended, as is the original AT&T system.

It's not bad....
We had this great set of cordless phones, but had them for about 10 years and were getting tired of replacing the batteries. So, it was time to get some new ones. After all the research, we settled on these ones. Well - they're OKAY... but not what we're used to. Pros: I like how the numbers are back-lit in orange - pretty clear; The screen is and clear; I like how the name that you program in to the phone book is what shows up, rather than what the phone company programs in to display; The ring tones included are "okay" but not fantastic; Cons: The weight of the base - they are SO LIGHT - they can easily tip over (saw this in another review, but didn't stop me from buying, obviously); Disappointed in how the connect and disconnect buttons don't light up; I don't like the fact that there is no call waiting indicator LIGHT; I would prefer a base that includes a keypad/speaker phone built in; Biggest disappointment is that you can't program phone numbers with particular ringtones, so you know whether to go running for the phone or not :-) Last thing - you'd better be sure you mean to delete someone from the CID list, because it doesn't ask if you're sure you want to delete!
