GREAT value, quiet, functional and attractive.
LOVE my replacement induction stove! This is my 3rdโthe 2 others cracked because, as I wanted with my last installer, they should have had a wood or steel reinforcement running down the middle beneath them for support (never comes with these stovesโhe had to make one custom). The weight of large pots and pans will take their toll over time. I ordered another 30โ induction stove (GASLAND) that ended up being too short for the cutout - 19โ instead of 21.5โ - so watch out for depth measurements! This one was true to the size advertised: 30โ x 21.5โ and fits perfectly. I LOVE the โsync burnersโ on the 2 left burners for pancakes and French toast on my induction-friendly griddle on Sunday mornings. It heats up and cools down quickly, and is very easy to clean. Best price after shipping for WEEKS for a 30โ indiction stove to replace my 2nd cracked one. The only thing I donโt like are the beeps every time I turn it on and adjust temps. My dog freaks out on digital sounds, so this is a huge downer. BUT I havenโt tried the wifi connect yet and am hopeful it will provide an option to turn off the sounds. Otherwise, cooking noises are MUCH quieter than my previous brands (Frigidaire).

GE's service is byzantine
the stovetop arrived defective in that one segment of the one's digit of the timer doesn't work. There was evidence that the unit had been previously installed; probably returned for this reason. After calling GE support and emailing them pictures of the problem, I still had to make an appointment for a repair person to come out the following week. This person met the schedule, looked at the display and said, "yup, I have to order a board. See you next week." I said, "Can you give me a big rebate and we call it good?" It seems that GE would rather spend hundreds of dollars (note other reviewers describing $900 repair costs) than make a deal beneficial to them, me, and the environment. I'll report more after the next service. (I got the additional warranty) Other than that, it's an awesome stovetop. You can set a temperature so fine that your pasta will boil, but not boil over. It's the best stovetop on which I've every cooked. Downside, I had get an induction "moka" (single espresso maker) but its base was too small for it to be recognized. I do have a stand-alone induction "burner" and I can make espresso using it. I guess you can't have it all.

Excellent value
The cooktop is light-weight, thin profile and all controls function easily with more than sufficient temperature settings. The duel burner option is key for large family meals. The elements heat up much more quickly than a 15 year old prior GE version this replaced. The cooktop is glass though and does hold a little heat after cooking and requires more frequent cleaning. Installation is easy - 3 wires, end caps and electrical tape. Very much recommend! I purchased an open-box model and no issues after a couple months of heavy use. Highly recommend - works perfectly, sufficient and easy to use controls, cooktop is totally smooth even over the control area.

Love this cooktop
I purchased this one to replace the same one that had the glass top broken. Obviously you need to be careful with dropping heavy objects on the glass surface, but accidents happen. It works great! We actually have 2 cooktops in our kitchen. The other one is a gas glass cooktop. We mainly use the induction, especially in the summer to avoid the heat generated by the gas flame. The induction heats up food in a pot as fast as a microwave, but does't dry it out like a microwave. Cooks faster than the gas cooktop. However you can only use magnetic pots so pot selection is more limited.

They DO NOT WARRANTY THIS
Eight months in and the cooktop started misbehaving. Burners were turning off by themselves, pans that used to work didn't work any more, or would work on one burner but not a different one. Service call scheduled for 7/22/2020 - Tech said the ticket was marked "collect" and not a warranty call (A & E Factory Service Company... Instructed to call GE again and set it up correctly. He pulled the top up, set it back down, and left without any work. It was no longer level, so we couldn't use it. Called 7/22/2020 to reschedule. Service call scheduled for 8/3/2020 - Tech called before appointment time and said the ticket was wrong again. Called A & E and the operator insisted that "collect" meant GE and he would call the tech and have him come right back. Did not happen. Called 8/3/2020 to reschedule. Service call scheduled 8/13/2020, new tech sent. (Yeah!), guess what? The tech said that the ticket said "collect", he would have to charge me to work. So, THREE SERVICE CALLS SCHEDULED and no work actually done still. Am on hold with GE (again) to see if this can really happen. Two and a half hours on hold and then got disconnected... 800-386-1215 8/26/2020 Just an update, still have not had a service call. A&E Factory Service teased me yesterday with a service call between 10 and 2, then 2 and 4, and then nothing. Today they have rescheduled my service call to September 10th!! Tough for a family of 8 to live off of a portable burner for over 30 days, what's two more weeks?

The good inductive cooktop, too expensive, with only a few minor feature hassles
Our last home had a GE Profile series inductive cooktop and it was outstanding. This one is outstanding as well so far giving my one month of use. However the price is rather extreme AND when you turn it on you either have full power or lowest power. It needs to go to a middle position like 50% power to be less bothersome then the 1% or the 100% because it requires you to tap many many times to get to the middle position. Hopefully they can do a software update and solve this.

Induction Cooktop
Cooktop was a replacement for a Sears branded radiant cooktop. Cutout dimensions were exact so it dropped in with no modifications. Unit removed was a 4wire where this one was a 3wire hookup but using instructions, no issues on installation. After a couple of months, unit has been great. Had to buy a few more induction capable pots and pans. It is amazing how fast unit will heat up cookware and just as fast to turn off the heat. You can clean up spatters surround the cookware while cooking since cooktop doesn't heat up and just as easily clean off the 'burner' once the pan is removed. Since cooktop does not get extremely hot, spills do not get baked on so cleanup is so easy compared to old radiant heat cooktop.

Largest burner is defective out of the box - eventually returned for refund after no resolution from GE
Three of the burners work great. I can bring 2 cups of water to a boil in about 1 minutes 20 seconds on any of the smaller burners. With the exact same pot, which has a 9" diameter magnetic base and larger than the minimum 7" required for the big burner, it takes 6 minutes to get to a boil. During that time I hear a clicking sound every few seconds which sounds like the relay turning off the element and then turning it on again. I've tried 4 different induction compatible cookware pots on the larger burner and they all behave the same. In theory the larger element is the most powerful, but in this case is basically unusable. I'm willing to work with GE to make it work. They have until the end of January, otherwise I'm returning it for a full refund. I had so much hope, but in hindsight I should have trusted the negative reviews. I think I'll try a Samsung next. Too bad they are almost double the cost, but perhaps there is a good reason to pay more. UPDATE 2/9/2018: I contacted GE near the beginning of January, explained the problem to the service rep, and she said she would contact a local repair company to send someone out to take a look. Since I heard nothing from anyone since then, two weeks later I boxed it all up and returned it for a full refund. I'm very happy I bought it from Amazon because they do full refund on appliances, unlike other stores, and they also paid for the return shipment. I'm now in the market for a new Samsung NZ30M9880UB, which seems to be brand new and not yet listed with Amazon.
