Lee Oskar Harmonica, Major Key of D Flat

I bought this harmonica for my son as a gift. I had heard about Lee Oskar Harmonicas from a friend who plays harmonica in a band. Since my son plays, too, I got him a Lee Oskar in the key of G a couple of years ago to try out. Now he prefers Lee Oskar for most keys, though he still uses another brand for particular keys. Not sure why. He has a very discerning ear.

Got the Db and it’s one of the best sounding harps I’ve ever heard.

I am a real fan of the Lee Oskar harmonicas. I’ve been playing harmonica for almost 60 years and I must say these are the most air tight of any I’ve ever played. The tighter they are the less air it takes to play them. These have full, clear mellow sound with remarkably little effort. I’m very fond of the d flat key.

I have always liked the sound and lasting qualities of Lee Oskar harmonicas. But since Tomco has been making them, the quality of the instrument does not seem as good. lighter, cheaper made. When I started to play, harmonicas were $3.50, now $37.00 and the quality does not equal the price. I was told a while ago that the cost of harmonicas had to do with the fact they are made in Germany. Lee Oscar is not made in Germany.

I buy a lot of harmonicas as they eventually go sharp or clog up on me and I have to replace them. I play harp in a band and between gig's and practices I use the heck out of them. Mostly I've been playing Hoehner Special 20's and Lee Oskars as my favorites. I bought one of each in the same key for an experiment and compared them out of the box. I believe the Lee Oskar was a little bit better in the sense that it was easier to blow and draw on the reeds. It was not a huge difference but noticeable and I will exclusively buy Lee Oskars from now on.

Out of tune out of the box. I bought this exact model in the past with no issues.

I have several Lee Oskar harmonicas in various keys. I'm a pedestrian player at best, and they make me sound good.

It is an excellent harmonica. Excellent tone and easy to play for its bigger hole. Being a melody player, I am fully satisfied till now. Let me see its durability as it is almost new and my first lo harp.
