theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Matte Liquid Lipstick

This is my absolute favorite matte liquid lipstick. I have the colors Loyal, Committed and Charming. Loyal is a bright true red, Committed is a dusty pinky nude shade with a sliiight coral undertone, and Charming is a deep mauve that can work for day or night. The formula is soft and has almost a whipped like texture. Seriously, of all the Matte liquids I've tried, theBalm's Meet Matte has the best application. I never get those hard lines I get with other liquid mattes, and it's very easy to apply. The colors are wearable, vibrant, and they are completely transfer proof after they dry. Not only are they transfer proof, they don't budge. You can eat and drink without anything moving. Although depending what you're eating (say a burger) the middle can fade a bit. The wear time is absolutely incredible. I rarely ever have to reapply when I'm wearing this lipstick. Unlike most matte formulas I have tried, I find this to be the smoothest and the one that makes my lips look the least aged. I'm 33 and certain mattes really make my lips look much older than they are. Even with the bright red, I don't have any settling into the lines of my lips. This in of itself is a complete win in my book. It's also the most comfortable matte liquid to wear, IMO. It's lightweight and doesn't feel like my lips are slathered in dry paint after it sets. It doesn't taste like anything. They have a minty candy like scent that I find totally yummy. When you apply it you get a very subtle mint type of feeling that dissapates after it sets. I love it, some may not, and some may not notice it. The scent also dissipates after the lipstick sets. Upon first inspection you may think the formula looks chunky, but it applies like a dream. It's kind of weird that is looks like it's chunky but it's not, not really. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a high quality liquid matte with amazing staying power, amazing color payoff and pigmentation, that doesn't make your lips look like the Crypt Keeper...try this.

Absolutely perfect! Stays put for hours on end. I bought this to cover a bruise on my lip and it worked amazingly well, stayed put for hours and covered completely without looking overdone.

It’s such a pretty color!!! It’s super smooth, it’s got mint something in it so it feels a tad tingling and cooling til it dries and smells amazing. It doesn’t hydrate my lips much, but it in no way dries my lips out, and I think it moisturizes my lips a bit cause they get a little softer when I use it. It goes on super smooth, and is easy to apply. It never “cracks” like some matte lipsticks. My only complaint is longevity. It’ll last all day, if you don’t eat anything, lick your lips much, or make out. If you eat anything other than a snack like a banana or something that won’t touch your lips, it’ll come right off and you’ll definitely have to reapply. Kissing is pretty good, as long as it’s not intense. You certainly won’t cover whoever your kissing in lipstick, as though it wears down pretty fast, it’s absolutely transfer-proof once it dries. With just normal wear, licking your lips and drinking and eating, you’ll have to reapply once or twice. But for all the other pluses, it’s definitely worth it, especially if you don’t like wearing matte lipstick because it dries out your lips

Color - the color is dark on me, but I'm very, milk white. For someone with medium skin, this might be a nude color. It's sort of got a purple, mauve-ish tone, but darker than the usual mauve color that I've seen. I think its' very flattering even though I have a warm skintone in which cool colors usually look bad. I really think this would literally look good on everyone, though especially light and medium skintones or those with light or medium colored lips. It might look great on dark skin, but I really can't make any guess because I'm so light. Consistency - it's a moussey consistency, unlike the Lime Crime, watery texture. It's smooth to get on and takes a minute to dry, which I think is good because you can wipe away any mistakes that you make before they dry. Lasting Power: This stuff doesn't come off. It lasts even in the inside of my lips except after a greasy meal, in which I just re-apply in the insides of my lips and everything stays perfect. It can smudge if you rub it rather than flaking off like other lipsticks, but it has to be seriously rubbed off. I only know this because I subjected it to a shower test in which I put it under hot, running water for the whole shower and then fiercely rubbed it. It still would not fully come off. Which leads me to my next category of ranking... How Much pressure can it stand up against?: The hot, steaming water for 30 minutes did not budge this whatsoever and when I did rub it lightly, it wouldn't smudge. I had to rub hard in order to make anything happen. Also, when I went to swim team practice (two hours of intense swimming and diving) it didn't move. It was still on. I'm impressed.

I first tried this product (in another color, Committed) when my makeup artist recommended it for my wedding...and have loved it ever since! First of all, it really is as long lasting as advertised. This product lasted on me all throughout my wedding, without me needing to touch up at all (and if it can last through an event as busy and chaotic as a wedding, it will last through just about anything). I have since put this specific product on in the morning for work, and never had to retouch--even after eating and drinking. It also goes on smoothly and has a lightweight texture, almost like wearing nothing at all. In fact, this is the most lightweight lip color product I have ever worn, for any brand. The Charming color is perfect for anyone who likes brownish neutrals. It's a pinkish brown that's sort of a darker version of Committed. It has a definite brownish undertone, but has just enough rose in it to keep it from being too "90s" either. Lastly, the scent is delightful. However, it's also pretty distinctive and strong so if you don't like fragrances (or only light ones), this is one to skip (especially since it lingers a bit--at least, it does on me). The funny thing is that the brand itself describes it as a vanilla mint, but me and my makeup artist thought it smelled like a chocolate mint (like one of those Andes candies). I'm normally not much of a mint fan, yet liked this one! Overall, an excellent product!

I'm going to start by saying that this is the best lip product I've ever used in my life and one of my favorite shades, but definitely the one I wear almost daily. I am not huge on writing long reviews but I will just mention what I feel most strongly about this product: I initially received this as a sample in my ipsy bag nearly 5 months ago. I just ran out of the tiny sample after wearing it nearly every day and decided to purchase the full size. And holy cow, the full size is much larger than pictured in the diagram (I guess I have small hands?) but this will probably last me at least a year and most likely longer. I love this shade. It is subtle enough to wear every day and goes great with full make up or no makeup at all. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry running errands and am too lazy to wear makeup, I apply a small amount and go about my day. I am so pale that if I don't wear makeup, people ask me if I am sick or tired. This is tiring enough in itself and this lipstick gives me enough subtle color to not look too pale. This is also a long wearing lipstick. It may need a touch up throughout the day but it's not a problem for me. I love the minty vanilla scent. I plan on eventually owning all the shades but just always HAVE to own this one indefinitely.

I absolutely love this brand! I only had to reapply a couple times on my wedding day. It never transferred to my husband or smeared at all. Seriously an all day wear! I added to photos from the wedding day, taken about 8 hours apart. The lipstick still looked great!

Ich persönlich denke, dass die Farben nicht sehr gut dargestellt sind und empfehle deshalb jedem, der sich für einen dieser Lippenstifte interessiert, online nach Swatch-Videos/Fotos zu suchen. Committed ist ein wunderschöner rostrot/braun/rosa-Ton (schwer zu beschreiben), der sehr alltagstauglich ist. Die Formulierung ist der Hammer! Sehr leicht, gut deckend, nicht streifig und hält wirklich den ganzen Tag. Definitiv vergleichbar mit Jeffree Star und Kat von D liquid lipsticks, wenn nicht sogar besser. Der Geruch ist Minzig und angenehm. Überleg schon, ob ich mir noch mehr Farben kaufe :)

Der Flüssige Lippenstift von theBalm in Sincere, war quasi ein Erbstück in meiner Familie und ich bin bestimmt schon für Lagerprobleme bei Douglas wegen diesem kleinen Helfer verantwortlich gewesen. Er hat nicht nur die perfekte Farbe, sondern gibt den Lippen ein natürliches, wenn auch betontes Finish. Auch wirken meine Lippen ein wenig voluminöser und im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen vergleichbaren Lippenstiften trocknet mir dieser trotz der vielen Verwendung nie die Lippen aus. Zwar hält er vllt nicht über mehrere Stunden, doch habe ich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass er, wenn er leicht abgeht, dies gleichmäßig tut und keine hässlichen Rückstände hinterlässt, sodass ich ihn schnell und einfach nach 2-3 Stunden Tragezeit nachtragen kann. Auch das angenehme Gefühl auf den Lippen und der Duft sind ein Plus! Ich werde ihn wohl die nächsten Jahrzehnte nicht missen können! :D
