Purchased this futon for a spare bedroom. Was very hesitant to purchase, since no reviews, but the mattress type sounded superior to what I was finding online at this price point, so I took a chance. Everything was packaged well when shipped and the items arrived without incident. The futon went together easily and the thing is very sturdy. There is no wiggle to it at all. The arms are wood and the remainder of the base so black metal which feels durable. Our last futon had thin wooden slats under the seat that the kids broke when standing on. That shouldn't happen with the metal base. The mattress is moderately firm, but comfortable. Great for both sleeping and sitting. the mattress cover is alsoremovable, so it can be washed. Overall, very pleased with the item.

I am furious. The overall futon is decent, very comfortable. We liked how sturdy it was and guests said it was comfy to sleep on. HOWEVER, the cover is said to be removable for easy wash. After transitioning it from our guest room where it was hardly used to our mainroom, I needed a wash. So I unzipped the cover and washed it. When I go to out the cover back on everything is falling apart. The inside of the cover isn't completely together it's just a bunch of fluff stuffed in it, around some springs. Trying to keep it all together while putting the cover back on was impossible and lead to the zipper breaking. A near $600 futon just done after one attempt to wash the cover. We have family coming in tomorrow and have no couch or place for them to sleep. Just don't buy it. It's not worth the money.

Update...after a rough start, I finally received all of the parts required to assemble my Futon. Assembly went fairly well, using the tools provided it took me about 2.5 hours to put it together. It’s a solid futon, worth the price, it’s comfortable and roomy, the mahogany sides are nice and the futon has a solid feel to it. I haven’t opened it up to the sleep position yet, but during assembly I worked the spring frame support and it seemed well aligned and smooth. I took a star off because my initial delivery was missing the mahogany sides and springs. I called Epic and they sent the rest of my order within a couple of days. I’m glad I made the purchase.

I had the boxes arrive three weeks before I moved to a new apartment. I kept the futon in the boxes until I moved and finally opened it up the day after. Day 1: I found that one one of the futon wooden frame railing was snapped off. I Fixed it with a couple clamps and guerrilla glue for attachment, and for cosmetic purposes used a black sharpie to make the joint seam disappear (good trick for dark cherry and mahogany colored wood). Day 3: After assembling, It stayed intact for two more days. I was very happy with it I had a total of 8 people sit on it (no more than two at a time). When the 8th person sat on the futon (weighing in at about 140lbs) the welding at the front center of the couch snapped on central support beam. The beam is in tact but the welding towards the inside is gone which causes the front of the futon to now sag half a foot and the central leg to kick out at a 45 degree angle. Obviously defective, since it a came broken and a single 140lb person snapped a welding joint.

Surprisingly great quality for the price. I use it as my main couch, and the two guests I've had sleep on it said that is was really comfortable as a bed.

I love this futon. Quality is great, just a little bit bigger thatn I expected. I would recommend this to everyone.

The piece itself was nice looking and comfortable. I’ve been using it for two weeks as a fouton bed at night. The frame is bent. It is now junk. I did not put any undue stress on it as it’s just me and I’m of average size. Very dissapointed.

This futon was Christmas gift from a guest who needed us to have a place for him to sleep. It served us well for about 2 years, when things started to fall apart - frame coming detached from arms, and such. Even so, it hung on for one more year before we are now, finally, replacing it. For the price it was a good value and we got great use out of it, it seats 3 to 4 people comfortably, and we laid it down and sat it up frequently. We found one person could lay it down but it worked best putting it back up with two.
