Comfortable and effective in reducing volume.
These ear plugs seem to work well at muffling the sound level at noisy concerts. Previously I had used only an old pair of ear plugs from the 1970's and so was out of touch with what is now available. These Alpine ear plugs are a soft, clear, silicone material, with two 'skirts' to give a snug fit in the ear canal. They come with three pairs of filters: white, silver and gold (for low, medium and high noise level situations) and so you pick a pair of filters and push them into the ear plugs. They are a bit fiddly, (like the coloured pegs from an old game of travel Mastermind) and would be easy to drop and lose, especially in a dark concert and so it is sensible to fit them into the ear plugs before a gig, not during. They can be inserted in the ear and removed easily. To reduce the risk of losing one, a cord is included with clips at each end, which can be worn on the neck, but this is a very fine thread that you would not notice when wearing. The pack contained three ear plugs (a pair plus one spare) and three pairs of filters. So far I have attended one concert wearing the silver filters and another in the gold. Both were effective. I did not feel that I was missing out on any details of the music. I was pleased not to have noisy ringing in my ears after the shows. The set also includes a small bottle of a cleaning fluid and a handy zip case. The ear plugs can be washed in warm soapy water, but being transparent, could be easily lost when emptying the wash basin! I removed the filters before washing the ear plugs, but do not know whether this is actually necessary. (It is with another type of earplugs). The plugs can be reused many times, but I think they may be vulnerable to tearing eventually, whilst fitting and removing the filters. It doesn't seem very practical to try changing filters while at a gig, for risk of dropping one, so you need to guess the likely noise level in advance. I may buy a second set, simply to then be able to have three pairs of ear plugs made up, with white, silver and gold filters already inserted.

Fantastic product
Absolutely fantastic as a person with autism I have to be very particular with my needs particularly when it comes to night time routine and in past have had experience of different earplugs including both reusable and foam and have to say these are mind blowing I decided to start with the middle of line filters and was amazed with how these worked as for me softened music whilst totally blocking out all other sounds and with my autism is perfect for me as to be able to get any sleep I need to be able to listen to my Spotify binaural sounds albums and I think this is due to the design as in comparison to other ear plugs that complete block ear canal fully these actually comfortably sit in the actual hole in the ear canal itself which I find provide ls for a perfect and comfortable fit and the incuded clips and cord which simply snap on to the metal filters aid in ease of removal with a firm but gentle design meaning ease of removal is easy there use I’d recommend for people with autism/sound sensitivity and anyone who wants a quieter environment kudos to whoever designed these I will absolutely buy more for spares going forward and it’s definitely the case with these that good things come in small packages inc the carry case the fixing string and clips plus the spare tip 3 different attenuated filter types plus a useful cleaning spray make for a good kit and given my experience think the price is very reasonable for such a good product

Good but think carefully about why, where and how you need to use for best effect.
Really effective in reducing amplitude when in the confines of the practice room and I found that it helped to isolate and identify performance errors during rehearsal quite effectively too. Using these earplugs I could still engage in/ and hear conversations fairly reliably. A drawback I experienced when playing wind instruments was that your perception of your own sound was changed considerably ( although on a plus side it made me focus on pitch and sound production much more than usual!). This was much less of an issue on percussion. My work-around has been to use the earplugs when the group is very loud but remove when playing quieter music or solos ( the ease of use of these plugs makes this very practical to do). Overall I have found these earplugs to be really useful for me in reducing painful noise ( it is easy to change the filters as you require) and very good value but do think carefully about what you want to get from them and your individual circumstances.

Great!
Are my ears getting more sensitive as I get older, or am I getting more grumpy?... I think I just appreciate how well my hearing still works and how I'd like it to stay that way. The adjustable level of noise reduction is most welcome. The white inserts just take things down a notch. You barely know they're in, but it's just a little more safe and comfortable. I used these for a lively performance at The Barbican. The silver inserts are to prevent hearing damage in a more rowdy environment like pubs and clubs. I can still hear the full range of music even up to Prodigy and Chemical Brothers live performance levels but they protect my ears from ringing afterwards. The gold inserts are for the loudest heavy metal gigs. I think they do take the edge off the audio clarity, but they do the job of protecting your hearing. The inclusion of a spare earpiece is most welcome. Should you lose one mid gig, you can still wear a (mismatched) pair to tide you over. Then I'd buy another set of these and have a spare insert.

Fantastic value & great attenuation for musicians
I've been playing drums at a high level for over 20 years, mainly rock genre, and historically, if we're not using In Ear Monitoring, for rehearsals I've always relied on my Elacin ER 20's. I lost them recently, so had to quickly get something else. I gave these a go and honestly can't fault them. Being behind the drums, I used the gold 22db filter and they worked a treat. Given the style of plugs these are, you're going to lose a bit of fidelity, but it's really not a lot - I could still hear all the other instruments clearly with no problems, whether that's the high or low frequencies (and crucially, all the vocals & intricate melodies). In fact, when the playing stopped, I had to take them out of my ears (the chord to keep them hanging round your neck really really helps!) as I couldn't fully hear what the other players were saying, on the other side of the room. Goes to show that they really do reduce the volume! As soon as I took them out, I could hear them at normal volume but I didn't feel like I'd just come out of an isolation chamber, which is what happens with cheap / poor quality plugs or those horrible foams ones. I'd recommend you experiment with how far you push these into your ear canal - I suspect those people complaining about muffling are probably pushing them in a little too far. I think for other instruments, if you're not standing right next to the drums, will be fine with the silver filter. If you're going to a gig as a punter, the white filter will be OK, but I tend to use Doc's Pro Plugs, which do a great job (unless it's a really heavy bass setting, eg DnB, in which case, you're going to want something that actually goes into your ears to fully protect them). The carry case is top quality, with inserts for the other filters. I like the cleaning fluid and the fact you get a spare plug. The chord to hand them off is essential if you're musician and you're going to be constantly taking these in and out of your ears. For around £20, it's top value. I honestly don't get why people are complaining about these - If you're a proper audiophile, and you want maintain true fidelity, then go spend some proper money and get some custom moulded ones!

Great earbuds
Great comfy earplugs that sound way better than cheap ones. Pretty big difference in sound drop between the inserts

Poor fit adjustment, small tip makes it easy to push in too far and difficult to remove.
Didn't work for me. Only one size ear plug and I think they were slightly too small. Very little reduction in sound level and very easy to push too far into your ear - had to use tweezers to get one out. Slim tip makes removal difficult. Found etymotics much better with different tip sizes that fitted better.

Earplugs
Very comfy to wear and you can adjust them to suit your needs. I wear them to sleep in to eliminate the sound of my husband snoring. This means we longer need to book two rooms for holidays and hotel stays. This is of great benefit to us and saves us a lot of money. They also function well when listening to noisy bands which is what I originally bought them for. My ears no longer hurt.

Finally, Earplugs That Protect Your Hearing Without Ruining the Experience
Alpine MusicSafe Pro completely changed how I think about hearing protection at concerts, movies, live events, and loud environments in general. These are not the cheap foam earplugs that muffle everything into a muddy mess. They actually let you enjoy the sound while protecting your hearing at the same time. The biggest strength is the audio clarity. Music still sounds balanced and detailed instead of dull or distant. You can hear vocals, instruments, and conversation far more naturally than with standard earplugs, which makes a huge difference during live performances. Instead of feeling disconnected from the experience, it feels like the volume has simply been lowered to a more comfortable and safer level. Comfort is also excellent. Once inserted properly, they stay secure and are easy to wear for long periods without becoming irritating or creating excessive pressure in the ears. The included filter options are a great touch as well because they allow you to adjust the level of protection depending on the environment. What surprised me most was how much less exhausted my ears felt afterward. No ringing, no muffled hearing after loud events, and far less listening fatigue overall. After using these a few times, it becomes difficult to justify attending concerts or loud venues without some form of quality hearing protection. The included carrying case is compact and practical, making it easy to throw into a pocket, backpack, or everyday carry setup without thinking about it. Overall, the Alpine MusicSafe Pro earplugs strike an excellent balance between comfort, sound quality, and protection. If you care about music, live events, or preserving your hearing long term without sacrificing audio quality, these are absolutely worth picking up.
