Great customer service. A real person answers the phone.
This is a very wellโmade, dependable product, and the customer service truly sets the company apart. Installation was simple, and the unit has been working flawlessly from the start. Initially, I had the backwash draining into a plastic bucket, but I wanted to connect it to an existing elevated drain pipe a few feet away. I wasnโt sure if that setup might affect the filter, so I called customer service. Nick took the time to listen carefully to my concern and walked me through the solution. He sent the correct size drain line in the exact quantity I needed and recommended adding a check valve for proper flow. Everything worked out perfectly. Itโs rare to find a company that stands behind its product with this level of support. Great product, great company, great service. Highly recommended.

Good Company
It's been a year and three months since purchase. Initially, the autoflush drive unit had an assembly error resulting in a damaged drive gear. I requested a replacement gear from the company and they expeditiously sent me an entire new drive unit. I'm guessing spare parts are not available. But then it worked fine with the new drive unit. The craftsmanship overall is excellent. It's well made, and has been working well since installation. It filters and flushes well and has had no malfunctions since put in operation some fifteen months ago. The bracket with this unit is iffy. It doesn't secure it well and is virtually impossible to install once the unit is plumbed up. I bought their big unit for my kid's house and that's more what you'd expect. If I were to suggest a design improvement, it would be with the ball valve. I would go with a solenoid valve. Why? The ball valve is stiff to turn and that plastic drive gear is being stressed. Also if power were to go out in the middle of a flush, it would stay open and flushing, dumping water until power was restored. Could run the whole well tank dry when there's no power to pump more water. Or run up the meter on city water. If the drive gear were to fail on closing, that too could cause water loss.

Solid Product - USA Tech Support
So there are a few things to know about this unit. I bought the 50 mesh size and installation was easy. If you've done any plumbing at all before this will be easy to install. The water quality from my well fluctuates a bit, a problem im still trying to fix but i bought this filter was to replace a 5 micron spun filter that plugged constantly from iron in the water around 20 ppm. Once installed it worked pretty flawlessly for about 3 weeks then my dissolved iron in my water shot up randomly, which as i mentioned before, happens from time to time and thats when i realized the size 50 mesh was too small. The spin down filter was plugging, seriously, half way through a shower. Like completely plugged, only a cup of water coming out of the spigot every few seconds. The backwash feature works but it just wasn't enough considering the 'chocolate water' that was coming out of my well. The minimum automatic backwash time you can set is once a day and that just wasn't going to do it here. Thats when i contacted tech support at ispring (aka123 filters). Their tech support is fantastic!! First off, i got a real person, IN THE USA, on the phone immediately when i called in. Michele was great to deal with!!! And she offered a solution which was to send me another size (100 mesh) filter insert for it to hopefully help let more of the dissolved iron go through the filter and keep trapping the larger stull and thus alleviate the plugging issue. They even offered it free of charge which i was shocked by. No one does that!! Unfortunately, Michele called me back later in the day to say that the 100 mesh screen was on back-order but in the meantime they would send me an additional 50 mesh screen so i could at least swap them quickly and take my time washing the spare one. The supply chain is what it is right now so i'm not complaining. What matters to me is not the fact that i had some trouble with the filter because of my SUPER high iron water, its that ispring was there to help me with the issue. Customer support by real people that you can call at a company who actually know what the heck they are talking about is, sadly, rare these days so when good customer support happens I want to point that out. Ispring is on their game. kudos to them for actually giving a crap and backing up their product. PS. they did say that when the 100 mesh comes back in stock in October, they'd send that screen along as well. ispring, you earned yourself a diehard customer, not because of sending out an extra free filter screen (which was cool), but because you guys actually seem to care. I'll spend my money with people who give a damn, and i appreciate that you guys are based in the USA!! PPS. No, they didn't pay me to write this. They did ask me to write a review, and i was happy to do it :)

Things you must know about unit and service
Customer service is very good. Dealt with Nick for a replacement unit and he was knowledgable and fast. Things to know about unit. 1. It is very effective in removing contaminants and sediment 50microns and above. 2. It must be cleaned constantly where I am in North Palm Beach, Florida. 3. I set it at 5 days 30 seconds flush and remove housing and spray filter once per month. 4. Automatic valve turning device has a plastic female receiving part that mates to a brass turning key. Plastic is weak and if you let inside of filter unit get dirty plastic female part may fail when turning valve off. 5. Small o-ring goes on bottom between white plastic fitting a brass fitting on bottom of housing. This is not mentioned in documentation??? Also, while there is a spare large o-ring kit does not come with a spare small o-ring or any other seals. 6. Use small amount of silicone lube to lubricate the o-rings. This is not mentioned in the documentation??? 7. Most importantly! โDO NOT OVER TIGHTEN PLASTIC MAIN HOUSING TO BRASS TOP CAP!โ HOUSING WILL DEFORM AND NOT SEAL!!! THIS IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE DOCUMENTATION??? Otherwise this is a good unit and does what it is supposed to do. I trust the warranty documentation I mailed for the new unit guarantees it for another year since instructions are lacking information. Special thanks to Nick!!!

Game Changer!!!
Excellent for removing particles 50 microns and up. The auto flush feature (mine is set to trigger daily, for ninty (90) seconds) and built-in filter scrubber takes the hassle out of full filter maintenance, and reduces the intervals before requiring maintenance. The public water quality in my country (Trinidad and Tobago) is terrible. My previous first stage, five (5) micron sediment filter, requires replacement every three (3) to five (5) days. By adding a spin down sediment filter at the first stage, my five (5) micron sediment filter's lifespan has been extended to roughly two (2) weeks. Now this doesn't sound like much of an improvement, but at $30TTD per sediment filter, changed ever three (3) or so days, and consideration for the time spent monitoring and changing filters, this is a game changer for me. About two (2) weeks in, I needed some help understanding how the built-in filter scrubber mechanism worked. I reached out to support and John was more than willing to help. Six (6) months in, the seal for the reusable filter had stretched a bit from frequent maintenance intervals. John came to the rescue again by sending me a replacement cartridge. Thank you for the excellent after sales support John. I am completely satisfied. I hope iSpring builds a new iteration where the built-in filter scrubber operates automatically when the auto flush is engaged.

Effectiveness TBD
I have been running an iSpring well water filtration system for about 7 years now, after installing it myself. A 50-micron strainer, followed by 20 x 4.5, 5-micron sediment and carbon filter elements, into a water softener. We have lots of iron in the water, (a glass of straight well water will turn brown overnight!). The softener is able to remove the iron to around 3ppm or less using โRust Defenseโ salt. However, a red sludge develops on the first-in-line strainer mesh within a few days, and on the sediment filter, which actually lasts about a year before needing replacement. I have to manually flush the strainer every one or two days to maintain the flowrate, especially if the washing machine has run. I found backflushing, using some appropriately positioned ball valves, works better than just draining the strainer and flowing water over the outside of the mesh. After about 2-3 months, I have to dismantle and clean the now opaque and red bowl and sludge-clogged strainer mesh. . I decided to try the auto-flush strainer to save me some daily work. It has a larger capacity compared with the smaller manual strainer, has some blades which can be manually operated to wipe the mesh of debris, and it can be set to flush and clean the mesh automatically. Iโm hoping it actually can remove the fine iron sludge from the mesh. . I decided to leave the original strainer in-line and add the new auto-flush strainer ahead of it. That made installation actually very easy with just some extended PEX tubing. The installation was very quick, though it was tricky to get the union threads to the old strainer to seal well and allow the strainer to be oriented vertically. The second strainer is now somewhat redundant, being the same 50-micron mesh. Maybe Iโll remove it one day, if all works well. The house flow rate is fine and there's no significant reduction in pressure across the filtration system when running water, per my pressure gauges. . I initially did not connect the blue drain tube and fitting. Itโs pretty uselessโฆ 1) it is way too short. 2) it is way too small a diameter to get a high enough mesh cleaning flow rate. 1 Star lost! โน I tried the manual flushing process using a 5-gallon bucket to catch the water and got a good, fast flow. The mesh was cleaned nicely of the untypical mechanical debris from the well โ a result of turning off the power, no pressure in the accumulator tank, and muck on the bladder being dislodged. I did notice the system pressure (40-60 psi) made a difference to the cleaning flow rate, but both high and low pressures seemed to clean OK. 15 seconds was enough to not overfill the bucket and actually cleaned the mesh well before that cycle finished, even before the countdown started! I did see some fine red deposits in the mesh after several flushes, which have not been cleaned off. . I wanted to find an alternative to the awful blue tubing. However, the supplied plastic fitting through-hole is too small to maintain a high cleaning flow rate. Eventually, I decided to not add the fitting and stick with the bucket, adding a hose to it via a threaded bulkhead connector and barb fitting for an 8ft-long, ยพโ ID hose, which leads to my basement drain. A 30-sec flush works but there some excessive splash back from the bucket. So, Iโm staying with a daily 15-sec flush. It seems to be more than sufficient. . The supplied 120V power brick/adapter has a pretty short, very thin cord (too short for my install) and the little power plug on the end of the wire inserts at the back and bottom of the motor unit, making it susceptible to getting wet from the bucket splash back. So, itโs ideal that you can use 3 AAA batteries to power this unit. Iโm not sure how long theyโll last. Iโll find out and let you know! My impression is that the motor unit, and its power adapter, look and feel cheap and typically Chinese. Maybe an off-the-shelf unit iSpring found to operate the valve? It certainly doesnโt match the rest of the strainer assembly, which is very robust and high quality. iSpring supplies a knob that can be used in place of the motor unit. Handy should that fail. . Note that there are no included water fittings. There are empty apertures in the boxโs foam insert but the fittings are no longer supplied. A small roll of PTFE tape is still included though! It looks like iSpring reduced cost by removing the fittings and adding a crappy tube assembly. โน . I have yet to decide if this was a worthwhile upgrade. Only time will tell. Iโll be updating this review with my future observations and conclusion. Itโs certainly not cheap at $200, versus only $54 for the manual strainer.

Works great - Easy to install - Clean - and Use - 50 Micron
A Great pre-filter. I installed this when I moved into my new house with a Well system. The Well is rather old and while it is free of any bacteria or other nasties the water has a bunch of clay sediment in it. I have only basic plumbing knowledge soldered a pipe or two, fixed some leaks with shark bite connectors, and installed a sink or two and this was very easy if you plan out your install. There are many diagrams and recommendations online for diy, just make sure to install shut off valve before and after the filters as well as a bypass. I put this ahead of an I spring 3 (Sediment, Carbon, Heavy metal )stage 20 " sediment filter, followed by a UV light to kill anything left behind and I didn't want to have to replace these filters all the time (thus the pre-filter) I live on my own so my water usage is lower than most families, but with this filter for instance I average only need to replace my sediment filter every 1.5 years, rather than the usual 6 months. My carbon filter is also still is in almost new condition when I checked at nearly 2 years. Unfortunately, I don't have a Gallon count, so I am unsure of the exact usage. The only thing I would probably do differently if I had to set this up all over would likely be to is to order the 100 micron filter rather than the 50. I have pretty sediment filled water, so the filter can clog up very fast with the smaller size. I should let the rest of my filters do more work as intended as currently the pre filter can clog up faster than the automatic flush can clean it at times (flushes daily for 15 seconds). This can temporarily drop my water pressure significantly until I manually flush it, or clean the filter myself. Also, if your water is high in clay type sediment, it doesn't always flush out properly from the filter, so you end up having to manually clean out the filter on a monthly basis to keep your water pressure up. The built-in scraper is mostly useless as well unless you have large chunks of sediment as there is too large of a gap between it and the filter.

Great Product!
Great product and great customer service. I was having quite a bit of clogging and I spoke with JOHN and customer support. They sent me a spare filter and also gave me instructions how to maintain and service them on a regular basis. I changed the rinse time to about 90 seconds and it really improves the filters ability to manage the course sediment. Itโs a great product.

Excellent product and even better customer service!
After years of replacing disposable filter cartridges every week and sometimes more often, we finally decided to try one of these spin down flushable filters. We were very impressed with the quality of the iSpring filter... straightforward installation and operation, and it works extremely well. A little too well in our case... we should have gone with the larger micron cartridge as it plugged up several times daily because of all the debris in our water supply. But we contacted customer service (US based, big thumbs up) and Julius was fantastic... they sent out the 100 micron replacement, even shipped free of charge to Canada. The larger micron cartridge works so much better for us. With the automatic flush set to once per day we have no more plugging. However, if you have a lot of debris or sediment I recommend going with the larger WSP-ARJ model which come with up to a 200 or even 500 micron cartridge. Spring and fall are worse times with our artesian well and we may need to do that yet. I wish we would have contacted iSpring beforehand and explained what we required, as I'm sure they would have advised us what was best. I must say there are not too many companies that impress me these days but this is definitely one of them. We may be expanding our water filtration system in the future and will not hesitate to buy from iSpring again, and of course highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality product and service to back it up.

Quality and innovative water filter
The catchment area for our private water supply filters through extensive peat hillsides and results in high amounts of particulates and quite strong tannin colouration. The high particulate levels mean that we have to change our 30 micron and 5 micron disposable every month or so. This is rather costly. So we decided to try adding a 50 micron iSpring spin down filter to "protect" the next stage filters from getting clogged too quickly. We bought the iSpring WSP50ARB Spin Down Sediment Water Filter in Nov 22 and it has now been operational for a few weeks. Pros: Excellent quality, great innovation, superb customer service (Canada to Scotland). Very easy to install (although NPT threaded connections aren't quite as common in the UK). The digital control unit is very straightforward to set-up, and the automatic spin down operation easily cleans the sediment that is collected by the filter. It is a bit too soon to judge how well it protects the next stage of filtering. But, nonetheless, I would wholeheartedly recommend it! Cons: absolutely none. Please note: the iSpring WSP50ARB Spin Down Sediment Water Filter is not designed to remove tannin colouration from water supplies. I have to employ an additional filtration stage to need this requirement.

Very well made..
Have yet to fit it but looks bloody excellent and well made. Nothing like this, with auto-flush, for this price. You will need to get an adaptor for UK use ( NPT to BSP thread) and I'd highly recommend Pipe Fittings Direct at about a ยฃ5 each. Other places will try and rip you off for ยฃ30+ !!
