WallyHome is an easy to install connected home device that alerts homeowners to water leaks and changes in temperature to alert homeowners before their property becomes damaged. Wally detects changes in humidity and temperature with small sensors placed near appliances or areas susceptible to damage and communicates this information remotely using your home's existing copper wires. The information is fed through your home's copper wires to the Wally Hub. The Hub then sends a text message to your phone to alert you of the exact problem. WallyHome provides unsurpassed coverage within a home and its underlying technology enables the Wally sensors' batteries to last 10plus years. Review: Worth every penny - We got the Wally system after we had a sump pump overflow in our basement. The system works great - any sign of trouble with any sensor and it alerts our designated contacts by phone, text, and email. We had one dead sensor when we got the package, but Wally was great and sent us out a replacement ASAP. They're also very responsive to support requests - we could not see some data and had a connectivity issue with a sensor or two and they helped troubleshoot for a couple of days. 2 things I don't like about this system, which aren't really issues but design limitations: Both have to do with how the sensors communicate. They use the power lines in your house to create a wireless network to communicate with the hub, which you connect to your home network. That means sensors have to be fairly close to some power infrastructure in your house to communicate. In our house that's not a problem, but I can see other homes where you might want to put a sensor where there are no power wires in the wall, and that could be a problem. The other issue is that since the hub receives the signal from the sensors using this wireless network over the home's power lines, it has to be plugged directly into the power coming from the wall - no extension cords, no surge protectors, no UPS battery backup. That means that if the power goes out in your house, even if the rest of your home network is on a UPS battery backup, your Wally system is down. In our circumstance, that's exactly when we NEED the Wally system to be doing its job, because the sump pump can't, and we won't get alerts that it may be overflowing. So, as long as the power is on, this thing works great. I just wish that weren't a limitation of the design, or that they'd built in some battery backup for situations like when the power goes out. Review: Stay away - worse consumer electronics purchase ever! - Very easily the worse consumer electronics product I have ever purchased. Originally purchased because of the integration with Nest and the ability to use as a temperature sensor to help Nest deal with an awkward thermostat placement issue. Great in theory, however the frequency in which it reports the actual temperature readings back to the Nest yields this functionality completely and totally useless (Wally reports the temperature to nest every 4-6 hours which obviously is not frequent enough to properly control the thermostat). Ultimately moved away from the Next to Ecobee3 (due to their remote sensor capabilities) and decided to stick with Wally simply for its water detection capabilities. The unit is riddled with bugs, frequently just disconnects from the hub (despite being connected without problems for weeks), and then often when one sensor goes down, they all drop in a wave. As of this writing of my 10 sensors throughout my home, only 2 are connected to the Hub, the rest are offline for no apparent reason.

Great idea, but needs improvement
This is a great idea and I applaud the company for creating this, however I was plagued with connectivity issues that eventually led me to return the product. I tested this out with the hub connected directly to my home router. Despite having a wired connection, the would regularly lose it's connection. Additionally, I found it tricky to locate the sensors in a way such that they remained connected to the hub. While these are supposed to work through the home wiring, I had difficulty even when the sensor was placed directly in front of an outlet. Some of the areas that I want to monitor do not have electrical outlets nearby, so I found this frustrating. The support for the product was easy to get to and the people did their best to help resolve the issues.(5 stars for the customer support) There is no documentation in the box, and only a small tag on the hub telling the user to connect to the web. The web site is designed to step through the set up process, but I found it lacking detail. If everything worked as it should, this probably would have been adequate. My setup required call or two to their support line. In short, I lacked confidence that this product would operate as desired, and given the cost I chose to return it.

Love my WallyHome !!!
WallyHome is a life saver!!!! I have only had mine for just over a month now but it has helped out majorly. I just moved into a new home and decided to give wally a try paired with a new Nest thermostat I placed a few sensors and it was setup in minutes after opening the package. a day or 2 later we had a decent rainstorm that ended up flooding our basement and luckily Wally warned me before I ever made it how so I was able to go out and buy a new Shop Vac and drain connector to vacuum up all the water and drain it out to my sump pump. it's well worth the investment !

This is a good product but unfortunatly the support is not there to ...
The sensors keep loosing connections to the hub w/o any logical reason why. The sensors not relocated or moved. After the connection is established it take several days to loose the connectivity. A lot of false positives on water detection bc if that I stopped paying attention to the alarms and my basement got flooded. This is a good product but unfortunatly the support is not there to assist with tge problems. One thing noticed, the sensors have to be closed to electrical outles to communicate with the hub. The problem is you don't want to have electric outles installed anywhere around potential water leaks areas.

Great out of box
Worked well out of box. It kept saying there was high humidity or water under AC unit. I couldn't see it and thought it was not functioning only to discover that yes indeed there was an issue. Sold me right there.
