Real Roku and voice search works
1) Layout is Good So first of all this is a real Roku remote that's a perfect replacement for the remote that came with my TCL Roku TV. All the buttons are in the same place with two exceptions: The voice search button is added in between the back arrow and star button and the the preset buttons were arranged two rows of two instead of vertical. That said, this upgraded remote was made with a feel so similar to the original remote that I needed 0 time to become accustom to the new layout. 2) False Advertising Regarding Preset Buttons So if you're like me, you see the blank preset buttons in the product photos, and think "finally, I'm rid of useless presets and can set my own." Nope! The four presets came loaded with Netflix, Parmount Plus, and two services that I don't have: Disney Plus and Apple TV. This what I hated most about the original remote which had a preset for Amazon Prime and Netflix, but also included Sling and CBS News (seriously it did) which I didn't have. Roku, let me choose presets when ordering the remote if I can't set them myself instead of sending me remotes with the presets apparently randomly chosen! 3) Pairing was Easy I'm the type who reads the instructions, but they were short and simple. Go to the Roku home screen. Put the batteries in, and press the pairing button located in the battery compartment until the indicator light in the battery compartment flashes green. I didn't even get to pressing the pairing button. As soon as the batteries in, the indicator starting flashing, and the word "pairing" started flashing on my TCL Roku TV. Within seconds I had a second working Roku remote (and the other one continues to work too so I can use either now). 4) Voice search works I was a little concerned that this feature wouldn't work well given the inexpensive price, but it does! I can request to open a particular Roku App like Amazon Prime or Youtube, but I am also able to use voice to navigate around inside of an App. So for example, 1) I was able to use the voice feature to go to Netflix, and then open a particular show inside of Netflix; and 2) I was able to use voice to go to Youtube, and then specifically request by voice to open my Watch Later list. Oh... and you can search out a particular show from the home menu with voice so you can simply say "House of the Dragon" and it will pull up options to watch it. Overall: I was disappointed by the presets were pre-populated, but at least Roku didn't stick CBS News on one of them this time. I was surprised at how well the voice function works as it makes finding programs so much easier. Overall, this is worth the relatively inexpensive price to upgrade your Roku experience, and I really wish I had seen a mention sooner that Roku voice remotes existed.

How To Pair This Remote To An Older Roku Player
I have an older Roku 3 Model 4200 that came with an IR-Remote. I wanted to move up to this WiFi-Remote with voice recognition. Initially, This new WiFi-remote would not "Pair" to my Roku-3 using the basic instructions that came in the box. I had to go through some additional procedures but in the end, i got it to work and it works great. If you are having a "pairing" problem, give this a try. NOTE: this only works if you still have your older remote... if you are replacing a lost remote (meaning you dont currently have a remote) then this procedure wont work... Look at your Roku for its Model number (not just Roku 2 or 3 etc, but the actual model number). Then Go to Wikipedia, search for the Roku wiki page, find your model number, then look under the column titled "Remote" and check that it says "WiFi". If it only says "IR" then this new WiFi Remote may-not work for you. Procedure to Pair the Remote to Roku player... 1. Power on the Roku and TV Note that scrolling through screens as i describe below might be different on your Roku so just focus on finding the "Settings" and "Advanced settings" and "Remote" screens. 2. Using your OLD Remote... Scroll to "Settings" > "Advanced Settings" > "Add Devices" > "Remotes", and make sure that the checkbox for "Add remotes" is checked. If box is checked then go to Step-3 (below). If box is NOT checked, then scroll to that check-box, hit the Select button to check that box. Then REBOOT your Roku and go to Step-3... Note: (no batteries in new remote just yet). 3. Using your old IR remote, head to Settings, then Remotes (some boxes say Devices first, then Remotes) then Add a new remote. 4. Insert the batteries in your new Remote and then hold down the Pairing button for five seconds until green-light flashes (i did-not have to Hold the button down... the remote began flashing and went into pairing-mode the instant that i inserted the batteries). Within 10 seconds my Roku-player and remote paired-up and the new Remote was fully useable (FYI...the old remote will still work). If the above doesnt work for you, try rebooting your Roku one more time. If that doesnt work then there is another issue you will need to search for.

Roku Voice Remote
First of all I received this item early...big plus...It works great with my Roku Stick. I want to leave info on how it works so you won't have to go through what I did. First of all on the instruction sheet there is nothing on how to connect to a Roku Stick. Most would get this as a replacement, I myself got it so I could have a remote on my side of the bed. Here are the directions to pair your remote to your stick. Follow these directions, it is so easy..if you have put your batteries in your new remote..remove them. If you still have your remote that came with your Roku Stick use it to do the following, Go to settings>system>power>system restart>restart. When your roku device displays the Home screen..insert batteries in your new remote. point towards tv wait 30 seconds to see if your remote establishes connection...you should see on the screen "pairing" when that disappears your new remote should be paired. So far it works great...I love the volume control...haven't tried the voice remote part yet. I hope this helps.

Got the remote 11 March,2022 to replace the remote that came with my TCL Roku smart Tv and I have to say it is worth it, The TCL remote barely couldn't read my inputs 70% of the time and when I hit a button the remote thinks I hit something else and kick me out of the streaming service I am using. Once I change the remote all my problems were solve. The Roku Remote has no problem setting up basically pair to my TV in seconds and also the voice command is very responsive and understands what I want my TV to do. and Also another good reason to get this Remote is that the build of this Remote doesn't feel cheap in compare to the TCL remote that comes with the TV, like the buttons feels better and has a matte design which feel like the remote is more sturdy and well made, I highly suggest getting this for yourself if your TCL remote is dying you won't regret it.

Love the voice remote - makes searching for anything much easier. Better than the built-in apps on my smart TV. Recommend!
