does it actually hold 50lbs of dog food?

No. It says it hold 50 pounds of dog food but it clearly will not hold 50 pounds of Purina Dog Chow. Filled it up and had several pounds left in the bag. I'm thinking, at least for Dog Chow, that it can only hold about 40 pounds. I would order the next size up if you need it to hold 50 pounds.

Does it come with a scoop.

Yes, mine included a scoop but it's not shaped like a scoop. It's circular, 4" diameter x 1.5" deep with a tab handle that's 1.5 long x .75" wide. It's the same color as the vault and somewhat flexable. I really like this product because it's solid and air tight so it keeps the contents fresh. I get the smell of fresh dog kibble every time I open it.

Bought the 5 gal bucket and the lid ring has split apart. Will Gamma2 send me a new ring and lid to replace the defected part?

Sure would ask, but my whole lid once on is nah impossible to get opened back up. I just sit the lid on the canister.
