Very important homemade bagel ingredient
Serious bakers need this ingredient for making great water bagels. This is used in both the dough (in certain recipes) and the water bath instead of using sugar or honey. The subtle flavor profile makes them taste like store bought bagels. King Arthur website always has this product sold out but so happy it's available quicker on Amazon. Once opened, store in glass jar in freezer.

this is the real deal
I was hoping to find malt that would be suitable for making malted milkshakes. After getting a quick online education about diastatic vs. non-diastatic malt courtesy of Amazon customer reviews, I decided to try this product based on the + reviews as well as the King Arthur brand which I trust on account of their good flour, and in spite of the breathtaking (not in a good way) price. Turns out I chose well because the flavor of this malt is exactly what I was hoping for: it reminds me of malts I had in my childhood, and my own kids, initially dubious, were intrigued and impressed by the end result in spite of themselves. I'm not sure whether I'd buy this malt again, at the price, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts (and considering that I add a profligate two heaping tablespoons to each batch, it won't last very long).

Make the BEST water bagels.
I had been a craving a real bagel after a trip to DC where I found an awesome bagel shop. Store bakery and Einstein just wasnโt cutting it. I ordered this and follow the recipe on the bag! Iโve been making the most delicious, crisp, yet chewy, salt bagels ever since! Iโm no pro baker either! If you want a real water bagel you have to use this stuff!!
