Worked like a charm!
2002 Honda CR-V: key became stuck in ignition cylinder; couldnt operate vehicle. New ignition assembly was going to cost between $700 and $1000! Searched the internet and found this ignition cylinder by 3mirrors. It just sounded too good to be true, so (thinking I was probably throwing my money away) I ordered it. I removed the entire ignition assembly from the steering column. Then I removed the chip-reader components (two black plastic parts on the "key end" of assembly). Using the old key still trapped in the cylinder, I pulled the old cylinder out of the assembly. I inserted a new key into the new cylinder and slid it into the assembly. To my utter astonishment, it snapped right into place! A perfect fit! I then cut my old key open and removed the chip from it. I loaded the chip into the new key. I re-attached the ignition assembly to the steering column, re-connected all the wires, and the car started right up! I couldn't be happier with this product! It saved me a bunch of money! A couple of hints: 1) There are several videos on YouTube describing this repair. Although they may not be working on your specific model/year Honda, they can be a great help for someone who has never pulled an ignition assembly. Utilize this help. 2) Most of these ignition assemblies are secured to the steering column with security bolts (the heads break off at installation). Use a dremel tool to cut slots in the tops of these bolts, then you can remove them with a plain screwdriver. Replace them with bolts of the same thread pattern an length. 3) It is easiest to perform this repair by pulling the entire ignition assembly out of the car. When doing so, you must diconnect several electrical connectors. DO NOT MESS WITH YELLOW CONNECTORS! They are part of your airbag system and do not connect to the ignition assembly. Also, it is best to disconnect the negative lead from the car's battery before beginning this repair. 4) The only adjustment I had to make was re-aligning the ignition switch (white component at the opposite end of assembly from key-side). This required removing it, making sure it was aligned well, and re-attaching it. I hope this helps!

Well worth the time to install
Installed in about 2 hours on an 05 Civic. The local auto parts store wanted $450 and the locksmith wanted $200 for programing the security feature. The cylinder was installed and the chip was cut out of the old key and put in the new set of keys. It started right up without an issue. The hardest part was drilling out the pin holding in the old cylinder. Simply remove the tab from the column, the trim piece is enough to hold the new piece securely. I saved almost $650 ordering this and almost $950 doing it myself.

2007 HONDA CIVIC- it works, save$$$
I ordered this in hopes of saving money. At this point in my cars life, that expensive of a repair for something so stupid hurts. The BudgetClan you tube video shows how to remove lock cylinder. My car had 4 screws, not 3. That last one... you can see it, it's just in a tight tricky spot. I did have to purchase a right angle screw driver ($10) to remove it. I had to drill the pin out, I tried giggling and shaking but no luck. I used a 7/32nd bit and found the chamber. If you know how to use tools, you can find the videos and do this! As for the key, I had two old remote keys and took the superglued one apart. I took the board and battery piece out that holds the transponder (it has its own tiny plastic housing), and it's electrical tapped to the key for now. It starts and stays running. The only thing that feels different, is you have to push the key in pretty firmly to enable it to both turn to start and turn off. Otherwise it feels stuck. Maybe this loosens out? Or is just a part of "this" parts design, but if the key feels stuck, try pushing in and turning. I'll follow up on length of use later.

It did work on my 2003 honda civic
I want to give it five stars but i also want to give it three.. it did work and is much better then my screw driver but it didn’t come with the roll pin and the latch part was different then the oem. Overall I am happy with it though.

2004 Honda Civic LX
This was the perfect fit. The only challenge was getting the chip out of the old key and into the new one. I ended up using my 3D molding gel I have for my nail art to plug up the hole and topped it off with a lil cat eye number for that razor dazzle 😂

OK replacement
It's an OK replacement cylinder but it does not come with a roll pin, so if you end up drilling out the old one, you won't have one to put back in. Another issue is that the keys do not go into it smoothly. They have very sharp edges where they were cut. Normally a locksmith will run the keys over a wire brush after cutting new ones. I am sure they will eventually smooth out as they wear. The last issue is with the chip compartment. Once I put them chip into it, the cover would not fit and so I could not snap it in. Maybe it fits other models/years but does not 2008 Honda Fit. For now, I used rubber glue to secure the chip inside the key and then wrapped it with electrical tape. The tape is temporary, I'll figure out something permanent later.

Perfect for 2010 Honda Civic. Clicks right in and doesn't even really require a roll pin to hold it in. Here's a tip. Cut the key out of the plastic, 3d print yourself a new key fob. The end of the metal part doesn't have the wings an hem key has so you will have to super glue the metal key into your newly 3d printed fob. Now you can put the chip/ buttons and key into the same fob. Just sand off any super glue and hit the area with a torch quickly and the shine will come back. Thangsdotcom has different designs of fobs for free download.

My original key for my 2007 Honda Civic would no longer go into the ignition(we think a pin might very broken). Therefore, we took the whole thing out to start my car with a screw driver to get it back home, but due to the theft security it wouldn't work. (We managed to glitch the system for it to turn on once and bring it home thank god) All this to say I needed a new ignition with a key that the chip could be placed in and this was perfect. The downside about this is that it took a long time to receive my order about 2-3 weeks. And as it said it should, the chip didn't fit in the box properly, we couldn't close it. But with some help with other reviews, duck tape did the job to hold it together and it worked.
