Can these be used for metal engraving?

If it is a softer metal such as aluminum or tin, I would say it’s very possible. A harder metal such as iron or steel, no.

What are the min and max radii on the gauge used for?

I believe that it has to do with sharpening them

Are these definitely made with chrome-vanadium? cr-v is pretty much always shiny, this looks more like carbon steel. is it stamped on there?

I returned mine, they are soft.
