Great water filter 😊
I’ve used water filters for years and I’ve finally found one which I am 100% happy with 😊 the design is both lovely and practical, this one beats all the plastic ones hands down 😊 I was only looking for refillable filters to cut down on single use plastics but as the jug is glass I thought I’d give it a go as the plastic ones become water stained and marked with limescale if you live in hard water areas and I’m really glad I did 😊 I’m using the alkaline refills and although the instructions say they won’t stop the limescale as much I’ve not had any extra build up so far, I’ve been using it for a week and with my experience with other filters I would have noticed extra build up by now. The alkaline filters give you the advantage of keeping the good minerals with all the nasties removed, and the water tastes so much better than filters I’ve used in the past. It comes in well designed packaging as well 😊 what more could you want 😊I highly recommend this jug and the filters 😊

May the Phox be with you
So I’ve woken up this year to a strange feeling - a billion souls crying out to improve our carbon impact and save the planet. Better do my bit then. Admittedly other than segregating waste and a smart meter, my household hasn’t been as “green” as we could be. Saw some reviews of this water filter and looked at my old Brita - yes it’s easy but that is a LOT of plastic going into landfill… So firstly I ordered the Alkali and Clean packs and the jug, a simple process which said it would arrive in 3 days - I could therefore have time to dispose of my old filter. THE NEXT day it arrived. In a big cardboard box, delivered in a silent e-van by one of the Empire (Amazon)’s elite delivery troopers… I asked whether there were any jobs going but apparently I’m a little short… Anyway, I placed the box on the counter and started to open it ( it opened with a slight [hiss] although that might be the cardboard friction). Slightly disappointed that there were no dry-ice effects for dramatic effect, but it’s all in there - filter pack and jug. First off, it’s big, with real presence, but that’s partly because it has a large jug for multiple reservoirs - 2.2l will keep me going for a whole day. It stood next to my Brita like it was disappointed to be in the room as such an inferior unit. The design is great - this thing was clearly designed to keep Darth Vader hydrated. I thought I might need Force powers to lift it, but it’s surprisingly light - clearly made from recycled TIE-fighter parts. It also looks really good as well - sleek but well designed. The dark side really did have the best toys… The instructions in the lid are clear and easy - deconstruct, clean, reconstruct - and the preparation of the filter is simple. Just remember that the filter is slower so fill it up early to drink during the day. The filter speed actually gave me a bit more confidence that the water is being ‘properly’ filtered. Don’t be Admiral Ozzell and be tempted to try pouring too early, the long pour will mean you end up emptying the reservoir into the glass - I tried that and felt a tightening around my neck - I immediately put the whole thing down and waited (apologies my lord). First taste (alkali pack) was excellent, very much like good quality spring water. Also tastes great to make coffee. Overall I’d say the Phox V2 is an excellent purchase. I asked a young aspiring Jedi in my house and he said it tasted great - but “Daddy it’s black so was it made by baddies?”… “no” I said, “they’re just Scottish”. Speaking of which, the low manufacturing mileage is also a big tick, and the whole experience felt very environmentally friendly. Using Phox is clearly how they kept the Death Star’s carbon footprint low. My only other concern is whether someone from Phox is going to turn up at my door and claim to be my father… May the Phox be with you.

Love this, but it's far from perfect.
Buying this was quite a big deal for me, with very limited funds and with a basic filter jug for under a tenner. But... I really wanted to change my old system, there are filters and there are filters, they are definitely not all equal in taste and ability. So I am so glad I did... The water tastes really lovely, and this jug is made in Scotland, all of it...that was enough to make me want to buy it!. I love the chunky design, there's nothing cheap and flimsy about it. The glass part is a bit like a wide Kilner jar, substantial. I wanted glass as I never felt I was getting the old plastic jug really clean. Also, imho plastic does taint the water. I used to fill glass fridge door jugs to overcome this. But also I hated contributing to plastic waste and felt guilty every month disposing of a plastic filter. This one doesn't take very long to filter through, but anyway, before it runs out I pour some in a glass jug so that I'm not left waiting with kettle in hand. However, there are a couple of annoying things about it, which, considering this is a young innovative company, I think they could have designed better...... I spent simply ages trying to fit the filter so that unfiltered water didn't trickle down round the edge, ( it still does, but only a drop or two) this was so annoying considering I've had the basic Wilko filters for many, many years and not one has ever leaked. And I have to go through this process twice a week now whenever I clean the jug, so I'm not looking forward to that.. Also the top of the filter doesn't screw in, and particles of the filter contents, now they've been full of water are seeping out of the top into the reservoir. ( And yes, I did make sure the top was properly in) So, I think the filter itself could be better, and should be better!. Also I query how the capacity of 2.2 litres is in the description. I filled the reservoir twice and the water in the glass jug measured 1.1 litre. One of the reasons I chose this jug was because of the larger capacity. I had noticed in other makes of jug the total capacity. i.e container plus reservoir was shown, and I presume this is the case with the Phox, but, as you cannot pour out water whilst there is still some in the upper reservoir, this description is very misleading. Everything else I absolutely love, the eco aspect, the looks, the glass, the pure and delicious taste of the water....which really is a huge aspect of this jug. The cost of new filters is just OK, providing they don't increase in price, of course. Despite the niggles I'm happy that I bought it.....ha! See my edit below! For anyone in doubt about whether to buy this jug, there was an interesting article in the Daily Telegraph about the best water filter jugs, which anyone can Google and read, which talked about the quality and taste of filtered water, it was quite technical, rather than just taking about value for money. Hope that helps! Edit... 3 times now the glass jar has fallen from the top, flooding my kitchen work surface, the last straw was soaking my toaster this morning, (I'd already filled and used it several times and it hadn't come apart) I don't have trouble screwing anything else, my hands are quite strong, so it's going back, I've been lucky so far in that the glass hasn't smashed, but it can only be a matter of time, so, along with the problems I mentioned above, I reluctantly decided to return it. I notice another reviewer had the same problem. What a shame!

Great Water Filter and Jug
High quality water filter jug. Combined with the Alkaline filtration, the water is much tastier. My go to water filtration system now.

So good I bought it twice
This is my second jug the first one lasted 5 years. I only changed it because the blue piece on the lid where the water enters came off probably due to being near the kitchen window and sunlight. It is easy to assemble there is no issue with the handle on either of these jugs. You place the seal on top of the jar line the filter reservoir on top turn clockwise to lock it in. At this point you should have already submerged the filter into the glass jar for 10 minutes prior to reassembling the jug. My grandpa is 99, and he has the plastic version and manages fine with my help. He’s never had a problem with it disconnecting spilling water and he’s been using his jug for well over a year. Phox are the best around for quality and price.

Very happy to recommended this Water Jug.
Thought I would share my thoughts on the Phox V2 water filter with the Alkaline filter. Our water is provided by United Utilities in the Northwest. Whilst being soft it has a strong smell of Chlorine and not a pleasant taste. We have also noticed the number of plastic drinking water bottles we are recycling on a monthly bases and decided to look at water filter jugs. After comparing the market, we decided to try the Phox V2. The primary reason being that its manufactured hear in the UK, Glasgow to be precise. The main water storage is Glass and it uses replaceable granules for the filtration. I previously mentioned that for our drinking water was supermarket purchased, generally Buxton water which was superior in every way to our tap water. Following the instructions to the letter of the Phox, our initial reaction was complete lack of any smell. However, a direct comparison taste test to our regular Buxton was slightly disappointing. The Buxton water just seemed slightly more refreshing. We have continued to use the Phox for approximately 20 days and we noticed a big improvement after 3-4 days in the taste. The Phox water has a clean taste and is very refreshing, especial if stored in the fridge. Very happy to recommended this Water Jug.

Just delivered, Refills amazing, Jug is already in the recycling ♻️
Had high hopes and left feeling divided. Refills tastes better than bottled water I was amazed at the water quality no idea water could be that smooth!! However the jug is awful 😖 I wished I didn't bother, it's to bulky (wide) to fit in fridge door, too tall to fit on the shelves and to get it in there means loosing two shelves, pointless. Then a leaky filter like other reviewers described and videoed, we went through instructions again and even went the website to make sure the set up was right and it was we just happened to be supplied a leeky one. I can't sent back because in excitement it was going to be perfect on set up we ripped up packaging and also we didn't want to return the filter granuals because the water is amazing. So it's cost me another £21.40 on their website for a brita filter fitted filter so we can pour the refills in that and use the brita jug that does work with our fridge so unless you have a enormous American fridge, I would go down this road instead buy the brita filter replacement on their website and get the refills as are worth it, shame its cost me to learn this.

Esta bien el sabor del agua
Por ahora va bien, le he dado de esta agua a mi familia y no han notado la diferencia con la de botella... Antes de consumir hay que filtrar por lo menos 3 veces porque sale un poco oscura el agua al principio.

Delicious alkaline water!
Highly recommend and very easy to setup, use. For us, this is the perfect water-filter pitcher. We love the glass base - no plastic taste in the water. Yay!!!! We’ve only had it a few days, but so far so great!!! I’m already thinking of buying more to give as gifts. 💧💙🥰
