The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark (A Pout-Pout Fish Adventure)

My daughter, who is nearly 2, absolutely loves the original Pout-Pout Fish book. It's her go-to book when she wants a story read to her but it stays at grandma's house. So, I wanted to find another book in the seties to have at home since she is always requesting "Pout Kiss". "The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark" looked to have the highest rating next to the original so I opted for this one. The story is very cute and sing-song-like, with bits of alliteration thrown in. It's super fun to read and the rhyming is done very well so everything flows nicely when reading. The pictures are detailed and interesting and you can always find something you didn't notice before. My daughter is always pointing to different things on each page so it really holds her attention and interest. This book and the original would make the perfect gift for a young reader or an expectant mother. We absolutely love Pout-Pout Fish!! I'll definitely be buying more of the series.

Who doesn't love the Pout Pout fish?! The stories are always so cute! My grandson is currently obsessed with the Pout Pout fish books (he's 2) and you can't just read them one time. We have to read them multiple times with sound effects. I bought him several of these books for his birthday. They're sturdy and he is pretty rough with them. Buy the first one and read it; you will fall in love with this pouty little fish!

This book is fabulous for any youngster who’s a fan of the pout pout fish or who is afraid of the dark. My soon-to-be 5 year old is both and was absolutely captivated. He kept saying “I’m afraid of the dark, too.” Or “go back up!” And I would remind him that he had promised his friend Mrs Clam that he would find her pearl. It’s a great story of keeping promises, helping your friends, and being courageous/overcoming fears. Of course as soon as we finished it he had his big sister read it to him again. 1000% recommend it.

First the god, My son, who is 2, loved the first pout pout fish book and was so excited to see this. He loves this book and asks for it regularly at bed time. We had been reading to him, then turning the light out and leaving the room and he would go to sleep shortly after. After the second or 3rd time of reading this book he did not want us to leave him and would scream and chase after us. I asked what was wrong and he said "Scared" which really was not something he had ever said or used before this book. I don't blame this book in a negative way but I think it just introduce the idea that the dark might have something worth being afraid of. No we read till he falls asleep. No big deal.

Not as quite as fun as the original but we still enjoy it :)

This is an amazing book! The illustrations are genius and the story is creative, playful, and communicates a great message. We LOVE Mr. Fish and his friends. My 4 yr-old son loves to "read" the book to us and the repetition and illustrations allow him to tell a funny, creative, thoughtful story of his own. We have quite a collection of books, but Mr. Fish and the two Pout-Pout Fish stories we have are quickly moving to the top of the list for our favorite books. We've read each book every night since Christmas. The Pout-Pout Fish is my son's book of choice! I highly recommend this book! I love the message that you can be fast, strong, smart & afraid of something -- but, with the help of your friends you can face your fear and be ok. We love this book!!!

This is the most loved book in our home! My little ones want it read again and again—they never get tired of it. It's so entertaining, well written, and full of humor that keeps both kids and adults smiling. We absolutely adore The Pout-Pout Fish series, but this one is definitely our favorite. It’s the perfect mix of fun and heart, with catchy rhymes and lovable characters. Fantastic as a gift for any toddler or young child—honestly, it’s the best children’s book we own. I would buy again. Highly recommended!

My two boys love pout pout fish. This one is very good. I bought it when my son was afraid of the dark for the first time (just when he turned 5) and it helped to talk about it openly and for him to feel we understand and that he can overcome Fear.
