Not the best over time
It started out great but then developed issues. First the hose connection and the blue base cracked within a few months. The service department which by the way is very nice sent new parts ( you need to know your original order date for them to find your pump so keep it). Months later the electrical wiring failed and kept blowing my GFI. They sent a new pump. That pump made it through a about a year but then the motor froze ? rust which I was able to free up but now it whines. Also occasionally the pump will cycle on and off and you may think it might me a thermocouple but it is air bound and you have to take off the hose adapter and clean a small air hole with a paper clip inside the housing to fix the issue.. Although I liked the design and the service department I don't think I'm going to deal with sending it back again and will try another manufacturer

Good Product with Some Flaws
I love this pump -- when it works. The first problem we experienced is the overly sensitive iSwitch. As best I can tell, the pump senses the smallest amount of back-pressure and it will not pump, or it cycles on and off. The fix for us was to use a shorter hose on the discharge and the pump started working reliably. If you use a long discharge hose, you may have problems. We have few problems with a 15 foot hose. After one season a tab holding the base on failed and the connector to the hose split in two. To their credit the company replaced both items with any hassle. I have changed my rating from a 3-star to a 4-star, because when the pump works, it does a great job.

Pumps to about 1" of water doesn't get clogged easily with leaves. Drains cover rapidly. I would recommend it.

Fantastic pool cover pump for the price, that includes GFCI protection
Fantastic pool cover pump for the price, with some nifty features included. Unfortunately, we have a house that is over 100 years old, so finding a pool cover pump, or pool accessory for that matter, that includes GFCI protection is a major plus. As far as the pump itself goes, it's great! The auto on/off feature is extremely handy, as I don't have to walk outside and unplug the pump when all of the water has been drained. I love the strainer base and how easy it is to remove, as well as the pool to shore rope. We've used it for two off-seasons so far, and we've had no issues. We'd def recommend it!
