One of a kind
This GBA (Gameboy Advanced) fantasy adventure game was and still is the best game for a handheld system I have ever played. Good story line, fun in-game play, and replay-ability that reminds me of Zombie mode in Black Ops ll every time I play it except your enemies don't sprint at you like an Olympian sprinter.

Love it!
I kind of went backwords in the Fire Emblem game series, going from gamecube to wii to nintendo ds to gameboy advanced and I love the entire series and suggest any game to anyone even slightly interested. The Sacred Stones, even thou I have not yet beaten it totally, is very fun and challenging!! Highly suggest it!!

Counterfeit game.
Comparing the cartridge to other games from childhood this game is obviously a counterfeit. The graphic is obviously fake on the cartridge and the game does not save.

You gotta get this game
Finally, A game that offers the strategic gamer a challenge. On top of that, this game has a story to tell as well. It's like you are playing in a book. This game has great graphics. Parents should be aware that there is violence associated with this game. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate the violence at 3. Peoples oppinions do vary, so my suggestion is to rent the game(If you can find it) and see for yourself. This game has three levels of play (easy, normal and hard). You can play this game again and again and explore how you want the story to develop. I enjoy the game so much that I purchased the earlier version (Fire Emblem) that was released in 2003. I have been to every toy and gaming store in my area and I have not been able to find this game. The only sure way to puchase it is on line. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying it. Good gaming!!

Great All Around
Having started my Fire Emblem crusade with Awakening, Sacred Stones (or FF8) was obviously a step back in several regards. Although it's a little dated, the sounds and visuals are still crisp and appealing. Gameplay is what you'd expect from a handheld but remains true to the Fire Emblem formula. Story: 7/10 The plot centers around five mystical gems, aptly named the Sacred Stones. These items were once used to fend off darkness and are now treasures in the care of prestigious royalty. Twin lords Ephraim and Eirika set out across the continent to keep the stones from being destroyed by evil forces and prevent the resurrection of the Demon King. Along the way the two will be joined by many allies who fight for the same cause. Sounds/Visuals: 8.5/10 Gameplay: 9/10 Traditional Fire Emblem. There is a rock-paper-scissors theme for weapons (swords, lances, axes), as well as bows and magic for ranged attacks, and staves for healing. When not in battle you can traverse the world map while managing your army's weapons and items before each battle. Units are broken down into classes that include the likes of fast-traveling cavaliers and flying pegasus knights, as well as the robust fighters and mercenaries, and of course the illusive mages and thieves. Can be played on normal or hard mode. The difficulty is not only based on how well you command your units, but also on if the RNG Goddess feels like rewarding you. Last but not least, it wouldn't be Fire Emblem without permadeath. Meaning any unit you lose in battle is gone for the rest of the story. This can be avoided by improving tactics (applying strategic use of healers, using items, etc). Or can be circumvented by restarting a chapter whenever a unit dies. Replayablity: 8/10 Characters can be fitted with different weapons to optimize their efficiency in battle. The class promotion system is improved with the addition of branching, allowing you to choose which advanced class you want each person to take (ex: Knights can choose to become Generals or Great Knights). All of this gives a wide range of options and adds to the replay appeal, as you can go through the game again using different parties and tactics. Whatever choices you ignore the first time can be taken in subsequent runs. Halfway through the game the siblings Eirika and Ephraim will part ways to wage war on different battlefronts, essentially giving the game two sub-stories. Getting the whole scope of the conflict will require a second playthrough. There are also numerous support conversations between characters. They are earned by keeping units near one another in battle and help to reveal each person's history, motivations and personalities. The number of supports is limited so to unlock all the conversations will require additional plays. Overall: 8/10 Apart from a short campaign, Sacred Stones is an excellent game worthy of the Fire Emblem title.

FE8!
After several months of trying to find this game used at Gamestop, it finally became available online. However, when it arrived it was not actually Fire Emblem. Upset, I switched to Amazon and found Sacred Stones immediately. I love playing this game; I'd recommend this to any new comer or veteran to the Fire Emblem series. I would especially recommend it to anyone who has played Fire Emblem 6 or 7. Decent story line, but really good characters and chapters. Also, the Creature Campaign is a cool feature that helps level up units pretty easily. Give this game a chance.

doesnt save
i was so excited to get this after looking on ebay and seeing it go for 300 or more. once i got the game it does not save.. at all. so what is the fun in restarting this game every time it glitches? honestly extremely upset over the game not being able to save at all.

Lacks the Personality and Writing of Other Installments
Compared to other Fire Emblem games, it feels like the characters in this one are unbalanced (the growths for some are ridiculously good, while others tend to be mediocre) and lack any personality. For example, Ephraim (the male lead on the left of the box) is described as good at everything and a master tactician. That's it. I can swap the dialog between the characters and you'd never know the difference. Other than that, it plays like a traditional Fire Emblem game.

Wer also einen DS bzw. DS-Lite hat ( nur die ünterstützen GBA Module ) der muss das Game haben. Sofort Kaufen...das ist ein Befehl!!!!
