Having been gardening for over 60 plus years indoors and out in TX my advice to you is that if you’re going to invest money, time and energy into gardening soil only use Miracle Gro for superior results. They have soil for every plant variety imaginable. This one is an excellent all purpose soil for most pot plants. That being said: It really does . . . Help with moisture control but don’t overwater. More plants are killed by overwatering because roots can’t get oxygen. Using a simple moisture meter inserted into the pot helps get correct watering and light needs. Feed plants for up to six months before needing to start supplemental fertilizing. Promote growth in indoor containers of houseplants and herbs. Each bag will fill two 8” containers. Work very well with plants under grow lights. Two bags of potting soil were received in excellent condition with no moisture or noticeable mold and was fresh with no bad odors. It appeared to be insect free. Crumbled easily in my hands and was very easy to worth with. Bags were packaged well with no spillage. This was a very good purchase.

I really love the Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix. It helps take the guesswork out of watering by protecting my plants from getting too much or too little water. Every spring, I repot all my plants, and this is the only mix I use.Since I started using it, my plants have stayed healthy, green, and full all year long. The soil holds moisture well without getting soggy, which makes plant care a lot easier, especially if you have a busy schedule. I’ve noticed stronger growth and fewer problems with my plants drying out. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants great results!

This is a much nicer soil mixture vs MG standard potting soil. Still finding some smaller chunky sticks & bits but not as much. I sift the bits out for the sandy mixture I make for carrots and seed starting and put the chunky bits at the bottom of pots for drainage before filling the rest with soil.

This is the second time that I've ordered Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting mix. I find that it's priced well and works VERY well on indoor plants. I don't have a green thumb at all but this particular mixture works well for me. I'd purchased (from a local garden center) two plantings for low light areas. All I can say is that this mixture works well and prevents any of my missteps.
