This 2 CD set includes all of Vangelis biggest hits, as well as a further collection of singles, rare B-sides and a previously unreleased track from the artists unique catalog. Includes music from BLADE RUNNER, 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE, and the Oscar winning CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Review: Excellent rare CD - Exceptionally excellent, masterpiece of recording; original recording , no fake Russian copies; it was worth all pennies. As an Audiophile I appreciate this and the seller Review: A Christmas present to myself - I already have the cd Portraits, which was kind of a single album of best hits of Vangelis, except it didn't have any of the blade Runner movie soundtrack. Collections is a two-disc collection with most of the same music but also some of the Blade Runner soundtrack and some newer music created after Portraits (I love the music from Opera Sauvage and also Conquest of Paradise). I was surprised on the second disc how much I like the last track "Remembering" which has a saxophone track that just fits so melodically with Vangelis' instrumentation and also the collaborations with Stina Nordenstam on Ask the Mountains. Did I mention L'Enfant from Opera Sauvage is the track before Remembering. What a way to end a collection. The second disc starts with Rachel's Theme, Missing, and Love Theme from Blade Runner while on the first disc you have Blade Runner (Main Titles) and Tears in Rain so the greatest music from that movie. There also are four collaborations with Jon Anderson of Yes fame (and So Long Ago, So Clear and I'll Find My Way Home are my favorite two of the collaborations and the other two are pretty great two as the two of them were such a harmony of the electronic music and Anderson's voice).

Great collection
While this 2 Disk collection is an excellent set of Vangelis songs, they are, essentially a selection of his "greatest hits" put together in this single double-disk set. The songs are gathered in an order that generates a pleasant listening experience, but does somewhat twist the timeline of his lengthy career. Disk one features Vangelis' more "musical" tunes including several pieces from the many movie scores he's created. Disk two features "ambient" pieces that run longer (on average) so there are fewer selections on the second disk. In total, there are 31 selections and it is an excellent set reflecting Vangelis lengthy career in music. (4 instead of 5 stars since this is just a presentation of previously existing pieces, that a "true fan" is likely to already have scattered through a reasonably comprehensive collection of Vangelis albums. (Although I bought the album simply to have a single collection pre-curated for me.) For someone who has not previously collected much from Vangelis' catalog, this is a great cross section of his work.

So complete!
I have an older Vangelis greatest hits album that is really good, but this one, has many many more songs that the first one. I also lacks some of the first album, so having both for Vangelis fans, could be a great idea. The melodies and songs are the best from him, if you want more, you will need to buy album by album and he has a lot! You will really enjoy his beautiful music with this CDs.

A Must have collection for fans of Vangelis !
A Must have collection for fans of Vangelis and electronic music. A double disc collection of early and later works too. Listen and Enjoy. RIP VANGELIS 5/17/2022. The music world has lost another great composer and musician.

Classic Vangelis
As another reviewer said, this is a collection of popular older Vangelis. That's it, plain and simple. And that's what I was looking for. This 3-CD collection has all the good stuff I listened to over and over again when I was a kid. But without the "tape hiss." Spiral, Pulstar, Albedo, Unknown man... all sound really great. (When playing Spiral my subwoofer wakes up. How cool.)

Vangelis and Jon Anderson of Yes cannot be bad!
I was not too familiar with any of Vangelis other work other than “Chariots of Fire” theme. I was surprised to hear Jon Anderson of Yes singing on some tracks. Takes awhile to get used to their style but was glad I ordered a greatest hits collection! Pretty good value for 2 new CDs.
