Nice trailer hitch, easy no drill install.
A perfect fit on 2010 Subaru Outback. Pretty easy to install, have to remove bumper cover and bumper so takes a few minutes. No drilling or adjustments to body. Have to cut out a notch in bumper cover. I'm fine with that as it means the hitch isn't sitting too low. If they shortened the drop another 3/4 inch would be fine as it would preserve more of the height clearance. The welds looked real good so shouldhold up well. My only issue was packaging. It comes wrapped pretty heavy but how far it traveled to get to me it had worn through it in spots. No real damage but the paint took some hits.

Excellent hitch and super easy to install.
Been an awesome fit on my 2012 outback. Had it on for almost 5 months now and no sign of rust or wear whatsoever. Really no hardware needed for this as it's designed to use the existing mounting bolts and nuts that hold on your bumper. No adjustments had to be made just pop off the bumper put this up and put the bumper back on over it with the nuts your car comes with. No need for adjustment or alignment and it has been holding up a swinging tire hitch no problem. If you install it yourself just be prepared for that hold your breath moment as you peel the plastic bumper off and hope none of the clips break! Otherwise crazy easy to install. My only recommendation is that the template to cut out a small hole on the bumper underneath so the hitch can fit is that the template is too small and I ended up taking about an inch and a half extra off for depth for a more perfect fit

Sturdy and well made.
This was fairly easy to install. Taking the bumper off was very easy. A couple of suggestions to make it easier if you're installing yourself: 1. Use blue painters tape or similar just above where the bumper meets the metal body panel on each side. When you goto place the bumper back on the car, there's a possibility that the ends of the bumper may scratch the clear coat. Remove the tape once the bumpers properly attached. 2. When removing the eight 10mm x 1.25 nuts from the studs, spray them with penetrant (ie: pb blaster). Believe it or not, this was the most difficult part of the installation. Mine were pretty rusted. I used a cheater bar (handle from my jack) for extra leverage. Keep spraying the nuts with with penetrant and work them back and forth by loosening and tightening. You don't want to break those studs!!!! I used a tap to chase the nuts once they came off, which made installation easier. The nuts are torqued to 42lbs. 3. The directions said to make a 4" x 4-1/2" cut in the bumper to accommodate the hitch. The 4-1/2" depth was too short on my install; I wasn't able to get the bumper attached on both sides of the car. I cut 5-1/4" depth and that got me the clearance to secure the bumper. The 4" width was good and didn't need to be widened. Don't usually write reviews. This hitch seems pretty well made. The welds appear strong and the entire piece is powder coated. Hopefully it'll last the life of the car. Installed on a 2012 outback 4 cylinder.

High quality item but paint damaged during shipping
High quality and easy to install after watching YouTube video from etrailer. The packaging was substandard however, and the paint was completely scuffed off to bare metal on the end of the hitch receiver from being dropped during shipping. A quick spray with a can of black spray paint I had laying around has resolved the problem for now. Not sure how well my paint will hold up over time. Yes, it’s just cosmetic, but I also want it to look nice. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Easy to install - heavy duty.
This is a very high -quality hitch receiver, and it was VERY easy to install. I compared it to other hitch receivers, and this appeared to be the most straight-forward installation. The appearance was correct - easy to install. The included instructions were complete and clear. I put it on my daughter's Subaru Outback - not a curse word was uttered. All you need are "normal" hand tools.

Good quality and fir in my car
It fit very well in my outback 2018. I watched the youtube instructions and installation went perfect. The hitch seems solid cosntruction and good quality. Few suggestions for DYIs: lube the nuts with penetrating oil to easy the removal; also the width of the whole in the bumper should be 4.75 inch (rather that 4.5 inch included in instructions).

Perfect fit on 2014 Outback 3.6R
This fit perfect on my 2014 Outback 3.6R. I added tabs that the factory 1-1/4 receiver had to make it a little stronger is all. Have towed my 2000lb teardrop trailer 1500 miles round trip and it tows great! She will def squat your car so a lift or lighter tongue weight would be advised. Ours has a 2" lift so not a problem.

Solid, well manufactured hitch!!
I liked the quality and fit of this trailer hitch. Have installed 3 different hitches in different vehicles, and this is by far the most solid. Very nervous about taking the back end of the car. It looked like a wreck, but from then on installation was straightforward and went together quickly. Looks very custom fit and professional!! Very happy with the result!!

Good Quality Hitch
The hitch was fairly easy to install on a 2017 Outback. Hardest job was getting all the plastic push pins out of the rear bumper cover. You just have to take your time. Hitch bolted on with no hassles. You need a long extension to reach the nuts on the Bumper.

Solid piece of metal
Heavy piece of solid metal and strong looking welds. Installation was simple - just go to www.etrailer.com and search for this hitch, they have a video guide for installation. I wanted this type of hitch, because I didn't want to drill holes to my car that are required for most other hitches installation. I have a 2-bike carrier installed and it is great, I can even open rear door. Thanks to no-rattle hitch pin on the carrier (i.e. bolt) it is perfectly stable. The only thing - the bike carrier has 1.25 inch tongue, so I had to get a adapter. I searched a lot and didn't like all the extension adapters that add length, I just wanted a sleeve. In the end I ordered a spare from canadian Thule, part no. 8537489 that arrived quickly and does the job perfectly.
