I came across one of these that I had saved from a prior purchase at which time I was disappointed because they did not have a specific shining side. It turned out that this product is longer lasting than several much pricier versions I have since unsuccessfully tried. There is plenty of grit which is the most important feature for me. I will DEFINITELY give them another try.

I love sanding blocks for my fingernails, they work so much better than nail files. These are way too course for my fingernails (natural), will only use for toenails.
