โChemical engineering is the field of applied science that employs physical, chemical, and biological rate processes for the betterment of humanity.โ This opening sentence of Chapter 1 has been the underlying paradigm of chemical engineering. Chemical Engineering: A New Introduction is designed to enable the student to explore the activities in which a modern chemical engineer is involved by focusing on mass and energy balances in liquid-phase processes. Problems explored include the design of a feedback level controller, membrane separation, hemodialysis, optimal design of a process with chemical reaction and separation, washout in a bioreactor, kinetic and mass transfer limits in a two-phase reactor, and the use of the membrane reactor to overcome equilibrium limits on conversion. Mathematics is employed as a language at the most elementary level. Professor Morton M. Denn incorporates design meaningfully; the design and analysis problems are realistic in format and scope. Students using this text will appreciate why they need the courses that follow in the core curriculum. Review: Great Price for a Hard to Find Textbook! - This particularly textbook gets good reviews but finding a hardbound edition that was clean wasn't easy. desertcart had it at a good price, well below the list price. This book is good for Freshman Chemical Engineering majors as a reference and supplement. Review: Good. - one problem though - The book itself is very well written where it falls short is with examples. It provides a few practice questions but doesn't give the answers. wish it had given the final numerical answers for the problems at least then you could check if your answers were correct. used in conjunction with classnotes then this book is very good. it falls short with a lack of solved examples however. would definitely recommend this product for your introductory chem engineering course, very helpful.

Bad book
Doesn't worth this at all, you can get more information about chemical engineering from Google, and the content about the field is really limited.

It's good, yet lacks insight into the issues facing engineers ...
It's good, yet lacks insight into the issues facing engineers in their professions - working in groups, often with different disciplines or scientists (omg) but at times strokes the kind of reasoning behind why many became engineers. A good read.
