Ombar Vegan Chocolate, 72% Cacao Organic Dark Chocolate 70 g Fairtrade All Natural Ingredients

I absolutely love dark chocolate and cacao and although this was a tad pricey for a treat and a small bar at that, it has a taste and texture I find far superior to any other brands I've tried. So to me, it was worth it especially as it's a super healthy boost too. I loved this.

If you're a fan of any of the Ombar chocolates, you'll probably enjoy this one too. It's rich but does taste different compared to regular dark chocolate, probably because it's vegan and made with coconut (you can't taste the coconut really). I put off purchasing for a while because I find the other Ombar flavours in the range (plain and filled chocolates) to be rich enough and thought the 72% dark might be too rich but it's much of the same really. Nice having a larger 70g bar compared to the dinky 35g ones that Ombar also sells. I do admittedly prefer Ombar's filled chocolates as you get a nicer texture with the thin layer of chocolate and the soft centre but I'd still definitely get this plain bar again, it's a tasty treat if you enjoy rich chocolatey goodness.

Too more-ish.... tasty but pricey

You can smell the quality of the chocolate before tasting it! Been a fan of Ombar for years! It’s smooth and just the right amount of strength at 72%. This one has only 3 ingredients which is hard to come by on confectionary these days! No palm oil in sight!! Highly recommend and it is more expensive however you do pay for quality and I value my health too much to spend 50p less on the likes of a cheaper brand.

I always eat at least a 70% dark chocolate and have been purchasing another well known brand of dark cacao organic chocolate from Amazon and this came up too as an alternative to try. Unfortunate it’s not to my taste and not as nice as the other chocolate. It all comes down to a matter of taste at the end of the day and we are all different in what we enjoy. This wasn’t very ‘smooth’ and tasted quite ‘dry’, it had little sweetness. It wasn’t bitter and I couldn’t taste coconut like some, but that wouldn’t have been a problem. Just not as enjoyable as others. I tried it on my husband who will eat any chocolate and he wasn’t keen either which is unheard of. Sorry Ombar.

I was impressed with this natural chocolate, you can taste it's not refined like most of these dark chocolates. This is what you want raw and unrefined and a good flavour.

Not overly keen on the taste. And a tad pricey for the size.
