I don’t think these are meant for latches. They are meant for the pin lock. I have shaved door handles and I think I understand what you are trying to do with them. And I don’t think they will work. Cause it doesn’t take much force to move the lock/unlock rod. And I’m answering this question because I was scrolling down looking for the pull force as well
