Very reliable little machine, very functional
Easily programmable, works as expected, i used them to produce sound effects when triggered, installed in March and all of them still working well now, 7 months later, used for about 12 hours a day

Great customer service
Item arrived faulty, and I accept that there will always be some small percentage of bad batches with electronics. It's no different than my steelseries headset arriving faulty. It happens. Refund promptly given and ordered replacement which is exactly what I need. Works great and very small and compact. Would recommend

Great but with cavets
They are impressive in the way they simplify all the MP3 playback. So very happy about them in that sense. The documentation on the seller's web blog is really great, hats off! On the other hand: 1. There is no visual, light, or indication that the module is on (if you connect the speaker, you will hear some polarization sound in the speaker) 2. There is no way to start playing songs by default, and it was hard to figure out if it is working without an MCU. Eventually, I used the AD mode to select segment 1 (song 1) by LOW-ing (as it needs a 0 Ohm resistor) on ADKEY_1 to trigger playing, and that worked well 3. I read that internal DACs are noisy and hissy, so better to use external DACs like PAM8403 to noticeably improve. Didn't try to see the diff yet, but yes, the sound quality was not that great with just the SPEAKER output

You need to understand electronic circutes to use it.
Works great

Clear sound with a speaker
I've used this for an easy way to make a bark for my robot dog. I powered this with 5 volts and initially used a 5 volt microcontroller. I used a 1 kΩ resistor on the RX of the MP3 player as the microcontroller would cause buzzing otherwise as the MP3 player wants to drag the voltage down to 3.3 V. Note that this is a serial device so the RX pin goes to the TX pin of the microcontroller and the TX pin to the RX pin of the microcontroller. I used the Serial2 port of a 3.3 V Arduino Due so the resistor probably wasn't needed anymore but it worked with it so I kept it.

You might get a faulty one
A little disappointed was planning on using this for my final year project and after hours of testing didn’t seem to work. Spent ages troubleshooting and getting help from my tech team to find out it’s just faulty. Great price but if it doesn’t work I wouldn’t recommend buying at all
