Palm Island Deluxe

For context: I've only ever played this solo. I love the legacy aspect of the game. Earning the Feat cards is exactly like unlocking achievements, and having them added to the deck for future games extends that sense of accomplishment and helps push you forward to achieve even more. I don't care for some of the feats, however. Next to Statue of Trust (which potentially gives you two of each resource), Heart of the mountain (which gives you one stone) seems like a worthless waste of space—an important consideration for an entirely handheld game! By the way, I'm IN LOVE with the fact that this is entirely handheld! We need more games like this (and its sister game, Palm Laboratory)—maybe one with dragons and magic! Some of the mechanics are counterintuitive though. The instructions direct you to add earned feats to the end of the deck, but some of them affect the beginning of gameplay... I love the art—the cooperative play cards look like they're straight out of Moana!

I received Palm Island Deluxe as a gift and it's been an amazing addition to my game collection. Its compact size and engaging gameplay make it a constant companion in my car for on-the-go entertainment. The game is easy to learn, which is great for spontaneous gaming sessions with friends or family. I'm so impressed with it that I'm kickstarting their next game, Palm Lab.

I was really doubtful about this game because it is pricy for a solo game like this. Also, the fact that there was no win condition and it is just point based made me be even more hesitant. I still got it to see and I’m so happy I did. This is a very addicting game! The fact that the cards are shuffled for every game means that every game has its own challenges and every game is it’s own puzzle to solve. It has a very I tweeting mechanic that gives say for surprisingly complex decisions. I have not been able to stop playing it. I haven’t even used the villagers, co-op, and competitive play and have unlocked like 3 feats and I’m already really loving it. This game packs a very big pinch for such a small simple game. If you like puzzles and are interested in such a compact game, get it bc it really is worth it.

This game is better than I thought! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to game, especially solo board gamers. Turn off the screen and play and good game.

all game play takes place in your hand and is fast and fun to play. The version I got was the deluxe version with amazing card quality and a nice little wallet. It also came with a campaign with a set of checkable achievements that once beaten gives you a new card to add to your game. To further change it up there are multiple npc cards that each change the way you score (by giving points for certain buildings for example) or offer you a card that cost you points but givers you resources.

I LOVE this game. I love playing tabletop games, but as we all know, they tend to be restrictive when it comes to many factors such as available space, number of players, and play time. I played this game DURING a conference call today without anyone being the wiser. I've never seen mechanics quite like what are in this game, and they are rock solid. I really appreciate how truly portable this game is. The entire thing we fit in my front pocket, and believe me, I will make this a part of my EDC arsenal.

This game was confusing when I first started to play. Watch a couple video. It is a simple game. Easy to play. A quick game you can play anywhere. It a great game!!!
