Absolutely Amazing! First electric razor for me.
I recently purchased the Panasonic Arc 5 Electric Razor, and I am thoroughly impressed. Historically, I haven’t been an electric razor user, but this product has completely changed my perspective. If you’ve avoided electric razors due to concerns about skin irritation or the inability to achieve a close shave comparable to a traditional razor, the Arc 5 is worth reconsidering—it truly delivers the best of both worlds. The product is exceptionally well-made, with a sleek design and solid build quality. The model I selected included a cleaning unit, which not only enhances convenience but also ensures the razor remains in optimal condition. From the moment I unboxed it, the craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident. After two or three uses, I was genuinely impressed by the closeness of the shave and the lack of irritation—a common issue I’ve experienced with other electric razors. Over the past week, I’ve come to appreciate the unique experience this razor offers. Unlike traditional wet shaving, which is often a hurried task in the midst of a busy morning routine, using the Panasonic Arc 5 feels like an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the process. This razor transforms shaving from a mundane chore into a more mindful and enjoyable activity. I’ve found myself sitting down, watching TV, and taking my time to shave thoroughly. The electric shaving process encourages multiple passes over the face, allowing for a closer, smoother shave that feels effortless. That said, it’s also efficient for those moments when time is limited. Without the need for water or a mirror, you can achieve a quick, polished shave in just a few minutes. Simply listen for the razor’s motor to stop clipping hair, and you’ll know you’re done. To maximize the razor’s performance, I recommend using Lectric Shave pre-electric shave lotion beforehand and Level 3 aftershave to refresh and protect your skin post-shave. These additions made a noticeable difference in both comfort and results. This product truly stands out. The closeness of the shave rivals that of a traditional razor, and after multiple passes, the result is remarkably smooth—akin to a baby-soft finish. It has quickly become a part of my daily routine, offering both convenience and a satisfying sense of self-care. If you’ve been hesitant to try an electric razor or have had negative experiences in the past, the Panasonic Arc 5 is worth serious consideration. With a bit of time and patience, it delivers exceptional results. I wholeheartedly give it five stars and strongly recommend it.

My favorite electric so far- and I've tried many
I keep trying different shaving methods always hoping to find the perfect one. This may be the best electric option yet. I have tried the then-best from Norelco a few years back. A Braun S9 which is supposed to be the best of the best. A cheaper Norelco, and this one. The high-zoot Norelco just didn't work well for me at all. The more conventional cheaper Norelco is surprisingly good, OK for closeness, great for comfort, and quite fast. The Braun will in fact give me the close shave the reviews say if I go over and over and over and over and OVER my face. This Panasonic shaves as well as the Braun but gives me a smooth shave much faster. The special cleaning speed and the power button lock are very useful, but not obvious. You have to read the manual to find them. There is some minor skin irritation for me. I usually get that with a new razor and I insist on a shave that is closer than I really need, so keep those factors in mind. I got the one without the cleaning stand. The Braun I have has a cleaning stand and I find that it is just irritating. I suspect that with cleaning (the Panasonic has a special cleaning "vibration" mode that is supposed to prevent splashing so much) using hand soap as recommended one really doesn't need a cleaning stand for this razor, so I suggest that if you're on the line trying to decide whether you want that just save your money. Use a brush, hand soap and water, and then oil the blades. Panasonic includes a bottle of oil to let you do that, even. Pretty nice razor! I don't give it five stars because it is still not as quick as a multi-blade wet razor AFTER you get your face all washed and soaped and lathered up. Also not quite as close as a better wet razor. But much more convenient and very nice. Especially nice for travel 'cause you don't have to explain to the TSA that no, that mystery compound in the plastic cylinder is SHAVING SOAP. Sheesh. Those guys.

Unbelievably good!!!!! Wow!!! The best!
This shaver is incredible. I have never had a closer shave in my entire life!!! It works better than anything I’ve ever tried in my entire life. I am getting a closer shave than I usually did when using shaving cream and a manual razor. I’m shocked. I’m surprised the reviews aren’t higher on Amazon. Everywhere else says the Panasonic Arc 5 is one of the very best. I have a sensitive face and this is the first product I’ve used that gave me NO skin irritation. The fact that it shaves this closely with no irritation is mind blowing. It is really easy to clean. Follow the manual. The cleaning station is not worth the additional cost. But if you want the cleaning station you have to get it at the same time as the shaver. You can’t add a cleaning station later. But I don’t see a need. There are many variations of the Arc 5 and it is confusing. There isn’t a big difference between the different generations. This one is slightly newer than the the original but the difference is minimal. If you’re looking for a high-end shaver, this is the one to get. Don’t overpay for a European brand. Panasonic rocks at shaving.

Replacement Panasonic Shaver (Lighter and Smaller)
Its definitely lighter and smaller than my previous model. The materials are different than before. Gives you a close shave, nice and clean. It took about 30 minutes to charge to 100%. I'll let you know later how long the battery lasts and how well it performs. I knew there was a cheaper promotion, but it seems that lot was out of stock for the same product minus the cleaner. Definitely good for sensitive skin. No skin rash from cutting too close.

I’ve wasted 12 years of buying razors..
I’ll preface this by saying I purchased this today and have only used it once. I’ll update this along at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year of usage. I have a bald head and prefer my face shaved. I’ve been shaving my head for the past 12 years, and my face for almost 15 years (in my earth 30’s). I have an awful, thick cul-de-sac natural hair growth pattern, and hate the way my head looks after about 3 days of razor shaving my head, but it is honesty such a PITA that I usually only do it every Sunday morning, but by Sunday I’m looking pretty rough. I prefer my face shaven, but grow tired of the intense razor burn and bumps I always get on my chin and neck. So the only way to minimize the rash is to use a super fresh, sharp razor, but shaving my face and my head multiple times a week with only 1-2 uses per blade has really been racking up some serious coin over the years. So I usually just run the Clippers with no guard over my face and settle for some minor stubble. After watching some YouTube channels trying to find some videos on the best, easiest, cheaper way to razor shave my head, I found a video discussing how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shaves his head, and I was shocked to see him holding an electric shaver (not this, but the Braun Series 9 Pro). I knew nothing about electric shavers whatsoever. I’ve never even personally met a man that has experience with them, so I spent about a week researching them. After watching a dozen or so hours worth of shaver reviews on YouTube, it pretty much came down to this shaver, the Panasonic Arc5 and the Braun Series 9 Pro. Multiple videos corroborated each other by saying the Arc 5 gets a much closer shave, but the Braun is way more forgiving for a newbie. My cul-de-sac flashed before my eyes and I knew I needed the closest shave possible to fend off this thick horseshoe on my scalp. I received this model today, charged it for about an hour, and nervously stuck it to my face. Was it going to pull? Was it going to pinch? How could this thing actually cut the hair when you can’t see or feel any sharp edges? I did one there-and-back pass over my cheek and all the hair was gone. Just like magic. I quickly did my whole face and head and I’m absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the simplicity and effectiveness of this device. I did my whole head and face in about 10 minutes, but the hair was pretty thick on both regions, and I was going slow as I built confidence with it. I imagine I could do my head and face every other day in prob 5 mins or less. There are spots that I guess I pressed harder on then others, and those spots are completely smooth with no stubble felt whatsoever. I would say if on a scale of 1-10 and ten is sharp, long stubble and a razor shave is a 0, this shaver left my head and face at about a 0.5-1.0. It’s pure magic. The hair gets trapped inside and isn’t all over me or the sink. When I’m done I just pop the top off and rinse it out. I can’t believe I went my whole life without using an electric foil shaver. I immediately started texting all of my bald friends to recommend them throw away their razors and get them one of these. I would say I’m pretty hard to impress—I’ve been using Amazon for close to a decade with dozens of items ordered a month and I’ve only left a handful of reviews. This product warrants the praise and is WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Not Impressed
I really wanted to love this shaver, but am unfortunately a little disappointed in it. I have a cheap Remington that lasted twelve years, and still works. The charger wires have become frayed, and rather than look for a replacement charger, I decided to look into what new shavers are available. I wish I had just picked up a replacement charger. I read a couple of articles that spoke very highly of this Panasonic shaver, so I put it on my radar. When it dropped $50 as a pre-Black Friday "deal", I decided the price was low enough to take a chance on it. At $150, I was not willing to purchase it. My trusty Remington shaver was about $30 when I purchased it way back when. I will say that I think this shaver is a little better than my 12-year-old Remington, but not by much. The trimmer on this one is noticeably worse, and only works well in one direction. This shaver can not be used while it is plugged in, which is a huge minus in my opinion. Very few brands offer this feature, making the customer need to replace the item when the battery goes bad. Speaking of the battery, this shaver's battery does not last that long. It says it can get 3 weeks of shaves from a full charge. This means shaving every two days, maybe 4 minutes per shave. In my experience, mine would not come close to this. I haven't done a test where I just let the shaver keep running (which wouldn't be a very good test, since it wouldn't involve cutting any facial hair), and I also don't want to run the battery down to zero. However, I have been paying attention to how much the indicator drops when I shave. I think I take about 6-7 minutes to shave with an electric shaver, because I always need to go over portions of my face that don't get cut well. The indicator almost always drops a full segment (20%) each time that I shave. My twelve year old Remington's original battery still gets close to this amount of time all these years later. This Panasonic shaver does shave the closest of any electric shaver that I have used, but it's only a little closer than the Remington. I still have to go over areas of my face multiple times, and sometimes I just can't get it to cut a hair that my Remington never had issues with. It's a pretty comfortable shave most of the time, but the blades have gotten caught on a hair 3 times in my 5 weeks of using it. It's a good shaver, but not a big enough improvement over my cheap Remington to warrant paying so much.

Great shave with less irritation
I have tried several electric razors in the past and never felt like I got a decent shave. I have been going back and forth with different reviews looking at this Arc 5 and the Braun Series 9 Pro. I don't shave often as I get irritation from the razor, maybe twice a week. I decided to get this one as it was on sale for Black Friday at $129. It says that it'll take 3-4 weeks for you beard to adjust to the razor, but from the first shave it was great. It looked just as good as a razor shave, except around the neck area. I'm sure I could have gone over it a few more times but was trying to avoid irritating my skin. I tested both wet and dry shaving. I actually prefer the dry shave. The razor is easy to clean and feels solid. I've only shaved twice but so far, very happy with it. Clean shave, no irritation, and product seems to be high quality. If I have any regrets in the future, I'll update my post.
