Better than chrome HS prong collar
We first bought our dog the chrome Herm Sprenger 3mm prong collar. However, after 5 weeks, the metal started splintering on the d ring to a very sharp point and I almost cut my finger. We were just passed our 30 day return policy so I contacted HS directly. They permitted the return through Amazon and Amazon approved with the exception of a restocking fee. We decided to buy the black stainless steel HS which we originally wanted anyhow. For our gray dog, it doesn't stand out as much, looks a lot cleaner, and coordinates with our stacked collars (prong, ecollar when in use, & herm sprenger clicklock DogLine biothane collar). She wore this black HS prong for 3 weeks at Board and train in addition to 1.5 weeks at home. So far, no issues at all. We have no issue with dexterity so placing on and removing is easy for us. We removed one prong link for a better fit. Highly recommend!

Genuine Hermspringer product. Happy customer
These collars are a lifesaver. My rotty pup just turned 10 months about 75lbs now (a little bit small for his age but he’s very fit) and I upped the size from the small to the medium. (Shown in photos for reference for anyone on the fence about the size). The small worked great from 8-10 months but I had to order extra prongs for it to fit him. Recently he’s gotten too big where the small looked uncomfortable on him. The medium size- I had to take two prongs off for the correct fit (up high and tight around the back of the neck/ears but not digging into his neck). I got the easy on/off buckle option for the small collar and will probably order one for this size too, I was hoping it would fit on the medium but it doesn’t. I’ve always had a guilty conscience about using prong collars but when it comes down to it, it’s for his safety, my safety and honestly it’s amazing to be able to enjoy our daily walks again. I have tried EVERY leash and collar combination he just does not stop pulling. He pulled me out into the road to go after a leaf so I knew we needed something else to help bridge that gap of miscommunication between us. The collar does not hurt him. The slip lead I tried before this was causing way more damage than this collar ever could. I have only had to do a correction twice, and he always gets excited when he sees me grab it because he knows we are going for an adventure. I think these are the best tools for walking, but please make sure to do research on how to properly use and fit them for your dog.

Strong/Durable Prong Collar
Love this prong collar. I’ve tried cheaper ones but did not work with my 90 pound dog. Worth the extra amount of money for one that worked. I bought a second one for my parents smaller dog. Love that you can adjust the size as needed.

I feel that this collar is an absolute must for initial training.
I am training my 85# rescued 2.5 y/o Rot/Lab/Mix to be my service dog. He is all black and I wanted a training collar that is as inconspicuous as possible. My guy got the message immediately when this collar was put on that he needed to follow input commands he was/is being given. I like the swivel because I feel it helps to keep the motions free and without the entanglements of a stationary ring, although there is also stationary ring to use which keeps the unit from tightening when used in concert with the swivel ring. This is a very high quality collar, is well made and although I am not a fan of pinch collars, this item appears to have been engineered for safe humane use. Because the tips of the prongs have been rounded smooth and not left jagged and sharp, I feel comfortable using it. I use it with the understanding that it is for temporary use and is not intended to be used as an every day collar, but for training times only. As with any collar, misuse of this item can cause damage and as a handler you should always bear this in mind. As for the extra prongs that I purchase separately, I found that I did not need them after all but did not want to regret not having them in case I needed them at a later time. There is no "paint chipping off" and the colour remains intact, which was something I wondered about when I looked at it before purchasing. I highly recommend this product!

IF A 63 YEAR OLD VISIONED IMPAIRED CAN US IT SUSCECFULLY , ANYONE ELSE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE IT.
I AM A 63 YEAR OLD MALE, AND VISION IMPAIRED I HAVE BEEN A PITTBULL OWNER FOR MORE THAN 15 YEARS , I HAVE NEVER HAD THE NEED FOR A PRONG COLLER IN TILL NOW , I HAVE A PITT BULL ABOUT 2 YEARS OLD , AND HE IS A PULLER AND A BARKER HE TENDS TO BARK AT ANYTHING , LIKE BEES , SO I PURCHACED THIS COLLER , AND MADE SUER IT WAS PROPERLY ADJUSTED ON HIS NECK , AS SOON AS I OPENED THE DOOR AND HER STARTED TO RUN OUT THE DOOR , AND HE NOTICE SOME PRESSURE ON HIS NECK , HE MOVED BACK AND WAITED FOR ME TO MOVE FORWARDS, I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS DOG FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS , AND ALL 21 DAYS HE PULLED , TODAY , USING THIS COLLER HE STOPPED PULLING AND FOR THE FIRST TIME , WITH 2 CORRECTIONS HE STOPPED BARKING AT THE KIDS. I NEVER WANTED TO USE THIS TYPE OF CALLERS BECAUSE OF THE , PEOPLE SAYING , THE COLLAR DID NOT WORK , AND I WITCH I HAD DID MORE RESEARCH AND USED IT SOONER . THE COLLAR DOES WORK WHEN USED PROPERLY , AND IT DOES WORK AS ADVERTISED, 2 THUMBS UP ON THIS PRODUCT , AND FOR ANYONE OUT THERE UNDECIDED , TRY IT YOU WONT REGRET IT, IT WORKS AS LONG AS YOU USE IT PROPERLY . BEFORE USING THE COLLAR I WALKED THE DOG ONLY WHEN HE NEEDED TO BE WALKED , NOW I WALK HIM BECAUSE I KNOW NOW I CAN WALK WITH HIM WITHOUT HAVING TO WORRIES THAT HIS GOING TO WALK ME INSTEAD OF ME WALKING HIM , PROBLEM SOLVED , FOR NOW WORK IN PROGRESS, I HOPE THIS INFO HELPS SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT BUYING AND USING THIS COLLAR . REMEMBER I AM VISIONED IMPAIRED WALKING A 70 POUND PITTBILL THAT LIKES TO PULL, I ALSO PURCHASED THE QUICK RELEASE BUCKLE FOR QUICK REMOVAL AND IT ALSO WORKS LIKE A CHARM. THIS IS JUST THE FIRST DAY USING THE COLLAR

It works!
First of all, this collar is really quite beautiful. I have a dark gray pitbull and I ordered this in black so that it wasn’t such an obvious big silver torture looking collar and it’s really well-made and blends in with my dog. I have tried everything( I rescued him 3 weeks ago) and, at first I didn’t think that this was working either, because I didn’t understand how to fit it properly and he didn’t seem to feel any correction. It needs to be quite snug and I had to remove 3 links .( Hamilton Training on YouTube has excellent videos on how to fit and train with this collar) After one session and only one correction, his pulling stopped and I am finally looking forward to loose leash walks. The only drawback is that it is quite tricky to connect and undo the prongs on the links to put on and off as the prongs are very sturdy. Worth it!

Awesome
This is very good quality and used correctly it works effectively! No more pulling from my 6 month GSD that I've tried and tried to train to stop pulling. Now he's the absolute best walker on the streets!

Good quality product and effective
I am not a fan of hurting any animal which is why I like this setup. It only pinches when they pull and has the ability for a quick release if there is trouble for whatever reason. We've been using it for our large dog that has now stopped the pulling. Hopefully when the puppy stage is over, we can ditch the pincher..

Top Quality
They’re pricy but Herm Sprenger collars are the best quality…I’ve used them for on all my dogs wether for show or working.

Completely stopped pulling, first time
Love this, my dog doesn't seem to mind either! Using for training to walk properly, he is one year old yellow lab, golden mix, and we've had some issues with pulling, especially when we see other people or dogs, otherwise he walked fine. However, when he pulled with the flat collar he was choking himself and couldn't breathe, I got nervous when he was choking, we've tried the harness too and he rolls on the grass and takes it off, and if he pulls back instead of walking forward the harness is able to slip off his legs. Definitely not safe, I live in A busy city and lots of cars. Overall this collar has worked WONDERS, well worth the money! I was recommended this one and very happy with it. Don't cheap out on a prong if you don't want to hurt your pup. I'm sure this will last years to come

Prong collar is amazing!
I have a 2 year old 80lb rottweiller and she pulled like you wouldn't believe. I bought this to help and within 1 walk she was a different dog. She tried to run towards another dog and she yelped, after that she sat right beside me. Now, she doesn't leave my side when being walked. The only thing that's a pain is taking it on and off so I bought the buckle to attach to it which should make it much easier. I highly recommend this to anyone who's dog is pulling when being walked. Just make sure to watch a video on how to properly put it on and you will see a different dog! 4 stars because of taking it on and off, buy the buckle. I bought the 23in size and took off 2 prongs FYI
