Review: My three year old Granddaughter LOVES this book - My granddaughter (3yo) has truly loved bugs, rocks, leaves and sticks since she could crawl. We got her a magnifying glass and this book and another science book. She now describes herself as a scientist and wears goggles, uses an egg carton, plastic cups and has her own collection box for collecting dead bugs and making bug houses for them. One bug disintegrated when she picked it up revealing its inner structures. She said, Look Grandma! Bones! This book stimulates discussion, curiosity, walks in the yard, garden, neighborhood, and park. The book is a launching pad for discussions about measuring, counting, waiting for nature to come to you, looking at nature but letting critters go home at night, thinking about how the critters feel, capturing only dead animals to keep, and washing hands if not using nitrile gloves.
