Although finance is a huge subject and hardly achievable to summarize in 240 pages, the author did a great job of touching on the major points and making them understandable. The point of the book is to focus on the courses of an MBA that are affected by Wall St and I believe that is exactly what you will get once you complete this book. In summary, this is a great book for someone that is seriously interested in the metrics Wall St looks at and also that same person should have a more than pedestrian knowledge of finance to not get completely blown away by the material. Review: Great Book - Great overview of applicable finance. I am working towards a MS/MBA; I was looking to tighten my skill set and refresh my memory. Very easy read, great information .

Absolutely Fantastic
This book is fantastic and is a must read for anyone that is interested in corporate finance. The beginning of the book begins with accounting and covers all the topics in a clear and accurate manner, however if your new to balance sheets, income and cash flow statements and want to get your hands dirty in accounting for assets , liabilities and equity I would use the first part of the book as a template for continuing your studies. The true value comes in my opinion in the second part FINANCE, when he clearly puts everything together and in an accurate and easy to understand approach when he explains "cost of capital" and how to set properly set "Valuations" on companies. This book is a MUST read as his approach and teaching method in my opinion is TOP GRADE. Great work!

Very basic principles of Finance
A well organized book, but too simple for anyone who works with Finance. This book is aimed at those who are searching for basic knowledge, and certainly does not have not a "MBA"-like content. The first chapters on accounting and corporate finance are good, but the last few are very shallow.

Good read
I purchased this book to help me touch up on some areas in finance and accounting that I needed refreshers in. I feel the content in this book is representative of 200-300 level college courses for the most part, but does a good job of breaking everything down barney style. I give it 5 stars because it served its intended purpose for me. Good examples and a simple, easy-to-read style make this book a great choice for junior level college students in finance.

a good introduction to Wall Street
Reuben gave the reader a high level view covering major topics in the world of finance , corporations, real estate and of course Wall Street . The book is engaging with stories connected to financial concepts which makes reading the book more interesting. The book by no means should be take as a detailed knowledge base for anything but just a starting point if you are deciding to start investing or trying to understand the technical terms in finance bit better. Definitely recommended.

Good overview of finance concepts
If you're after an overview of the basic financial concepts an MBA would cover, it's a great book. Doesn't try to sex up or dumb down the sometimes dry nature of the concepts, but it's never dull. Some interesting case studies too on companies like Enron.

Good overview of corporate finance and accounting for non-finance professionals.
This is a pretty good book overview of corporate finance and accounting for non-finance professionals. I'm currently navigating my way through the CFA program. There were a few topics in the curriculum that I just could not grasp, even after reading the texts over and over. Those topics are presented in a straightforward way in this book, and suddenly those topics I couldn't quite grasp became very clear to me. Several simple real-world examples are also provided to help clarify the topic areas.
