Works fine.
Works fine. Much cheaper strips than my old one.

Great meter, great price
My husband is doing Keto and needed a new meter. The websites he found had some crazy expensive meters. After researching a few brands on Amazon, I landed on this. It has been a great meter according to him. It does what it's supposed to do and seems to be very accurate. It was priced much better than other brands, but the most important part: the refills. The refills are also affordable. Some meters are priced ok, but refills are outrageous, they seem to lock you in. This meter and refills are great and priced very reasonably.

Product faulty
The product only comes with 10 test strips. Additional strips are expensive to purchase. I used approximately 5-6 strips only to receive an E-4 error code, "test strip contaminated" and I know it's not from user error(I'm a health professional)! The lancet does not work either after only three finger sticks. I would research other products that would come with more strips and have a better value.

One of the least expensive initially but will be expensive on the long run.
It is easy to use once you have set it up, however, it does not bring enough test strips or lancets, so it will be rather expensive in the long run, because you need lancets and test strips in order to measure the that. I don't use it daily, and since I have to test my blood sugar, I use the lancets from my glucometer, and test both things at once, but I know the strips will run out soon and thinking about that, you know it is going to cost way more than the original price. The carrying case is sturdy, but all the items do not fit easily, and so it bulges out once you have found a way to put them in there. I think it measures the ketone correctly, but then again, I wouldn't know what the ketones would be, without measuring them.

It is a convenient way to check ketones.
I bought this for one of my type 1 diabetic daughters, she's an adult. We used the ketone urine strip and the meter. It's pretty consistent between the two. The meter showed a lower number. I found out that there is a difference between having it checked by blood or by urine but it's a very small. I would have the meter cos it's just easier to test and convenient.

Does exactly what they say. Tells me how far into ketosis I am.

The Moment I Knew I Was a Keto Warrior
KetoTrak Blood Ketone Testing Kit – So I decided to go full keto—because carbs betrayed me, and I wanted abs instead of bread. Naturally, I needed a way to track my progress, which is how I ended up with the KetoTrak Blood Ketone Testing Kit. Little did I know, this tiny device would send me on an emotional rollercoaster of self-discovery, mild panic, and finger-stabbing adventures. Step 1: Psyching Myself Up to Draw Blood The kit arrives, and I’m feeling like a scientist. I unpack everything, read the instructions (kind of), and prepare to test my ketones. There’s just one problem—I have to prick my own finger. I stare at the tiny lancet. It stares back. I count down. I hesitate. I count down again. My wife walks in, sees me sweating over a needle the size of a mosquito, and walks out shaking her head. Finally, I gather the courage, jab my finger, and… IT’S NOT THAT BAD. I instantly feel like a warrior. Step 2: The Numbers Don’t Lie I put the blood on the strip, insert it into the meter, and BOOM—my results appear. At first, I don’t know what they mean, so I Google it. Turns out, I’m officially in ketosis. I feel like an elite biohacker, even though five minutes ago I was terrified of a tiny needle. Step 3: The Obsession Begins Now, I can’t stop testing. I start: ✔ Testing first thing in the morning. ✔ Testing after every meal. ✔ Testing after looking at a slice of bread, just to make sure. At one point, I test my ketones so often that my fingers look like a pin cushion, and my wife tells me to stop “playing doctor” and eat my dinner. Final Verdict – A Must-Have for Keto Addicts This kit is super easy to use, surprisingly painless, and makes me feel like a mad scientist tracking my own metabolism. If you’re serious about keto, you need this. Just be prepared for the emotional journey of stabbing yourself daily and celebrating ketone levels like they’re lottery numbers. – Would stab my fingers again.

Good Value & Reliable Readings (When you follow the steps!)
Tester works as intended, and the ketone test strips are the best value for your money on Amazon- they aren't as cheap as glucose strips because ketone strips are just more expensive in general. This device is a good value, and the replacement strips are not individually packaged (which means less frustration when you need to use one as well as less garbage). I've compared this with a breath-ketone meter as well as urine test strips, and it seems pretty reliable to track ketosis. Make sure to massage your finger after you've used the lancer- this will draw out more blood. The device honestly only needs a very small amount to get a result, but just using the lancer will not draw out enough because it is not supposed to- if you follow the instructions, massaging your finger is part of the process to draw out a little more that is enough for testing. As someone who has never personally done my own daily blood testing, it is much less painful/bothersome than I expected. In conclusion: 1. Follow the lancer steps, including a finger massage, to get the tiny amount of blood you need. 2. Use the sides of your fingertips if you want to avoid pricking your finger in the area you use for typing/etc 3. Make sure to test at the same time each day, preferably an hour after waking or before dinner. 4. Check out /r/Keto on Reddit to get more info on monitoring your ketosis and to power through for the results you want to see. Having a community is important with health/lifestyle changes.
