Breakfast Biscuits And Cookies Review: A Forgotten Taste Relives! - I've been thinking about Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits for a while and no way to play out that desire. But Crawford's fulfilled my fantasy. They are really good but not exactly the same as Sunshine's all though the packaging says they have been making their version for 200 years so now I can find them when I have the urge. They are slightly drier and a bit less raisin than I like but because it is a British product I assume the biscuit is more for 'tea time' than hard core cookie noshing. The price is pretty steep for what you get...100g package is 2 wafers, about 7" long by 2", each. But on my order, I got free shipping from the UK, so I assume the 'steep' price is really a hidden shipping charge. It's not real excessive if you are ordering 1 or 2 packages, however, if you're going to order a bulk amount, it could be troublesome. So now that I feel young again...maybe Crawford's can put a Hydrox cookie together and really build on my gastric fantasies. Let's all hope. UPDATE: Found a New Zealand brand that is identical to the original Sunshine Raisin Biscuit. Griffins Fruitli Golden Fruit (wafer). It's moister than Crawford's and there is about 3x the raisin filling. Each package contains 4 7"x2" wafers. They are all over NZ, very common in every market and cheap to boot. But if you don't know anyone going there, you can order them online thru shopnewzealand.nz.co. The shipping is about $17 to the west coast of the US Review: Dreadful - Dry, flaky, tasteless and a tiny tiny package. So disappointing. Garibaldis used to substantial and delicious. I threw them away.

Great cookie, smaller packaging.
I love these. They remind me of my Grandmother. She always gave me them after school. I think the package is alot smaller than when I started buying them.

Old fashioned cookie
These are similar to the ones that was sold by A & P stores . I remember them being a softer cookie,They taste like the ones we used to get.

Only Amazon would ship cookies in a mailing bag!
Only Amazon would ship cookies in a mailing bag! Cookie wrapper is cellophane with no internal tray or support. So I got cookie powder. Also, I expected raisin. That's my fault, since package does say currant in smaller print. Cookie is too dry and flaky, but not like the cookies from my childhood for which I was searching. But why am I surprised -- name me one food that is better today than it was 40 years ago. Wait. After this review posted I went back to look at the product listing. The picture of the wrapper does not say "currant" (or "raisin" for that matter) and the listing does not say in print what kind of fruit it contains. So I searched "Garibaldi biscuit" to find that this refers to an English pastry made with currants. So again, part my fault. BUT STILL, it's too dry. And Amazon shipped a dry cookie in a shipping envelope.

I missed these..
These arrived on time, were fresh and tasted just like I remembered. These are not found in stores ( at least not where I live ) as they are " vintage " cookies from years ago. The VERMONT COUNTRY STORE carries this item but expensive for a 12 pack. They just right in texture and size, not too sweet, just the right amount. I hadn't tasted on for a long time as they were no longer available in stores. They taste really good, something between a cracker and a soft cookie. The expiration date is clearly marked and CURRENT and has GREAT INGREDIENTS WITH NO JUNK. I ORDERED 2 pks and ATE THEM ALL 😆

Love Garibaldi biscuits. Good value for money Taste hasn’t changed. I’ve been unable to buy them locally so was pleased they were available on Amazon. As kids we used to call them “dead fly biscuits”.
