Whiter and brighter than Silverstar Ultra
I installed these bulbs side by side with brand new Silverstar Ultras and there is no comparison. Do note however, it's really not a fair comparison as these bulbs are 100 watt and not DOT compliant. That being said, these bulbs give their white appearance by using a coating on the bulbs to bring out the nice bright xenon white light you're probably looking for. Usually, this filter will make a legal bulb whiter, but also less bright because of the light the coating filters out. By contrast, these high wattage bulbs are xenon white and are just as bright as an uncoated high performance DOT legal bulbs because the extra wattage makes up for the lost brightness of the coating. The brightness seems reasonable enough that it shouldn't draw the attention of any law enforcement. I didn't have anyone flash me during the week or so that I used them. Ultimately, I ended up taking them out because I couldn't get Hella to respond to my inquires about whether or not these could be used without upgraded wiring (they are supposedly drawing twice the wattage of a legal bulb, after all). I'm also concerned about what affect the extra heat might have for my headlamp housing. I'll miss these bulbs - they are the best looking non-xenon bulbs I've seen and the price just makes them that much sweeter. If I can ever confirm their safety in my vehicle, these will no doubt be the only bulb I'll ever buy.

I knew it was to good to be true.
Well these lights were nice however by me and my own negligence I ended up frying my headlight retainer. Took me a little bit to realize why. But when I read the bottom of the plastic retainer it said 50 watt Max and these lights were 100 Watts so it was just too much power for those retainers to hold. No damage to the headlight replace retainers lights worked as usual. But I like to clarity a few flights and they seem like they were going to last a long time but then I never got full use out of them due to the fact I didn't realize the specifications for the car

Great Deal
These bulbs look great. They produce a light blue light, not the weird blue you see from cheap competitors. I am using them on a 2007 Mercedes. Lot of people told me it would screw up the electrical system because of going from 55W per bulb to 100W. Had them in for couple of weeks and so far no apparent issues or visible changes to the wires, leads, socket or even the headlight housing. I was a loyal user of Silverstar bulbs, but replacing those things had become a ritual. Hopefully these will last a little longer. Don't let anyone tell you any different, they are noticeably brighter, at least using Mercedes headlamp housing. Just to compare the Silverstar to the new Hellas and not to look foolish going down the road, I only put one Hella in and had some friends check it out. Hands down the said the 100W Hella bulb look brighter and just cooler.

Perfect color but could be brighter.
Don't let the elevated wattage (100) persuade you into thinking that they will be any brighter than a standard 55-watt bulb. If anything, the additional wattage is heat, certainly not brightness. The bulbs are adequately bright but just not as bright as the regular halogens I've used in the past. I attribute the somewhat (and it's minor) diminished brightness to the blue coating. Speaking of the blue coating, I was worried that they would give off that cheesy, UV bug zapper look. Nope. The color of the light is exactly what I was hoping for: very white with just a tiny hint of cool color temp--very LED-like. When turned off, the blue coating reflects within the headlight assembly and looks unique in a pleasing way. I like the bulbs a lot, but not totally sure I'll replace with the same in the future--I might look for brighter alternatives.

Half the price of Sylvania....but
1st I want to say that I marked 4 stars under longevity Because I simply don't know yet I've only been using these 2 weeks. Don't buy if you live on a dirt road they will burn out also don't buy them if you have plastic clips because the 100 W will melt the plugs Secondly , they are extremely bright and great for nighttime driving and DRL during the day....hence 10 stars. 3rd I put a one star under easy to install because I have a 2020 Chevrolet Impala premiere and its just a nightmare To get to the point of replacement replacing Bob's in this car.... it Does not reflect easy installment on other vehicles and model years. I will be updating this as far as how long they last vs Sylvania because Sylvania can blow just by driving down a dirt road 3 times, and I'm sick of it.

Lower quality then years ago
I’ve ordered Hella Optilux bulbs before years ago for my audi and was happy with them , they were nice and bright. With this set I got I just don’t feel like they’re as bright as they used to be . Headlights is new , no hazing no oxidation so I know that isn’t the issue . Yes the color output it has does look white but the reach and brightness isn’t as great . Might have to opt in HID upgrade instead

By far the best halogen bulbs I have ever used and the closest thing to HIDs
I installed these on my 2006 Jetta after years of messing with HID kits that used ridiculous adapters and had constantly failing ballasts. I thought I would never have a bulb that both offered crystal white light and visibility that is close to an HID conversion. After stumbling on these bulbs I figured I'd give it a shot. Sure they are higher wattage, but I was willing to take the risk of damaging my headlamps in order to have better visibility and a more modern look for my car. I installed these bulbs and the difference was incredible. Even in a well lit shop I could see my headlights on the wall from 30 feet away. At night it's nearly as bright to the 6k HIDs I used to run.. Some important notes: -Never touch the bulb glass with your bare hands, it will drastically reduce the life of the bulb. I recommend using rubber gloves. -Your headlamp fixture will get hotter, so I would imagine that some headlamps, especially cheap chinese made ebay ones, could possibly melt or become damaged. Definitely use at your own risk, I will update this review if any damage occurs to my headlamps. It is also interesting to note that the company that makes these bulbs, Hella, also manufactures my headlamp fixtures as well as most, if not all, of the fixtures in Volkswagens and Audis. That was partially my reasoning for thinking these bulbs' higher temps and current draw wouldn't be a problem in my vehicle. So far so good. If anyone has any questions let me know. I will continue to update this review in the future. UPDATE: It's been well over a year and my headlamps are still working great with no signs of damage. Neither of the bulbs have blown either.

Brighter than stock
Bought these for a 2023 VW Amarok pickup I own overseas. They are definitely brighter than OEM 60W but not as bright as LED. Tried to change to LED but caused a warning light to come on the dash so LEDs were removed.

Love these lights!
They are not LED bright and white but for halogens, they are white enough and work great. My '16 passat for some reason has an adapter for its low beams, so I could not use traditional wire connect that leds use, so I had to use these, BUT the high beams use traditional wires and no adapters... Stupid. Great white halogen lights! I just hope they least more than a year.

Lasted 10 months. I expected these bulbs to last longer than that.
Nice light, but only lasted 10 months. I expected these bulbs to last longer than 10 months. It seemed like a good deal but not if I have to replace them yearly.
