L298N Motor Drive Controller Board Stepper Motor Control Module Dual H-Bridge with DC Motor and Smart Car Wheel Compatible with Arduino

I needed some motor, controllers, and wheels for a quick robotics project. These worked great. You can open them up and cut off half the shaft to make it easier to mount. Solder some wires in there, the existing metal contacts are flimsy.

The order was supposed to be 4 wheels, 4 motors and 2 L298N H-bridges. What I received was 4ea. wheels, 2ea. L298N H-bridges and 5 (five) motors. What a great way to pay respects to your customers, while these motors are inexpensive and because of that, there may be a bad one in a batch. Rather then tie up a customers time requesting a replacement, plus the time company employees spend fixing the problem, they threw in an extra. What a great way to do business. BTW all worked well. I will be doing business with this company in the future. A phrase comes to mind: “Customer service “ Well done.

Worked for what it is. Only complaint is lack of mounting screws to affix gear boxes to project. (You can buy them at any Lowe's/HD) L298N drivers are great no issues. Free breadboarding wires are a nice but an unnecessary extra when compared to mounting hardware.

I havent used the product yet, but I noticed something as soon as I got the product. I should have realized this by looking at the photos and electrical connections. These are NOT stepper motors. They are DC motors with a gear box. Each motor only has two connection terminals. This means they will not function for precise positioning. You'll be able to tell it to go forward or backwards for a set period of time, but you cannot program it to move an exact distance/angle. Aside from that, The controller boards and motors visually seem to be of good quality I'll update when I get around to using them.

Good value for money. Everything worked great and the motor control module can control speed on the motors and via jumpers be switched to control stepper motors. Motors seem and bit low budget but excellent for playing around and newbies.

The two L298N controllers works well. Similar to all others so you can easily find the schematics for them. Same for the wires and DC motor. It comes with an extra motor but it was needed since one of them was not as responsive as it should (a.k.a. a lot of grinding and internal friction from the bad mechanical tolerances that is altering the rotational speed you get from a specific PWM command compared to the 3 others.) The motor's pins has no wire soldered to them so you have to do it yourself.

Bought this kit to use while building an RC car with my son. Done the job nicely. No issues, and he aced his project at school.

Great kit for building a robot chassis. Everything works as expected.
