I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. The product listing is misleadingly vague about its compatibility with modern operating systems. To be clear for other buyers: this device does not work as a standard FIDO security key on Windows or other modern platforms. This authenticator uses the older FIDO U2F protocol, which has been largely superseded. Most modern services and operating systems now require FIDO2/WebAuthn standards to function correctly. Because this is outdated hardware, it is essentially useless for anyone looking for a plug-and-play security key for their Windows account or general web logins. The lack of documentation regarding this technical limitation is unacceptable. If you need a modern, reliable security key, look elsewhere for a FIDO2-compliant device. This one belongs in the past.

Use this for work. It's good while it works, but I had 2 of these fail in about 1.5 years. They start failing authentication and after 3 failed attempts I get locked out of the application for 15 minutes. Pro: small, portable, integrates nicely with hardware - USB-A port. cons: see high failure rate above, also USB-A tends to become legacy on more and more laptops/tablets nowadays, shame they don't consider making these USB-C instead. I know they make USB C-A adapters but that quickly becomes cumbersome for a portable solution and introduces additional potential failure points.

I had no problem setting up 2FA with all my favorite platforms, however -- after several weeks, half of them do not recognize the exact same key that was used to authenticate originally. This is not a newbie mistake. By comparison, my other keys work perfectly. The point of having this device is to protect your accounts, but if it doesn't work half of the time.... well... Returning.
