14x28 Cast Iron Two - Sided Griddle

I would have loved to use this. It was nice quality cast iron and it had a beautiful enormous griddle surface. However, I underestimated the size of the griddle and the handles in particular. They are nice because you can get your whole hand in them. But my stove has a wall behind it with a couple inch granite backsplash. The handle was so big, that even if I pushed the griddle all the way back so it was touching the granite, the back burner would burn through the handle opening. We almost kept it anyway since it was such a beautiful piece, but it clearly would not work on our stove. When you measure the fit, remember to allow a good extra 5 inches for the handles. It would have been great if we could have used it on the back 3 burners instead of the left two, but our this griddle was not long enough to go all the way across 3 burners and it was too wide to do that and coveted the gas gauges.

Cast Iron , Large space, heavy duty and Superb quality. Ideal for the large grilling. Fits over the burners and heat distribute well. Reversible plate does the work for any type of cooking. Massive, heavy, impressive cookware. This is perfectly sized to go edge to edge on a standard kitchen cooktop. On my gas range, I use it to make pancakes, omelettes, grilled cheese, hash browns, and other treats for the family. It's not taking a season as well as my Lodge cast iron, but I expect it to get there eventually. Before you buy, understand that everything other than cooking; moving it around, cleaning it, storing it... all of those things are made more difficult due to size and weight.Just be sure you know what you're getting into. It weighs close to 50 pounds, so don't bother if you can't lift that onto the stove. Also don't bother if you don't have a good spot near the floor to store it. You don't want to keep this up high, it's a toe crusher for sure. I put it in a plastic bag and lean it up against the wall behind the door to the pantry.

Read the listing carefully - 28" is the width of the cooking surface alone. This thing is massive - over 33" from handle to handle. Fortunately my plan is to cut the ends off and use it as an economy fireback in my fireplace. Cast iron is cast iron, after all, and this thing cost less than half of the cheapest fireback.

This item has only been used twice and has a large crack in it! The crack was somewhat visible when I purchased but it almost looked like it was repaired during the process of creating g the griddle. Each use causes the crack to get larger. Eventually it will break. I’d like to return or exchange because I need a griddle but can’t use due to crack, any liquids and grease just seep through- fire hazard! I can only use one side and cannot cook bacon on it for sure, which is why I bought it.

This is a heavy griddle. When it arrived, to me, it looked used or like it was possibly someone's returned griddle. It did not sit flat on the counter, it looked a little bit warped. It was for a church pancake breakfast and there was no time to get a different one. The griddle worked fine for making a lot of pancakes, but at the end of the morning it looked more warped than it did when it arrived. It was used on a large commercial type gas stove. I am not sure if I received a defective griddle or if warping is part of using a griddle made of cast iron.

Assuming this will be with me decades from now. It's heavier than you could imagine, bigger than you'll think and does pretty much everything you could think of. It covers my entire 5-burner gas stove and takes about a week to cool down. I would NOT recommend making any sugar-glazed salmon on the grill marks side. Took about 90 minutes to clean. ;)

Awesome, killer griddle! Fits over the burners on my cooktop and is great for cooking big breakfasts or multiple burgers, etc... I can finally make omelets without tearing them up when flipping! Looks like it would be great for a campfire griddle, too.

Perfect, I am 100% satisfied, this grill is AMAZING. Now I can cook my entire breakfast all at once instead of in stages with a fry-pan. It works the same as a commercial kitchen short order cook grill works. I have an airtight wood burning cook stove that this fits on top of it perfectly, and so I have a hot grill on 24/7 in the winter, you have no idea how nice that is, then in the summer I'll be using it on my King Kooker! I bought this as a gift for my wife and didn't use for at least 60 days after receiving it and when we used it on the gas stove and following all the manufacturers recommendations the griddle cracked from the heat and we required a replacement. We were told the warranty was void. But Amazon after realizing we had not realized the thirty day issue, furnished us with a new Griddle and I was told when I buy something that is not going to be used right away to buy it as a GIFT and the warranty issue is void. We are very happy with the outcome.

Seems to be good iron. I cut one handle off so it has a better chance of fitting on two of the three burners of a king cooker. Now if that would stay lit I might be able to use it.
