ONLY MERCILESS LOVE TAMES THE DARKEST HEARTS... The name's Evan Cole, and I deserve to burn for what I've done. The girl with the rocking body I saved yesterday believes I'm some kinda hero. You'd think she'd recognize evil after staring it in the face all her life, but with me, Cassie's completely blind. She doesn't know this house is a prison. She doesn't know the cartel's got my son. She doesn't know I'm a selfish, desperate, pissed off imposter, and I'll do anything to get my boy home. Dealing in flesh is nothing new. Remorse is a word I never learned. Turning her into a new toy for the savage blackmailing me should be a cakewalk. Except it isn't. There's a deeper, crazier part of me that starts to blaze whenever I see her. I just can't shake these insane fantasies about hauling Cassie to bed and working out the pain, the rage, the insatiable lust, claiming her as mine and nobody else's... No! I need to forget all that and get on with this sideshow. I can't go soft. If I do, the whole damn world's gonna crash down and bury everything I've ever cared about. Review: A dark, gritty, and very passionate romance! - I love Nicole Snowโs MC romances, but I have to say that this is her darkest, grittiest story yet. I was on edge through the whole thing. The book is a whirlwind of red hot passion, desperate desires, and two screwed up people finally ending up happy together after crawling through Hades. Merciless Love introduces us to Evan Cole, a man who's lost everything except his boy. The cartel is blackmailing him and wants him to do the unspeakable. The man is alpha as heck, tough talking, filthy in the bedroom. It doesn't seem like it's even possible for him to work through his pain and desperation but that's where Snow surprises. Heroine Cassie is younger and she's been through the wringer too. After growing up in a cult with a cruel father, she thinks Evan has saved her from that world. Then the real shock comes with what he has planned. I wish I could say more but it would totally ruin all the crazy twists and turns in this book! This is a really wild romance that's not for the faint of heart. It registers REALLY high on the dark and twisted meter so be sure you like this kind of book before buying. I couldn't put it down and plowed right through it to see what would happen next. If you love dark romances, don't miss this! Review: From the fires of hell into the flames of desire... - I've only read two other books by Nicole Snow...her first two Prairie Devils...because usually biker books really get me going...but this one...wow...a dark and action packed change of pace for her and one that I really enjoyed! Some bad people do bad things for all the wrong reasons...some bad people do good things for all the wrong reasons and yet sometimes good people do bad things for the right reasons and all of these scenarios are explored in this twisted and dark non-romantic but totally an unconventional love story. Confused? Well don't be...this one had me from the first few nail-biting pages and kept me steadily reading until I was done, because you really want to...no NEED to know how things will play out. When Cassie is rescued from one hell (her father and the religious cult they belonged to) and taken to another one (thinking she was saved by a kind stranger) and thrown into the desperate world of Evan and his sister-in-law Izzy...you just knew no good would come from her fate. She is to be used in an exchange...one life for another...and the life Evan seeks to save is more precious to him than Cassie, a virtual stranger to him who was basically in the wrong place at the wrong time and became a pawn in his scheme. Of course many things happen to cause a change in plans and when feelings and sexual chemistry get involved...all bets are off and new plans emerge. I was very happy with the direction the story went (although this basic plot has been done in other books)..it was an emotional and sexy read that had some tense moments and graphic violence along the way. Evan's character was one of those alpha males who get the job done with no remorse, but he had a conscience and it was interesting to read his inner dialogue as he went back and forth with his decisions...while Cassie morphed from an innocent to a stronger woman. **** 4 **** "from the fires of hell into the flames of desire" stars

Just okay for me...
It took me a while to finish reading this. I have an issue with my H's having been married/in real love before. But unless something absolutely ridiculous happens, I have to finish a book. The book starts out with the h, Cassie being beaten by her father. They belong to a religious cult, and he is horrible!! She gets "saved" by the Hero, Evan. Evan's back is against the wall. His son is being held captive by a leader of the cartel he once worked for. After killing Evan's wife, Evan knows he has to get his son back as soon as possible. The only way to do that is to find the cartel leader a female to become his slave. Enter Cassie. After "saving" her, the story begins. For me, it came down to connection, along with bad assery, I like the romance and love I feel from the characters. I didn't feel it here. He referenced his wife too many times for me to believe he could love another so soon. He was bad ass, and would literally kill for the h, but I felt Cassie was a means to an end. Don't get me wrong, I believe he loved her, but if his wife were to walk in the room he would run to her, mummified and all. However if you like a bit of action, guns, a foul mouthed, bad ass, scary H (I like all of this), but can do without the all consuming love portion of a book, I would recommend this to you.

Shockingly good dark romance
There's romantic suspense, and then there's Nicole Snow's new book Merciless Love. I went into this story expecting a tough talking alpha and a hot erotic romance like her other books. Oh I got the alpha, the loving, and the dirty talk. But I also got a really good suspense story with mystery, love, and some seriously complicated characters. Nicole holds nothing back in this novel. Evan Cole is more than just a hot guy with tattoos and a rough past. He's loved and lost, and getting his kid back from a brutal cartel is all that matters. Cassie is the last person in the world who should fall for him because she's already lost so much. I love this story because it shows us love (and plenty of CRAZY HOT sexy times) can spring up in the strangest places. Both H and h start off in really bad places, the worst a person can face, but they end up in each other's arms. It's dark and there is a HEA waiting. The journey is what's really incredible about this book and the reason I give it a strong five stars!

Couldn't put it down
Evan, the hero, is in a really bad place at the beginning of this dark romance--he has killed somebody he shouldn't have killed. The brutal leader of a cartel has murdered his wife and snatched his young son in revenge. To save his son, Evan must capture and train a new slave for the sadistic villain. Into this mess comes the heroine, Cassie, who is on the run from a crazy religious cult. She looks like the answer to Evan's problem. But it's not long before Evan and Cassie start to have feelings for each other. Can Evan figure out a way to save his son without sacrificing Cassie? This was a dark read that manages to have a sympathetic hero. Evan has a murderous past, and he is plenty hot and alpha, but he also cares about people and tries to protect them. The chemistry between him and the heroine is both steamy and believable (mouth-watering sex scenes!), and the pacing was great--once you start reading this one, you'll find it impossible to put down.

Darker, but good
This book is certainly different from my normal reads. There's more violence in it, but it's part of what makes the characters who they are. The character's personalities and the events that happen in the book match up well. I really liked Cassie. She was strong, determined, and willing to learn and help. It sucks that she went through some of the abuse she did go through, but it made her stronger. You would think after everything she's been through, she'd be either broken, depressed, numb, or always angry. Instead, she was strong and had a kind heart. I enjoyed seeing the struggles Evan and Izzy went through. They had a tough choice to make, either save the boy or trade Cassie. To me, Evan may have been rough around the edges and tough, but he had a bigger heart than he gave himself credit for. After all, he saved Cassie twice, even if it was for his own selfish reasons. You could tell Izzy wasn't completely comfortable with some of the major events that took place or was going to happen. All the main characters had struggles and tough choices they had to make. You could tell that not every decision is or can be as easy as they seem. I do wish we had heard more about Ty's son. There wasn't much interaction with him, but that's understandable since the boy wasn't with Ty. I just wish we could have gotten more of a feel for the boy's personality.

Loved this! I think I've read all of Nicole ...
Loved this! I think I've read all of Nicole Snow's MC romances now, so when I saw this dark romance by her, I definitely wanted to check it out. It's kind of similar to her MC ones, but not quite. I liked the beginning a lot. It was right in the moment, but a different kind of moment, you know? Cassie's having an argument with her father over something kind of weird, but interesting. And then... Well, things happen, suddenly Evan is there, and he takes her. It's a strange sort of situation, but I liked it. She thinks he's helping her, but he's not really. Or is he? I liked the sort of back and forth interplay there between the darkness and salvation, though. I thought that was interesting and it fits with a lot of what I'd expect from a Nicole Snow romantic suspense novel. Her MC ones had tinges of this in a lot of ways, too. Mainly, what if there's salvation in darkness? It's an interesting thought. Things might be bad, but maybe they're still better than they were? Cassie and Evan have some rough times in this one, and it's really gritty and real, but I loved the story. I'd definitely recommend it. If you like this one, there's plenty more by Nicole Snow that are similar and great, too (the MC/biker romance ones). Really great book and dark in all the right ways!

Definitely Dark
This book is definitely not for the faint of heart or the queasy stomach. It's very raunchy and disturbing but I suppose it had to be in order to get the point made that there is evil in the world and it comes in different forms. You will want to stop reading but in your mind you convince yourself that there's got to be some good that comes from this young woman's tormented story of abuse and deception. It is as the title says a dark romance. Read it if you must but if you have a hard time hearing the stories of abuse on the news, close this book. Better still don't open it; it will sends chills to the depths of your soul.
