SERIES SUMMARY: In this sequel series to To Love Ru, the Shonen Jump hit that inspired multiple anime, Princess Lala's younger sister Momo begins her own marital machinations to ensnare poor Rito. But to make her plan a reality, he has to become king of their interstellar empire, which would allow him to marry as many women as he wants! As Rito's heart continues to waver between Lala and his first crush, Haruna, Momo finds herself unable to deny the feelings she has for the hapless earthling high schooler. Could a human alien harem be the solution to all their problems? VOLUME SUMMARY: THE FINAL VOLUME - EDGING TOWARD AN EXPLOSIVE CLIMAX! Now that Yami has confessed her feelings, Rito has a decision to make. There's Haruna. Then there's Momo. Even Nemesis gets in on the action, announcing her love for Rito in front of the entire student body. Is the Harem Plan destined to fail?! So many girls have feelings for Rito that there just isn't enough of him to go around-until a cloning experiment gone wrong leaves the school suffering the exact opposite problem. Review: I like manga. - Fun series, lots of ecchi romcom. Review: As good as it's prequel, if not better. - I had bought all the previous volumes of 'To Love RU Darkness', so I had to buy the final one otherwise it's not complete. I enjoyed the series which is a sequel to 'Love Ru', which I also have as a complete collection. The story line was good & the artwork very good, I'm glad that I have now have both sets. Shall have to start collecting another series I guess!

Lackluster ending to what was once a good series...
As much as I love this artist... the ending was lackluster and not on par with the original To Love Ru series. Towards the end of TLR Darkness there was no storyline, & the nudity was more gratuitous than humorous. In the original it was much tamer, yes- there were the typical harem grabs, pantsu shots, flashes etc. but TLR Darkness takes it to a new level of debauchery... as Rito now performs oral*** in his sleep. It's gets downright cringey! I'm not sure what the artist was trying to accomplish by upping the ante to this degree... shock value? Who knows... But take that away, you have a weak story with an ending so pathetic you question your years of fandom. Spoilers: What more can be done in a future series? 36 volumes exist, & Rito has only just told Haruna how he feels... every other girl has communicated her feelings only to be rejected. And poor Lala... we're all just waiting for the axe to drop, because even though he cares for her he was ready to break up with her until Haruna stopped him (because he started crying). In TLR Darkness Rito takes being spineless to a whole new level. And I can't reiterate enough the art has become so lewd it makes me feel dirty reading it. Enough is enough. If I'm going to read another TLR series it needs to have a better story & stop relying on cheap tricks to distract us from what it's lacking. Substance.
