Columbia Women's Plus-Size Sandy River Short

These quick dry shorts are one of the best active gear investments I have ever made. I have worn these hiking in Costa Rica and out kayaking on a lake and they were perfect for both settings. These shorts are very lightweight and comfortable. The fabric is very breathable and, true to the description, dries very quickly. When I wore these kayaking for 5 hours, I definitely got wet, but the shorts dried extremely quickly and didn't leave me feeling uncomfortable and wet on the ride home either. They have small pockets on either side with a mesh lining that are perfect for holding small items like keys or lip balm. They fit as expected and are surprisingly flattering. I would highly recommend these if you go hiking in any sort of warm/wet climate or will be near any body of water. These would also make great shorts for a bathing suit cover up to the beach or to a water park.

I’ve recently lost a lot of weight and needed to replace my long shorts. These are so comfortable and fit great. The inseam is perfect for my new smaller thighs that still show a bit of stretch marks while also not feeling like granny shorts (I’m 41). These will be perfect for our upcoming cruise since they’re thin and quick drying. I wear a 14 in pants and bought these in a large. They aren’t loose in the waist, but the XL would be too baggy.

I bought these shorts for hiking purposes. Very breathe-able and lightweight. Size wise they fit as expected with the waist being a bit too large for me despite having a drawstring waistband. Don’t expect them to be the sexiest pair of shorts you own. They’re cute but definitely more for the utility and comfort of them. Very versatile piece of clothing if you get these in a neutral color you can wear them with just about anything for any time of day. They may be more expensive than your typical cheap shorts but it’s worth throwing in the extra change for a pair of shorts that’ll last you very many years.

Nice fitting, easy wear shorts. Black nylon or like material. Washed and dried perfectly and quickly. The elastic waist does have a working drawstring should you need it. Seems true to size, no need to go up or down a size in my opinion. I have bigger thighs and I was glad the leg holes weren't tight. Nice depth to pockets. A zippered pocket on the back. I am happy with my purchase. Having said that, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. UPDATE... 8/30/22 - I ordered the 'turquoise' - it looks really nice and light in the photo - however - it is a VERY DARK teal. Just FYI. I would have preferred the lighter. But these shorts are really good.

This short is very comfortable and great looking. I was looking for a short a bit longer in length than most shorts on the market today. The description says it 5" inseam and it measures 5" but......it wears a little shorter for some reason. This will be great for walking and hanging around but I was looking for a more modest cut to wear to the gym (getting on and off weight machines, etc.). May be suitable if you have skinnier legs.....this short and shapely legs and modesty are not well matched. Shipper was super speedy....

Always know that I can order these and they will be comfortable and lightweight. I think they run maybe just a bit big but that’s a non issue since I can still wear my smalls comfortably even after putting on a few pounds.

I can't believe how much I love these shorts! They are lightweight and are not too short, I even wear them to work sometimes (I work in a casual environment). They are also great for hiking and walking around since they are so lightweight and dry quickly! I also like the elastic waistband so it doesn't push on my tummy at all, even if I'm sitting around all day. I've both dried them in the dryer and hang dry, and both methods seem to work fine! I haven't noticed any shrinking. The big front pockets do not have zippers, but there is a small zipper pocket in the back. I'm 5'6 ~130 lbs with an athletic build, typically wear a size 6 and the medium in these shorts fit perfectly. I like them so much I have them in 2 colors and am considering the 3rd... I almost never buy multiples of the same item.

I bought these for an upcoming trip to Costa Rica during rainy season. I wanted some shorts that were light, quick dry, water resistant, and with a longer inseam bc we will be doing some adventuring. These check off all those boxes! I wore them to my kids’ swim meet to test them out. The pockets are great, they fit comfortably, and the 5” inseam is a classier length for this mid-aged Mom. When I got splashed from the swimmers diving in, the water just rolled right off of these shorts! I’m impressed! I’m 5’6”, 135lbs, wide hips-I ordered a medium and they fit well. I ordered another pair!

Half price compared to Patagonia baggies 2.5”, just as good quality I’d say

I LOVEEEE these shorts. The 5 inch version is a perfect dupe for the Patagonia baggies. However, I would recommend sizing up to achieve that look, especially if you have thick thighs. Minus 1 star for running a bit small & having no liner. Love the mesh pockets, the colour, and the length! Would 100% recommend!

Super comodo y seca rápido, si eres de cadera ancha, yo recomendaría una talla más grande. Tenia un poco de miedo con el color, no es tanto color "pepto bismol" mas como rosa pastel.

These shorts are very nice quality and color. They fit really good as well. They were my favorite shorts this summer. They wash really well.
