Has anyone had to deal with the company with the 10 year warranty? Will the company cooperate and actually refund if the unit stops working?

Yes, the Tribest company is great to work with! They have a professional customer service department. They always promptly answer their phones and return emails. They always take care of warranty issues with no hassles. They send out replacement parts covered under warranty, free of charge. I have never heard of the motor breaking down on this dehydrator. If that did happen, Tribest would fix the issue or replace the dehydrator.

Is the outer construction of the unit steel and not plastic?

How many fans are in back ? With only one fan, product has to be rotated for even drying.

There is only 1 fan in the "Express".In the "Classic" (9 trays), you've 2 fans up & down.But a reel "evenness" in drying foods... that's only a "dream". Even with 2 fans or other brands ! Some pieces may be thikker/thinner than the other one. That makes a huge difference in drying time. The "Classic" type unit can also be operated at "half load" (or less) : the food (slices, pieces,...) who's not dried enough may stay a bit longer in the upper stage of the unit. In this case you need to use the "separator tray" (supplied with the unit) which divides the unit into two separate stages, with only the up fan working to concentrate the hot air in the upper stage.In Tribest units, you cannot rotate the trays 90° ; Only 180°.
