Is the view area 11x14 or less?

It comes with matting, if you use the matting as it is, which worked perfectly for me the size is 8x10 if you use no matting at all it's 13 1/2 by 10 1/2. You can cut the mat or buy mat to the size you need. I'm very happy with my Frame but it's not an expensive piece of artwork in it either but work by my 8 year old grand daughter. Hope this helps.

These hangers that come with it are very confusing ... Any tips or visuals to help with how to attach them so I can hang these pics up?

Very simple. Buy a toothed hanger and nail to top frame. ;)

Will this frame hold a canvas or only pictures?

It's a thin frame so only pictures

I'm confused! The description states "unmatted, it holds an 11x14", yet a review states the unmatted size is less than 11x14. Which is right?!

If you remove the mat an 11x14 poster (for instance) will fit perfectly. I sent a beautiful 11x14 print and this frame to a friend. If she had not taken the mat out part of the poster would have been cut off. Hope this helps.
