I started Trim Healthy Mama, "way back when" - and have been following the principles laid out in the original book for 27 months. As a middle-aged (yes, I admit it) mama of four, with 3 decades spent overweight and then obese, having tried every "fad diet" out there; suffering hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, and unable to even walk up a flight of stairs without wheezing... I was desperate, hopeless and utterly defeated. Skeptical, at very best, I purchased the original book and 'devoured" all 640 pages! WHEW! I didn't find it confusing, just followed the steps and... at 43 years old, I feel better than I did in my early 20's. I easily lost 53 pounds, and have been able to maintain my newfound health with ease - while eating absolutely delicious meals and NEVER feeling deprived! I can hike, cross-country with a 40+ pound pack, and not only live to tell about it... I FEEL GOOD! I could go on and on, but you want to hear about THIS book! Over the last couple years, I have spent countless (and I do mean COUNTLESS) hours on the THM facebook forums. Membership has literally exploded to well over 100,000 people, just in one group alone! Of these members, most enjoyed the original book... but many found the 600+ pages overwhelming - even though the book included 200 pages of recipes! Some members even had their books divided - to keep the recipe section separate from the "plan" part of the book. The authors heard and responded to the plea for a more concise version, with an easier layout... as well as for a completely separate recipe book! While I feel a "loyalty" to my original, exceptionally PRIZED copy of Trim Healthy Mama, I did order both new books. I AM SOOOO GLAD I DID! Just. WOW! They have completely outdone themselves here. Truly. The "Trim Healthy Mama Plan - the easy-does-it approach to vibrant health & a slim waistline" is absolutely amazing. This isn't just a "revision", this spells out the plan, while complimenting the previous book! The information contained here is definitely more concise, the layout is (in my opinion) much better; I can see this will be an easier read for many folks, and while it is more concise, it also contains updated information - making it my newest prize! I will say that I thought I would be replacing my original with this one and the new recipe book... but I could never give up the book that brought me "here". I have me a "collection"... Oh yeah! Review: Highly recommend this book! - These awesome ladies with this book, has changed my life! I opted to read the book and order things I was going to need, as I read. Because of this lifestyle change, I may actually be able to go back to work some day, or at least be able to get out in the community. It's NOT a book you can read in a couple days and start a "diet" come Monday. It is a change of life that improves your life. Their are numerous recipes that people use for family meals that even children will love. It's a basic understanding of chemistry. Why you shouldn't eat this with that, how your body works with the Food you provide it. There's really no creative end, once you learn the basics. You can expand your diet and never get bored. You don't ever have to say "that's not on my diet", you have your best results by eating every 3 hours, never using refined sugar or honey, and not mixing heavy fat with carbs. You can have both, just not in the same meal. And several other items that are not in your current diet. I highly recommend this book to everyone. There's a type of plan for everyone, no 2 are the same. There are numerous recipes for all kinds of sweets using pure stevia. This is a lifestyle, not a diet.....and it has saved my life. Highly recommend this book!

Ich habe durch Freunde aus den USA von THM erfahren und wie sie damit schon etliche Kilos verloren haben! Wer der englischen Sprache mรคchtig ist, wird kaum Probleme beim Lesen haben. Das Buch ist im groรen und ganzen super geschrieben und liest sich toll! Der Gedanke bei THM kommt der in Deutschland bekannten "Trennkost" sehr nahe und wie schon erwรคhnt, scheint diese Art der "Diรคt" wirklich zu funktionieren. Es werden neben den basics auch einige Fallbeispiele genannt und erlรคutert was hรคtte besser gemacht werden kรถnnen! Was mir persรถnlich etwas zu viel wurde, war das ganze Gerede drum herum das immer "pearl chats:" angekรผndigt wurde... Auรerdem kommen auf Grund der Fallbeispiele am Anfang und dann der basics im Anschluss sehr viele Wiederholungen vor!

Works for guys too... great results on this plan. The word healthy says it all. If a person is willing to make a lifestyle change it is pretty easy using this as a guide. And they aren't kidding - leaner - stronger and full of energy all day long doing this. Who knew? And I work hard outdoors- no gym rat. Hate diets. They never worked - this did.

I first discovered the Trim Healthy Mama plan (THM) two years ago when their original book was out. The original book was over 600 pages long and extremely comprehensive and had a recipe section in the middle. It took me hours to read but I loved that book, however many people had asked for a smaller version, more succinct, and for a separate recipe book and the smaller plan book is what is delivered here. The original book was chatty and conversational in style whereas this one is more the bare bones and the basics of the plan. If you don't have a lot of time but still want to do THM then this is the book for you! I do love both books equally, they both have something to offer. THM is a very healthy way of eating. I have been strictly on plan now for 9 months now and I am down 51 lbs. That is a very healthy loss of just over 1 lbs a week. This is a safe, healing way to nourish your body and leads to healthy weight loss when your body is ready to let it go. My only regret is that I bought this book on kindle and now I really want a hard copy of it to go with my original book on my kitchen shelves!

Loved this book, it takes awhile to read and absorb, but you will want the cookbook right away too! I am losing weight and feeling better than ever, my weight loss is slow, but inches are falling away! Thank you Pearl and Serena for your dedication and for writing this!
