These DVDs are more reliable and are better quality than the brand name DVDs and they cost less. (3) Three out of 100 disks failed (or 3%) but 97% of the disks worked great with NO problems in the DVD Recorder/Player. I previously used brand name disks and their failure rate was anywhere from 10-15% (too much wasted money). I use these disks to record security camera video and the quality of the video is excellent. I do not understand why the company didn't spend a few more cents to put the disks on a spindle but you can make your own spindle out of some household items and some glue. I give these disks 5 stars because 97% of the disks work fine. I have yet to find a brand where 100% of the disks work but 97% is darn close and good enough for me - VERY RELIABLE DVD DISK!!!

I use the Smart Buy DVD's for work in progress and short-term backups only. I do not use them for archival purposes within the archive. I have just started to use them, so my review is limited in time. They burn fine and work well for that use so far. I have not tested them for archival stability comparing them to big name DVD's as of yet. I will update review if anything changes. Photo shows 25 Smart Buy DVDs compared to 25 Verbatim DVD's to show the difference in thickness. The Smart Buy DVD's are made in Vietnam. I have also been using Smart Buy Blu-ray 25 GB discs for the same purposes within the archive for a couple of years. They work fine but are not as archival as Verbatim Blu-ray or M-Disc. Great value fast shipping

I bought these to archive 6 years of vacation photos and video. As a professional photographer my still images included both JPG and RAW and the video files as MTS. I used CD Burner XP in a Windows 10 Pro environment for all of the copying. The archiving was a project ran as time allowed while I worked. I took almost 2 weeks to complete. In the end 4 blank DVDs remained. Of the 96 used there was not ONE bad one! Great value. Excellent quality. Highly recommended

I use the items for projects at the church I attend and also for the church school.

I rarely have a bad disc with this brand. However, like other reviewers have written, this doesn't come with a spindle.

Have ordered many packs of blank DVDs from Amazon over the years, seeking the best value for the price. These DVDs are the first I've ever used that fail to record about 30% of the time. I don't know why the DVDs fail, but I do positively know they are thinner than other DVDs. Using a micrometer, I compared the thickness of the Smart Buy DVD (.041) compared to another discount brand of DVD (.0466-.0467). You wouldn't think that much of a difference would have any effect on quality - but it probably does. I noticed the difference in the DVDs as soon as I opened them, and prepared one for recording. And the bottom line is - if the DVDs don't work - it doesn't matter how cheaply they're priced.
