Works great, good picture and the LEDs are very bright as well
Pretty good camera! I installed it myself on my 98' Toyota Camry. The photos you see there are me tube shrink soldering the reverse trigger wire from the Video Wire to the Reverse Input wire (purple on my radio's harness). I mounted it above the car's emblems. I sealed the camera cable with some Black RTV silicone adhesive. The instructions are NOT great for installation. Also, a TIP is if you want to trigger the camera when put the car in reverse you got to make of course make the same connection as I did in my photos. But, also with the power wire it the camera system brings you have to take the black and ground it to the harnesses ground wire (mine was white with a black line) and then take the red wire from the power wire and along with the Video Wire's red wire mate them TOGETHER to the reverse power wire (which is also red) on the car's reverse harness connector. This part was confusing for me because the power wire this system brings also comes with its own shorter thinner red wire and I didn't know where it went. But it's NOT needed for the installation. So, instead you just tape it away and proceed with the Video Wire's red thinner wire instead.

Lights stay on all the time when powered by your header unit
[UPDATED REVIEW 3/23/2020] I am changing my rating for this camera to 5 stars because it clearly does need the lights that I said I drilled out in my earlier review. I don't know how they've done it, but this camera does an excellent job gathering ambient light to show your surroundings while backing up. It is far superior to the 8 year old camera that I had to replace. Furthermore, the vendor "cold" contacted me to let me know that they have seen the reviews from those of us who are disappointed over the inability to turn the lights off. And they stated that a new version of the camera will be coming out soon with a brown wire that can be cut to disable the lights. I am leaving my original review below just so folks who are interested can read how disable the lights with a drill. Again though, I now believe this to be a superior camera, and I am looking forward to seeing the new one with brown wire for disabling the lights. Excellent customer service as well! [Original review] As several others have noted, when you power this camera by wiring it directly to your header unit, the LED lights will turn on (and stay on) when the car is running. Apparently, it is an all or nothing deal. When the camera has power, the lights also have power. This is less then ideal for those of us who want to access the camera while driving. For example, I like to turn on the camera when I am towing my trailer to make sure everything is okay and nothing is flapping around or loose. The only way to not have the lights on all the time seems to be by "piggy-backing" the power from the back up lights. But then this would mean that I would also not be able to view the camera except for when I am backing the car up. I'm guessing what I really need is a product that uses separate power sources for both the LED lights and the camera. Maybe the LED lights could separately be wired to the backup lights while the camera gets its power from the header unit? I'm not sure if anyone actually makes a camera with lights that are powered by a separate source, but it seems there might be a market for that based on some of the other reviews I have read here. Anyway, I just followed the advice of another reviewer and I drilled out the 4 corner LEDs and sealed them shut with water proof Gorilla glue. Other then that, the picture from this camera is pretty good. I just wish I could have had the backup lights while only backing up.

Good picture for the price
Works great. I'm using this one for hitching up the goose neck trailer. Between the crew cab and the in bed tool box I can't see the goose neck ball from the drivers seat. I can get close backing up blind but usually end up getting in and out of the truck multiple times before I get it right. My rear view mirror has two video inputs. I have the bumper mounted camera connected to the main input and the goose neck camera connected to a switch in the overhead console and the secondary video input. My only complaint with these types of cameras are the molded on plugs. I had to drill 1/2" holes to feed the molded plugs through the toolbox and the pickup bed. The I'm left with a tiny wire in a giant hole. As visible from the side view shot the camera does stick out past the edge of the toolbox. I'm guessing the next time I get hay I'll forget the camera is there and smash it with a 105lb bale. If that happens I'll replace it with a tailgate camera that recesses in better. After all, I already have a 1/2" hole drilled.

Highly recomended!
I have purchased and installed three of these on my vehicles, and each one has performed exceptionally well. The picture quality is excellent—clear and vibrant—and the built-in light is bright and reliable. The overall build quality is impressive. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a dependable solution.

Custom install, no drilled holes, camera is moveable
The camera works great. My application is different from most in that I wanted it mounted higher so that I could see over bikes on my bike rack. A camera mounted near the license plate would be blocked when bikes are loaded. I didn't want to drill a hole so I mounted the included bracket to a small black right angle bracket (from a hardware store), that I then mounted to a car roof magnet (purchased here on Amazon). I ran the wires through a gap in the minivan rear window hatch, so no holes were drilled and the camera can be moved if needed. I connected the reverse trigger wire to my backup light wire near the rear left taillight assembly. The included blue snap lock wire tap was too large for my backup light wire, so I used Posi-Tap connectors instead (purchased on Amazon). In the photos, I show them side-by-side. The wire easily pulled out of the blue connector. They fit snugly in the black Posi-Taps. If your backup light wire is thicker, the included blue tap may work for you. I installed the camera with the 'always-on' power option so I can view the video anytime while driving (not just while in reverse). I'm not using the on screen guides (cut the green wire) or the LED lights (cut the brown/orange wire). Instructions say there is a brown wire (my camera had an orange wire, not a brown one). Because I routed the camera wire a longer distance (to the side of the minivan window) than a standard install near the license plate. I needed to extend the wires. So I purchased a waterproof junction box (on Amazon) and connected the wires to the extensions inside that box. That's the small black box with green tips seen in the photo. That is NOT included or needed with a standard install. So far, I'm happy with the video quality.

Great quality camera
The first camera I ordered was having an issue. The leds would light up when I put the truck in reverse but no image. I contacted the company and they send me a whole new order next day. I will continue to shop with this company, in this day and age, companies have terrible customer service. Not this one!! They back their product! The picture quality is amazing! Better than my factory 2017 Chevy 1500 and better than my factory 2019 dodge 2500 camera. It’s super easy to install. Plug the yellow plug in the back of your radio(CIN-camera in) , hook up the red wire to your reverse signal wire (purple/white line) on the back of your radio. Run cable to the camera plug in the yellow male plug to yellow female camera wire. Plug black plug in, run the red wire on your black plug to your hot(red wire) on your tail light and the back wire to a self tapper, or bolt to the frame of the vehicle (ground). Both yellow and black plugs have a red wire coming off of them at the camera side (connect them). If you don’t want the guide lines. Cut the green wire.

Short cables
Couldn't install this on my 04 4runner without extending the power cables and getting the video wire into the gasket was a nightmare (which yeah i guess is my vehicles problem), after successfully connecting the cam to the power/video cable then running the power to the light area only to find out its not long enough, i know i can extend it but i don't feel i should have to when they can just provide more length that people can cut off it not needed.. It ended with me cutting the cables and ripping it out and throwing it away, i wish i had the willpower to return the cut up garbage and hope for a refund. The instructions are basically useless, no idea if i needed the red cables to connect somewhere that come off the video/power wire that connects to the camera. Watching 3-4 videos and 1 specifically how the wiring works didn't seem possible for my car, and in the videos its not even mentioned what the wires connect to, except some guy doing it in his house instead of a vehicle! Seems like a great camera and I'm sure more vehicle savvy people can figure it out on my model and extend the wires but i just wanted to plug and play.

It's perfect.. Except one thing...
This camera is crystal clear and works great. There's one huge problem. The infra red lights stay on when your vehicle key is on. Meaning, these incredibly bright lights are super bright even in the sunlight of daytime and stay on ALL THE TIME. They should only come in in reverse! These lights are so bright at night, they'll likely lend you a ticket or a warning at minimum. They're football stadium bright. I'm not kidding. So, to avoid looking like an idiot with a back up camera that doesn't work right, we used a paint pen to cover the lights (they're the yellow strips around the camera lens) and all is good. Bright reverse lights on any vehicle works fine for night time on my truck. They really need to fix this. I'm sure it's an easy fix and I feel like they made a mistake and that's why it's so cheaply priced. The lights should NOT stay on. I'll change this to 5 stars if they send me one that works properly. Be aware before you purchase. Huge problem day or night because they're so so bright and again they stay on any time your vehicle is running or key in the on position.
