Barfly Julep Strainer, Stainless Steel

Nothing amazing but does a good job and looks nice. Easy to use and maintain. So happy, I bought another one!

This pairs perfectly with our mixing glass. Stainless steel means it cleans up well and hopefully not quickly tarnished.

So far it's working well. Seems sturdy and cleans up easy (I clean it in the dishwasher with no heat dry). I'll update my review once I've used it more to better comment on durability, etc.

Use it to strain wattery egg whites when poaching eggs in a pot of hot water. But, only good for average size eggs. Yes, I understand this is not the intended purpose. :-)

I use this gorgeous shiny strainer for cooked greens, beans, fruit salad, anything that needs the liquid drained. Loooove this strainer!

A good quality julep strainer which works very well with mixing glasses. It’s a matter of personal preference what type of strainer to use when making cocktails. I tend to use the Hawthorne type for shaken drinks and the julep strainer for stirred ones. The julep strainer is a bit easier to clean than the Hawthorne and it looks stylish when used with a mixing glass. But there’s not really much to recommend one type over the other; both types of strainer work well and either can be used in conjunction with a fine mesh sieve to make sure that ice shards and fruit pulp are filtered out on pouring. If you want a julep strainer this one is very good and comes at a reasonable price.
