Premium Family Casting Kit for 3-4 hands

This was a fun and really cool anniversary idea. It came out really great and my wife loves it. There are tutorial videos you really should watch on YouTube prior to diving in to this project. they're not kidding when they say you have to work fast when making the mold. It sets really fast but you'll have enough time to pose your hands and get into the mold before it sets up. Also the lady in the video mixes the casting stone powder with her gloved hands. If you can go to the dollar store and buy a cheap whisk or beater blades I recommend going that route as I mixed the casting stone mix by hand quite well I thought and once I started pouring it into the mold there was still small lumps. The final result still came out great. Couldn't see any lumps or imperfections. If you want you can even paint it .

Incredible keepsake that is not only fun to use but results in a beautiful sculpture that offers a lifetime of memories. I purchased this kit for my daughter’s 42nd birthday. My daughter, her husband and all three kids linked hands and created an incredible statue of their hands this special summer. Incredibly easy to use, great fun for everyone and gorgeous detail for the final product. This is a unique and special way to capture memories.

My mom and Dad were able to make a piece a month before he died. It looks beautiful and my mom treasures it dearly.

I was somewhat nervous about making the mold with an almost 5 year old and 7 year old granddaughters, especially the almost 5 year old. Did not want them to hold still too long so I made sure the water was 70 degrees. It was messy mixing but got it done and got their hands into the mix. It did not take very long which was great. It has a few flaws but not enough to ruin it. I did not realize the one granddaughter had her arm bent too much and her wrist and one finger had touched the bottom and side. I did a little sanding! Next time I won’t be so nervous and now know my mistakes. For my first try it turned out great and was a Mother’s Day gift for them to give to their mom. I think she will love it! I highly recommend this kit!

So excited about the sculpture my boyfriend and I created on our 3-year Anniversary! We wanted something fun and special to do together and my friend who had done a hand cast before with her husband suggested this. It was so fun - we couldn't stop laughing! And really quick and easy. The instructions are super clear. I can't believe the skin detail, it picks up everything, and I kept my rings on, which came out perfectly. I would definitely recommend the Edinburgh Casting Studio kits...they seem like the best quality, and it arrived very quickly.

We did this as a date night almost 4 years ago. This is still a main art piece in our house and gets compliments all the time. It's survived multiple moves and still looks great.

I recently purchased this casting kit, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The instructions were clear and easy to follow. We used it for 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids) and it worked so well!

The project failed because there was not enough alginate. We followed the instructions to the letter but even with all 4 bags of powder mixed into the prescribed quantity of water, the bucket was only half full which was not deep enough for a full submersion. So the end result wasn't quite what we were going for. I contacted the supplier to recommend that they include at least an additional 2 bags of alginate in the kit, preferably even 4 bags for a total of 8 (better to have too much than too little IMO). I don't know if they will take my advice, but their response was great. They addressed my concern and came up with a solution for my case and I'm truly impressed with the time and care they put into resolving the situation. I definitely recommend this product because, aside from the issue we had, the instructions were clear and the process was easy. But best of all, they offered amazing customer support that's hard to find these days!

This hand cast kit is great, it captures all the fine details of skin, rings, etc. Read the instructions carefully and make sure the water you use is not too cold when mixing both powders or it will take much longer for the cast mould and stone cast material to set...the warmer the water is, the faster both materials harden and set but be careful that the water is not too warm or you will not have enough time after mixing to position your hands properly in the moulding material. Great product for Valentine's Day or Anniversary, my wife and I love our cast. We put our "hand hold" cast into a glass dome display and put it on a power turn table so it slowly turns to see all sides of the hands cast. Keep some dry stone powder and put it aside just in case you need to do a small touch up when you reveil your "hand hold" cast.
